MEN’S DAY – WELCOME MEN of ATHERTON, to our Annual Men’s Day”. Our theme for this year is: “Chosen for Change” taken from: 1 Peter 2:9 (MSG). We are asking all Men to give a $100.00 donation or their best offering.

STATE OF THE CHURCH MEETING – Join Pastor Weaver for 2016 Yearly Review Church meeting on tomorrow, February 20th at: 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

DANCE & DRAMATIC ARTS MINISTRY- the Play, “A House Divided” that was scheduled for Friday, February 24th at 7p.m. has been postponed until a later date. Thank you for your support and understanding.

YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY— Calling all Young Adults! The Young Adult Ministry will be holding its 3rd Annual Ministry Breakfast on this coming Saturday, February 25th at: 10 a.m. in the Church Annex. You can sign-up TODAY in the Courtyard after the 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Worship service.

DANCE & DRAMATIC ARTS MINISTRY - All who are interested in sharpening your skills in dance and/or drama, there are workshops being held on Saturday, March 11th upstairs in the dance studio. The Dance Workshop is from 8 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., and the Drama Workshop is from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The workshops will be led by Ariyan Johnson of DIMABA Ministries. Samuel George “Sammy” Davis Jr. (December 8, 1925 - May 16, 1990) was an American entertainer. Primarily a dancer and a singer, he was also an actor of stage and screen, comedian, musician, and impressionist, noted for his impersonations of actors, musicians and other celebrities. Davis was awarded the Spingarn Medal by the NAACP and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for his television performances. He was the

recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors in 1989, and in 2001, he was posthumously awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Medgar Wiley Evers (July 2, 1925 - June 12, 1963) was an American civil rights activist from Mississippi who worked to overturn segregation at the University of Mississippi and to enact social justice and voting rights. He was killed by a segregationist.

Stevland Hardaway Morris(born Stevland Hardaway Judkins; May 13, 1950) known by his stage name Stevie Wonder, is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist. A child prodigy, he is considered to be one of the most critically and commercially successful musical performers of the late 20th century. Wonder was signed with Motown’s Tamla label at the age of 11, and continued performing and

recording for Motown into the 2010s. He has been blind shortly after birth. Among Wonder’s works are singles such as “Superstition”, “Sir Duke”, “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” and “I just Called to Say I Love You”, and albums such as Talking Book, Innervisions and Songs in the Key of Life. He has recorded more than 30 U.S. top ten hits and received 25 Grammy Awards, one of the most awarded male solo artists, and has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the top 60 best-selling music artists. Wonder is also noted for his work as an activist for political causes, including his 1980 campaign to make Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday a holiday in the United States. In 2009, Wonder was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace. In 2013, Billboard magazine released a list of the Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists to celebrate the US singles chart’s 55th anniversary, with Wonder at number six.
