  • BSU update The ministry at BSU continues to go well. We have seen growth in our students, both in maturity in Christ and in the number committed to our community. We have continued to become more involved in the campus, most recently serving the women of the campus through a “Two for Tea” event where ladies decorated mugs and enjoyed fellowship and food together. Later this week we will host an event for alumni in town for Homecoming. We will have a bonfire, s’mores, and games to welcome alumni back to the campus and, for many of them, the BSU that so impacted their lives. In November we will host a Friday night event (11/14) where C of O graduates will come back to speak about preparing for life after C of O. Following this special BSU Talk, we will have our monthly Game Night, complete with ping pong, board games, and a movie. Finally, the college’s Student Senate puts on a Coffee House event once each month. This event is an opportunity for students to gather together and have coffee, snacks, and conversation while their fellow students perform music. This event moves to various venues on campus, and for the first time ever the November Coffee House will be held at the BSU House! Lots of exciting things are happening in reaching students with the gospel and we invite you to partner with us through prayer and any other way you feel led to help.

Hard to believe that 2014 is almost in the history books, isn’t it? It seems like just yesterday that we were digging out of the overly generous snows that Old Man Winter dropped on us last winter. Now, cool north winds are moving in again. Change is in the air. The new year is just around the corner.

But before we turn the page on 2014, it’s good to take stock of what happened this year, and remember how good God has been to us. As I look back, I am thankful that the Lord brought me to Tri County to minister alongside some of the finest churches and pastors I have known.

I am thankful that, because of God’s provision and your generosity, that this year TCBA was able to help place nearly 400 Bibles in the hands of prisoners in our local jails. I am thankful that TCBA could hold a Children’s Camp where 15 people prayed to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. I am thankful that TCBA was able to provide $7,500 in funding to assist our churches reach their communities for Christ. I am thankful that TCBA encouraged pastors and their wives to remain faithful as they “fight the good fight.” And I am thankful that it is through the free-will offerings of our churches that TCBA could do all this, and more.

Thank you, Tri County churches, for partnering with this ministry. Your gifts are a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God (Philippians 4:18). Thank you for allowing me to serve our Lord by serving His churches. I pray you have a blessed holiday season! Phillip Shuford Director of Missions

    First report

TCBA’s Evangelistic Block Party Trailer is a big success!

Over 600 people have attended outreach events at five TCBA churches since our new block party trailer was purchased in August. The results: at least one profession of faith, four new visitors, and over 50 volunteers mobilized to do ministry outside their churches’ four walls.

The block party trailer is fast becoming a favorite evangelistic tool and is available to all TCBA churches for outreach to their local communities and for church events. To learn more and to reserve the EBPT, go to www.tcsba.com
