Role of Your Counselor

The counselors’ role is mainly one of student advocacy.

Students come to counselors for help with a variety of issues in order to develop self esteem, self advocacy skills, help with family issues, crisis intervention, post secondary planning (which includes scheduling and four year plans), academic assistance including study skills, and numerous other issues in the realm of adolescent growth.

As we assist students throughout the four year high school experience, our goal is to get every student to achieve academically, socially, and emotionally and we will work diligently with individual students and groups as we determine their needs.
