Chinese Language Enrichment Programme!Di Zi Gui and other Chinese Classics enhances the learning of the Chinese language through classics recital, and encourages young children to appreciate the acquisition of pronunciation techniques, gain knowledge in Chinese Culture and traditional customs as well as to attain humane wisdom.!

Course Design and Structure!The curriculum has been developed to increase the interest in a child’s attitude towards learning the Chinese Language. Students learn to read the beautiful, often complex characters of the Chinese language. The use of Chinese Classics helps improve a child’s self and social emotional awareness.!

Di Zi Gui is a well-known secular Chinese Classics based on the ancient teaching of the C h i n e s e p h i l o s o p h e r Confucius. For more than 2,000 years, Confucius' deeds have been admired by both government officials and the g e n e ra l p u b l i c , a n d h i s character constantly emulated. His philosophy has become the mainstream of traditional Chinese culture and the basis of moral norms.

Character Education Di Zi Gui <弟⼦子规> is the Standards for being a Good Pupil and Child. This book is based on the ancient teaching of the Chinese philosopher Confucius that emphasises the basic requisites for being a good person and guidelines for living in harmony with others. It covers core values of Filial Piety, Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Integrity, Care and Harmony which is in-line with what the government hopes to see in all our children and youths. Besides cultivating kids’ moral education, helping them to understand moral character traits like “Filial Piety”, “Trust”, “Love” and “Kindness”, as a Chinese Classics, Di Zi Gui is an effective way for young children to learn Chinese.

Our course is divided into 3 levels:!

• Basic - 3 to 7 years old (N1, N2, K1 and K2)!• Intermediate - 7 to 12 years old (Pri 1 to Pri 6)!• Advanced - 13 years and above!

At each level, a child attends one lesson per week. Students will be taught Chinese Classics ranging from Literary Chinese to Tang Poems, Song Verses, etc. After the first few lessons, students are gradually expected to be able to recognise and read the basic Chinese characters.
