the Korean War Memorial at

Stratford Way Park.

Chain of Lakes Trail Meeting Halifax Water will be hosting a community meeting

on October 30th, 6:30-8:30 pm, to explain how the

Lakeside Pumping Station Diversion Project will

affect your use of the Chain of Lakes Trail. The

meeting will be held at Bethany United Church,

7171 Clinton Avenue, just in from the Armdale

Roundabout. To learn more about this issue in

Let's celebrate the 75th Anniversary of

barbershopsinging together, with an

evening of great "a capella" four part harmony,

featuring the combined HRM chorus

of over 60 male voices, as well as quartets "Just

Four Fun", "Crosswinds" and more. Also

performing in their first public appearance, is

"Harmony West", a student “a capella” group

from Halifax West High School.

The charity partner for this event is Ronald

McDonald House, offering families the opportunity

to stay near their sick children, regardless of their

income.

Doors will open at 4 o'clock with the first sitting of the dinner at 4:30 and a second sitting at 5:45. Tickets for the Christmas Dinner Chicken Casserole are $10. Mary Clayton Memorial Park

The Willett Street Reserve was recently re-named the Mary Clayton Memorial Park to honour the contributions of the Clayton family to HRM. It is located at 274 Willett Street. The park re-naming is part of Regional Council’s recent approval of naming requests for certain city properties recommended by the Asset Naming Committee.

The annual Holiday Parade of Light will be held in Downtown Halifax on Saturday, November 16th from 4:30 pm to 6:15 pm in Downtown Halifax. The Parade begins on Upper Water Street at Cornwallis Street, continues over the Barrington Street overpass onto Barrington Street and turns right onto Spring Garden Road. It then turns left on South Park and then right onto University Avenue, concluding at the corner of University Avenue and Robie Street. Parents are reminded to keep children off the street and on the sidewalk at all times. There will be no parking along the Parade route. The public is encouraged to use Metro Transit and expect traffic and parking delays.

Holloween Safety Tips Watch for cars

Wear bright reflective clothes

Wear face paint instead of masks

If you need to wear a mask, make sure eye holes are big enough to see through Flash lights or glow sticks help people see you at night Trick or treat in a group

Have parents check your treats

Have fun but remember to be safe!
