History & Significance Titans were the children of Heaven and
Earth.
Cronus and the other Titans were defeated by Zeus (Cronus’ son). Many just took a lower place, Cronus fled to Italy. (Believed that this spread the Golden Age in Italy)
The titans then had children (the 12 Olympians) who overthrew them and were very important in Greek and Roman life.
