FOCUS OF THE WEEK – Be Proud
JUNE LONG WEEKEND Just a reminder that next Monday 10
th June is a public holiday and students will not be attending on
that day. School will resume on Tuesday 11th June.
YEAR 1 and 2 EXCURSION Tomorrow Year 1 and 2 students are off to visit the Australian Museum in Sydney as part of their studies about dinosaurs.
BOYS’ SOFTBALL POSTPONED Unfortunately, as Gosford Council had closed Hilton Moore Oval, the boys’ softball game, set down for today, has been postponed to a date to be confirmed.
GIRLS’ SOCCER This Thursday we hope that the girls’ football (soccer) team will be able to play in their gala day. Thanks to Mrs Self for coaching the team and we wish them all the best.
UNSW SCIENCE TEST – WEDNESDAY The students involved in the International Competition and Assessment Centre tests will sit the science assessment this Wednesday. Students need to be at school on time.
KINDERGARTEN ENROLMENTS FOR 2014(repeat) It is time to enrol your child for Kindergarten 2014. Please pick up an enrolment package from the school office and if you know of anyone else, that has a pre-schooler in the area, please encourage them to enrol now. Our Head Start program will be held in the first five weeks of Term 4.
SCHOOL ATHLETICS CARNIVAL – CHANGE IN DATE (repeat) Due to events taking place during ‘Education Week’ next term, our whole school Athletics Carnival will now be held on Monday 5
th August and the back-up day will be Monday 19
th August.
VISITORS TO THE SCHOOL (repeat) If you are helping in the classroom or visiting the school for another reason you MUST go to the school office before entering the school. Visitors must sign in and out of the school and wear a visitor’s sticker. If a staff member challenges your presence on the school grounds please don’t be offended – they are simply working to keep everyone safe at school. (We have more than 500 parents, plus partners, grandparents and other relatives that potentially visit our school, so we can’t remember everyone’s face!).

P & C NEWS P &C Fundraising Since we have successfully installed Interactive whiteboards to each of our classrooms, this year our fundraising activities are focussed on bringing laptop and tablet access to each child at Brisbania. The P&C supports the schools decision and recognises the importance of bringing our students learning into the 21st Century. If you have ideas and suggestions for what you would like to see purchased for the school in future years from our fundraising, then bring along your fresh ideas to the next P&C meeting. We would love to hear them. CHICKS AT THE FLICKS - THE GREAT GATSBY - REPEAT I am so pleased to announce that we have managed to secure THE GREAT GATSBY as our Chicks at the Flicks evening on Friday 26th July at The Avoca Picture Theatre. Save the date and invite every girlfriend along for an exclusive showing and let's fill the cinema. Tickets will be on sale soon from the school office and an order form will be sent home to our school families. The tickets will cost $25.00 each and will include a glass of wine and light nibbles, plus your chance to win one of 5 lucky door prizes, and a goodie bag to take home. Chicks at the Flicks Goodie Bags Why not include a promotional item for your business in our Chicks at the Flicks Goodie Bags. Remember we will have 280 ladies if we fill the theatre, and that means a potential 280 extra customers for your business. If you have a small item, together with a promotional leaflet to include in our goodie bags, then simply drop them into the school office (make sure you mention that they are items for the Goodie Bags and not the raffle). All businesses will receive a mention in our Monday Note. Chicks at the Flicks - Raffle - Prizes Needed. If you want to promote your business online via our newsletter, then why not donate a prize to our Chicks at The Flicks Fundraiser and we will include your website or other contact details in our Monday Note.
