REVERSE SANTA THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY! 36 bags were collected to distribute to communities in Rural North impacted by the fires. The Executive Director for Rural North collected the gifts today.

VOTE FOR BRISBANIA’S TREE AND HELP COAST SHELTER Visit the Brisbania Christmas tree at Erina Fair (near Kmart). Our talented Kindergarten students made a variety of Christmas decorations to create our themed ’Under The Ocean’ Christmas Tree. We have attached a copy of the poem created for our themed tree. The trees will be on display until 24 December and for a gold coin donation, you are able to vote for your favourite Christmas tree. The 3 schools with the most votes will win a $300 gift voucher. Please make your way to Kmart and vote, vote, vote! All proceeds go directly to Coast Shelter Gosford. Thank you to all the Kindergarten students for making the decorations and to Mrs Collins and Mrs Norris for decorating the tree.

YEAR 6 FAREWELL AND GRADUATION Congratulations to Year 6 on reaching the end of their primary schooling. Their Year 6 farewell is tonight and their graduation next Monday at 1:30pm. 2020 STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM Today, Year 2-6heard from the 2020 Student Leadership Team nominees. The 2020 Sudent Leadership Team will be announced at Presentation Day. Congratulations on the quality of your speeches. The top 6 nominees will become the leadership team. CHOIR AND DANCERS AT ALLOURA WATERS The Christmas choir and dance groups will perform at Alloura Waters on Wednesday. The Christmas Choir will also perform at the Saratoga Shops on Saturday 14 December. POSTPONED COLOUR RUN The Colour Run will be on Wednesday 11 December at 1:30pm, weather permitting. Remember old enclosed shoes, a white or pale T shirt and old pants or shorts for the color run. Students can change after lunch or wear mufti if not involved in the Alloura Waters activities. BUSH FIRE SEASON and BRISBANIA PS The bushfire season runs from 1 October to 31 March each year. As such, it is timely to remind the community that Brisbania PS is in a bush fire prone area and is placed on the Bush Fire Register of the Department of Education (DoE). Should a catastrophic fire danger rating be issued, it is a DoE directive that the school be closed until the rating is lifted. Please be aware that the school will advise of closure via social media and the radio after 4:30pm the previous day. Staff would be required to report to the closest open school, while students are under parental supervision at home. A disabled parking spot will be available in the carpark and extension of walkways should be ready for the beginning of the 2020 school year. As a result of this work, the teachers’ car park at the top of the school will be disrupted, temporary fencing will be placed at the top of the school with access via the path near the driveway. Approximately one third of the COLA will be fenced off to begin drilling for the lift. This will obviously impact the seating of guests for Presentation Day this year. The mezzanine level near KK will also be fenced off. PRESENTATION DAY Our Years 1-6 Presentation Day will be held on Thursday at 9:15am. Invitations have been sent to parents of students receiving awards. Remember, seating will be at a premium with the fencing. The erection of the fence prior to Presentation Day was out of our control. A limited morning tea will follow the ceremony. REPORTS Semester Two reports will be sent home on Thursday 12 December with students. The teachers have spent hours writing the reports and I thank them for their time and informative comments. FRIDAY 13 DECEMBER Stage Three are at Raw Challenge, Stage Two are at the waterfront and Stage One go to the movies. Enjoy your end of year activities. KINDERGARTEN Kindergarten have their lunch on Tuesday 17 December to celebrate their end of year. Kindy Graduation is at 9:15am on Monday 16 December. END OF SCHOOL YEAR The last day for students is Wednesday 18 December. There will be a walkout of Year 6 at 2:30pm. The last day for staff is Thursday 19 December.

Hi Brisbania community, First off, I want to say a massive thank you to all the volunteers who helped pull off our Christmas disco and ‘You Did It’ BBQ last week. It’s a special thing to be part of a school with a volunteer mindset. The disco was our final fundraiser for the year. It’s been a great year working hard together as a school community to raise funds for our playground and equipment as well as serve our kids. Next year, we will have a special P&C fundraising focus on technology - getting some new laptops and smartboards for our classrooms - stay tuned for details in the new year. CANTEEN A reminder the canteen will be closed this Friday 13

and Wednesday 18

December.

Please make sure any canteen money owed comes into the school ASAP. Please send money directly to the canteen in a clearly labelled envelope. If you are not sure how much you owe please ring Paula or Rose in the canteen (ring the school and ask for the canteen) and they will love to tell you. UNIFORM SHOP The uniform shop will be open every Friday right up till Friday 20 December (8:30-9:30am). We’ll be open twice across January before students come back - Friday 24 January and Tuesday 28 January (Pupil free day). As always, we encourage parents to use FlexiSchools to purchase clothes and then come to the uniform shop to pick up orders. If you don’t have an account, go to https://www2.flexischools.com.au/ and download the app. For the 24 and the 28 January, we will be open for two hours: 8:30-9:30am – shop open for cash purchase 9:30-10:30am – Flexischools pick-up REBEL SPORT As you do your Christmas shopping or purchase new sports shoes and other items for next year you can make a difference for Brisbania! All purchases at Rebel can go towards credits for our school. If you have a Rebel card please ask the store to link it to Brisbania Public School next time you buy something. You only need to link it once and then all purchases count towards credits for the school. In the past we have used credits to purchase good quality balls for the various sports teams as well as other sporting equipment. We have also used credits to buy items for raffle prizes. LIBRARY STOCKTAKE

The end of year is quickly approaching and our library stocktake will

be starting soon. You can greatly assist Mr Lemmon by having a

home stocktake of your books! So often our school library books get

mixed up with our personal ones. Also, get your children to check in

toy boxes, cupboards and under the bed. With the stocktake taking

place, there will be no borrowing for the rest of the year. Please return

the school library books asap.
