    About This Information Pack

    This information pack provides useful material regarding the role that you areapplying for and further advice to guide you with your application.

    Position Description

    As a member of the Resource Assurance and Analysis Branch these positions areresponsible for analysis and assurance of the portfolio budget across key resourcecategories, including operating budgets - workforce and suppliers, capital investmentand operations budgets.

    These positions undertake analysis and assurance of cost estimates provided for all

    submissions both internal and external to the department, including Ministerial andCabinet submissions and Senior Defence Committees within the Chief FinanceOfficer Group clearance guidelines.

    These positions also provide analysis and advice on group budgets and ensurealignment of Portfolio and group plans including the Defence White Paper, theDefence Capability Plan and Strategic Workforce Plan. The positions are a principalpoint of contact between the Groups and the Chief Finance Officer Group onresourcing and costing issues.

    Relocation Assistance

    The successful applicant for this position, will be provided with relocation assistance,if required, and in accordance with Defence policy. Further information on relocationsassistance will be available to the successful applicant through the Chairperson ofthe selection panel.

    Duty Statement

    1. Support the Director in leadership and delivery of section functions including: Workforce; Australian Defence Force Operations; Information Communication and Technology (ICT) and Infrastructure Strategic Reform Program; and Capital Investment.

    2. Participate as a member of a small team in financial management and reporting,cost assurance, policy and procedure development and coordination of projectsundertaken by the section.

    3. Compile financial and personnel management reports on a monthly basis or asrequired.

    4. Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining systems and processes.5. Assist in providing financial management stewardship, governance and policy

    guidance for Chief Finance Office Group.

    6. Liaise with stakeholders within Defence and other Government agencies relating tofinancial issues.

    7. Contribute towards briefings and submissions, for Defence's executive and Groupsin relation to policies, processes and emerging issues.

    Selection Criteria

    Remuneration Package

    In accordance with Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA) 2012 - 2014 thesuccessful candidate will receive an attractive remuneration package with a salarywithin the range noted on the front page of this Information Packand superannuationpaid in accordance with legislative requirements.

    Health Assessment -The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a medicalexamination conducted by the Departments preferred medical provider.

    Security Clearance - The preferred applicant will be required to successfullyundergo the security clearance vetting process at a specified clearance level. Thepreferred applicant MUST be willing to disclose all relevant and required information.

    The preferred applicant MUST have lived in Australia, or have a checkablebackground, for at least the preceding:

    Five years for BASELINE clearances, or

    Ten years for NEGATIVE VETTING 1 / NEGATIVE VETTING 2 or TOPSECRET POSITIVE VETTING clearances.
