Bubble Bubble ~~Toil and TrouBle

Water Hash or “Bubble” as its known

as by almost any grower is one of

the real rare pleasures of the hobby.

When made properly from 100%

organic high grade Cannabis the

results are simply amazing.

i have a unique method that

produces amazing quality Bubble

that requires little more than a

small set of “Bubble Bags” and

a steel spoon and a few tall one

gallon buckets.

34 • finestcannabis.com

Page 35: Cannabis Connoisseur Issue #3

finestcannabis.com • 35

We take the 1 gallon bags and add a layer of ice

that’s been crushed using a hammer handle to produce

lots of sharp angles.

Then we add about 3” of sugar leaf, meaning

encrusted waste only no fans or crap and use fresh wet frozen weed! a big part of

the quality is how you collect and process your trim. a good

trick is to allow your trim to set out over night before freezing loosely in freezer

bags.

This reduces the volume and allows more leaf to be stirred at once.add a second later of ice, more weed then top off with ice lots of rough shaped ice. Top off with water leaving about 1” from top of bucket.

Place in the fridge for about 30 minutes. after the mix sits and is really cold remove place in sink and start stirring in a motion so that the stuff on bottom comes to top and the ice and water agitates to the bottom. The roundy roundy will come later but at first concentrate on moving the mix in a up to down motion as the trichomes break off and pass the screen they will naturally fall into the bottom of the bucket. as the ice breaks apart and you get more room you can increase the stirring action and really whip it up. This takes 6-8 minutes and it took a few batches before i could do it the entire time without a small break but you get used to it.

Stir Stir Stir for 5 minutes picking up speed, it will be foaming and this is when i shift into turbo stir really buffeting the mix around to maximize production.

finestcannabis.com • 35

Page 36: Cannabis Connoisseur Issue #3

36 • finestcannabis.com

When making multiple batches i just load the next as i press the last batch out.

i even re use the water and we save the left over leaf to use in butter making. Some people run there

trim twice but the product you see in the finished pictures is what i’m after and nothing else!

once the mix is stirred well i again allow it to sit for

like 20 minutes and then i simply drain each bag

starting with the 240. The Clean Trichome latent

water is then poured through the 120 bag. This is

strained and folded into a triangle so the resin

heads collect in one corner.

The green water is then poured through the 73 ui

bag and the same process is repeated. once more

with the 25 ui bag and then we collect the payoff

with a spoon and place onto the pressing screen

provided with the bags i desperately need a new

one of these. Bubbleman?

So scooping it out and onto the screen we close

the wet sand inside and press out the water with

a paper towel. once its really dry into the freezer

it goes for about 30 minutes this allows easy

removal from the pressing screen.

36 • finestcannabis.com

Page 37: Cannabis Connoisseur Issue #3

finestcannabis.com • 37

now comes the fun part when we see what was made and start the drying process

i use wax paper even though Bubbleman

prefers unpressed sand like hash to dry first. Since were making very small amounts i feel

this works fine for us and it drys so fast there’s no worry of spoiling. i am generally to the dry and pealing stage in just 2-3 days.

now for the Hash art

after another day passes these shapes fully dry out and can be crumbled into what i prefer to smoke above all other things. There is nothing like the taste of clean Trichomes.

finestcannabis.com • 37

Page 38: Cannabis Connoisseur Issue #3

38 • finestcannabis.com

it doesn’t hurt to start with great genetics and all of this amazing hash was made using our Hash

Hybrids like Vortex and Space Queen. Some plants simply produce larger resin heads and produce

large amounts of Trichome heads to be collected as Bubble.

Since we are Hash heads we tend to work with some pretty resinous gear.

Space Jill

*Afghooey: Available now in seed and clone form, Afgoo has become a staple on the medical marijuana circuit in California, where she is grown all across Northern California, but has a particularly impressive presence in the Lake Tahoe-Grass Valley growing community. Recently, she has been stinking up the Rocky Mountain collectives as well. No surprise. Growers and smokers love the Goo. She is a high-yielding indica, which is rare, and is absolutely beautiful once completely flowered out—massive white and golden colas. Smokers have taken to this relatively new genetic offering because of the strong, close-to-narcotic, indica dominant high produced and powerful, butterscotch odor emitted.

Origin: Unknown Indica Dominant Lineage: Maui Haze X Afghani Taste: Buttery Haze on the way in; Tootsie Roll aftertaste Buzz: High in pain relief, low on head high, the Goo is a very mellow, relaxing high.

*G-13: Although it was probably never a super-secret government strain of marijuana, as was once rumored, the hype surrounding G13 is still very well warranted. The strain is a cross between OG Kush and a carefully selected pure Hash Plant. Hash plant is a musky, resin producing full-bodied indica, with strong earthy undertones. Once crossbred with So Cal’s lemon-tang favorite, OG Kush, the emerging phenotype was destined to be a legend.

Origin: Unknown-- (Soma Seeds) Indica Dominant Lineage: OG Kush X Hash Plant Taste: Hashy, Lemon-Pine, Earthy with a lingering tobacco-like aftertaste—a heavy smoke Buzz: Late afternoon cloud cover; Hilarious loss of coordination; Increase in appetite; Catnap is probably in order

*Romulan: Though originating in California, a Vietnam Veteran-Cultivation Expert brought Romulan to Canada in the 1970s, where it was stabilized in Vancouver. The original Romulan was purchased by Federation Seeds in the nineties and backcrossed with a White Rhino male. When flowering, Romulan is a gorgeous plant to watch: long purple stems, massive white, trichome-covered colas, and healthy, stocky plant structures. She is a medium-yielder, enjoys dry climates to grow outdoors in, and usually can finish in less than nine weeks.

Origin: British Columbia, Canada via Northern California (Federation Seeds)Indica DominantLineage: California strain X White RhinoTaste: Pungent, peppery, not too much flavor; Romulan is a plant all about “the high,” not the flavor. Buzz: I love the intense body stone of White Rhino, and Romulan is stonier than its genetic ancestors. Couch lock is always in order, so make it a Blockbuster evening if you find this rare and exceptional pot.

*Blueberry: DJ Short has been cultivating some of the finest cannabis strains on the planet. His growing guides and seeds for sale have become industry standard. One of the great bud doctor’s best selling, biggest hitting strains has been Dj Shorts Blueberry plant, winner of the 2000 Cannabis Cup. Short’s Blueberry genetics are infused into nearly every “Blue” variety on the market-- the high produced and yields achieved being too perfect for growers to pass up. Crossing three strains from the Short-seed collection created the strain: Highland Thai, Purple Thai, and Afghani Landrace Indica plant. Blueberry colas are small and dense, very resinous, with purple to royal blue coloring. Flowering time is between 7-9 weeks.

Origin: British Columbia, Canada (Dj Short Collection) Indica DominantTaste: Actually… Blueberry! Sweet, Menthol, Earthy Indica aftertaste attributable to the Afghani male. Lineage: Highland Thai (a.k.a. Juicy Fruit) X Purple Thai X Afghani Buzz: Intoxicating, euphoric, mellow yellow, body stone.

*Papaya: This fruit strain is quickly becoming one of the Nirvana Seed Company’s most desired indica varieties. There are three reasons for this: One, the strain has a unique smell, sweet and spicy, unlike anything else out there, really; Two, it is an indica dominant plant that also has high yield rates, very rare; And three, the high is stellar, very strong. So, essentially, with Papaya, growers get big buds, indica-tive effects, and an entirely new taste for our palettes to become accustomed.

Origin: Amsterdam (Nirvana Seed Company)Indica DominantLineage: Citral #13 X Ice #2Taste: Perfumed, tobacco, chocolate, spicy Buzz: Stoney, sleepy, Papaya is a creeper indica, so, for first-timers, don’t get overambitious or your day may end quicker than you would like.

*Bubba Kush: After emerging onto the cannabis scene only a decade ago, Bubba Kush has since altered the face of California Kush genetics forever. This small, stalky, super stoney take on the Kush plant has been in such demand that, for better and worse, other Kush-family genetics have been neglected, particularly Afghani and Master Kush phenos. In parts of Northern California, Bubba Kush has become so common that growers refer it as: California Master. Bubba Kush is the result of growers desiring higher yields from traditionally low-yielding Kush varieties. In order to facilitate bigger buds--higher yields—some savvy cultivator out there crossed a Master Kush pheno with a Bubblegum plant, the latter being a heavy hitting sativa dominant strain exhibiting more vigorous growth patterns. The result was not only a higher-yielding Kush plant, but also an entirely different high—dare I say, an even stronger high, than many pure landrace Kush plants.

Origin: Northern CaliforniaIndica DominantLineage: Master Kush X Bubblegum Taste: Pungent skunk aftertaste, soapy, dirt, lime, earthy Kush family undertones prevalentBuzz: Strong! Narcotic. Absolute nighttime herb, excellent for intense pain relief.

*MK-Ultra: If you find it… buy it. That simple. MK-Ultra is a genetic monster, the bud child of breeders at T.H. Seeds. This truly unique indica is the result of crossing an OG Kush clone with a G-13 phenotype -- two of the most potent and popular strains in the history of recorded cannabis, mated for our pleasure! Primarily grown indoors, MK-Ultra is extremely resinous plant with midsized yields, finishing in 8-9 weeks.

Origin: Amsterdam (T.H. Seeds)Indica DominantLineage: O.G. Kush X G13Taste: Pungent pine immediate flavors, skunky undertones, soil, hashy, very complex tasteBuzz: Heavy head high, very mellow body stone, and many smokers report a sativa-oriented, giddy side of the high as well. For the bona fide stoner, MK Ultra, when grown to perfection, is usually the extra heavy, ultra potent, rainy day head stash relegated only for special occasions.

*Northern Lights #5: Arguably the most popular indica ever invented, it is, unfortunately, like many old-school sensimilla spearheads, becoming difficult to find. However, in many cases, you’re smoking NL #5 without knowing it, as the strain is a cross-fertilizer in numerous other popular plants because it adds growth vigor and strong indica-traits to almost any strain, while also reducing the overall flowering time, making it, in essence, the perfect crosser. But it is standing alone when NL #5 is at her best: she has the sweet-meets-skunk aroma and super stoney effects of the “old school” dank varieties—think Shiva Skunk, Skunk #1, Super Silver Haze, all former cannabis heavyweights of the world. Available through Sensi Seed Bank, NL #5 was developed over twenty years of selective inbreeding, and is the cross of a pure Northern Lights male plant with a female Northern Lights variety that was a pure Northern Lights plant that had been crossed with a Thai Haze pheno.

Origin: Amsterdam (Sensi Seed Bank)Indica DominantLineage: Pure Northern Lights male X (NL #1 X Thai Haze) femaleTaste: Sweet, skunky, spicy, the slight Thai Haze influence surprisingly adds a complex range of flavors. Buzz: The consummate body high-- You may be unable to attend to tasks; may become wonderfully apathetic; may want to smoke this every Sunday morning.

*Master Kush: Take two Hindu Kush plants, cross them together, and presumably you would have twice the effect… right? That ultra-indica-infused cross is what produces the extremely potent, universally popular physiological effect Master Kush has on its smokers. Originally crossbred and stabilized in Amsterdam, Master Kush won two Cannabis Cups—1992,1993-- before it was proliferated across the Atlantic. Extremely potent, Master is a great choice for anyone who desires strong, lethargic properties from their flower.

Origin: Amsterdam via Indus Valley Indica Dominant Lineage: Hindu X HinduTaste: Spicy pine tones, limey, soapy, earthy flavors Buzz: Master Kush’s popularity stems from her buzz. She is an extremely mellow-yellow indica variety, i.e. Master is a strong indica, specifically designed to intensify indica-related properties: good for severe/chronic pain, insomnia, appetite enhancement, casual and professional relaxing.

*Mr. Nice Guy: Named after one of the most infamous marijuana smugglers in history, Mr. Nice Guy was Sensi Seed Banks ode to Howard Marks, the bud smuggling extraordinaire. In order to make sure the man was properly thanked for his hard work, the breeders at Sensi Seeds cultivated a double-indica phenotype, sure to put “the man”, or any other human, down the rabbit hole, by crossing two of the hardest hitters in the game: G13 and pure Hash Plant!

Origin: Amsterdam (Sensi Seed Bank) Indica Dominant Lineage: OG Kush X Pure Hash PlantTaste: Berry flavored, sweet, woody, peppery aftertaste, smoky Buzz: Bring on the red-eyes; Resinous, opiate-like, very similar to a hash high.

LA Confidential: OG LA Affie x Afghani, 100% IndicaFlowering Time: 7-8 weeksYield: 350-450g/m2

1st Kush Cup Las Vegas 2007 (independent grower)1st Indica IC420 Breederscup 20052nd Indica HT Cannabis Cup 20053rd Indica HT Cannabis Cup 20043rd Kush Cup Las Vegas 2006Strain of the Year 2006 Hightimes

This is a great medical strain as it relieves pain and helps eliminate insomnia. For the everyday user, the high of this herb is psychedelic

and energetic, with a hammer. This girl is a heavy eater. There are two real phenotypes of the Confidential and they will both finish in 45-56 days. One is a bit more hardy, but both equal in knock down drag out stone. Pre-veg’ing is advised to maximize the yield. Thinning the large fan leaves in the later part of the flower cycle will promote more light getting to the lower buds, thus increasing your yield. With an incredible smell and unique LA flavor, DNA’ s LA Confidential has won many awards.

Sharksbreath: Great White Shark x Jamaican Lambsbread, 80% Indica : 20% SativaFlowering Time: 9 weeksYield: 500-600g/m2

Along with an amazing flavor and smell, she is easy to grow. The Sharksbreath is a highly potent, top-notch weed and a connoisseurs delight. Short, stout plants pack on frosty and very dense colas. Feed her heavy and provide good airflow to prevent bud rot. She is best grown in a Sea of Green. This plant has been called the “cash crop” plant, yielding well above average! She is a good plant to breed with as she’s very stable and has proven herself as the mother to the Martian Mean Green!

Kushberry: OG Kush Heirloom x Oregon Blueberry, 70% Indica : 30% SativaFlowering Time: 8-9 weeksYield: 400-500g/m2

1st Outdoor Spannabis 2008

This is the perfect blend of two West Coast flavors. The blueberry male from Oregon was used for his taste and vigor in combination with the fuely, lemon taste of the OG Kush from LA. The Kushberry is a shorter, stalkier plant which produces a decent yield. The exotic flavor doesn’t rival its strength; she is one of our strongest strains. She is berry good for medical use as she

relieves pain and helps with sleep and eating disorders.

Cannalope Haze: Haze Brothers x Mexican (Michoacán), 95% Sativa : 5% IndicaFlowering Time: 8 weeksYield: 500-600g/m2

2nd Sativa IC420 Breederscup 20053rd Sativa IC420 Breederscup 2004

This strain is renowned for its very melon and sweet smelling buds. This translates into a very nice taste and smoothness on both the inhale and exhale. The high is heady hitting in the temples and eyes. She is a good yielder and an easy to grow plant that is a fast finisher. Mild Haze qualities with an expansive smoke and good resin production results in great water hash. This cross was made with seeds acquired by D & A separately from trusted friends. The

Cannalope is a great strain to breed with because of it’s low flowering time.

Cannadential: LA Confidential x Cannalope Haze, 50% Sativa : 50% IndicaFlowering Time: 8 weeksYield: 500-600g/m2

Grows like Cannalope, tastes like LA Con. This plant is the perfect mix of indica/sativa. The male was selected for his growth patterns, like Cannalope. As a result, a heavy yield, fruity smell with LA power! We came a bit closer to the original LA mom in flavor and doubled the yield of the original LA Confidential!!! Also, she can handle heavy nutrients. Anything crossed into the LA results in something special, every time!!!

ReCon: LA Confidential x Cannadential, 80% Indica : 20% SativaFlowering Time: 8-9 weeksYield: 600+g/m2

The ReCon is a perfect blend of two parts LA and one part Cannalope. She is extremely frosty and her nugs are tastiest if they’re harvested between 8 and 9 weeks of flowering. This is a heavy yielding strain as her buds grow almost to the dirt! There is very low leaf to bud ratio making her easy to trim. The Cannadential father was chosen for it’s indica traits and at times, the ReCon seems stronger than even the LA Confidential. There is plenty of magic in this cross for sure!!

Martian Mean Green: Sharksbreath x G13 Haze, 60% Sativa : 40% IndicaFlowering Time: 9-10 weeksYield: 500-600g/m2

1st Sativa HT Cannabis Cup3rd Sativa HT Cannabis CupStrain of the Year 2006 Hightimes

The Martian Mean Green is a combination of one of DNA’s flagship strains, Sharksbreath, and the1988, G13 Haze. It grows like an indica, having one main cola and few side branches. There are some phenotypes that finish in 9 weeks, but most finish in 10 with one very hazy smelling plant going 12 weeks. She smells like nothing else in your garden, even veteran growers agree. She’s from outer space!

Sweet Haze: Skunk Haze x Cannalope Haze, 70% Sativa : 30% IndicaFlowering Time: 9-10 weeksYield: 400-500g/m2

She is a tall one, but not airy like some hazes. She managed to keep the yield of the Cannalope with more of a haze bite. Also, the flower time has been cut down extremely compared to most hazes and early flowering is recommended for this strain because of her stretch. Sea of Green methods are good for this plant. The old school skunk meets fruity haze! Be patient, she comes on strong in the end with a pungent sticky coat of crystals.

Super Cannalope: Cannalope Haze x G13 Haze, 75% Sativa : 25% IndicaFlowering Time: 9-10 weeksYield: 450-550g/m2

We pumped up the Cannalope by touching it with the G13 Haze male, which produced two strains in our catalogue, Super Cannalope and C13 Haze. The Superlope is the Cannalope alternative that definitely has the Haze element. The main differences between the Superlope and the C13 are flower time and haziness. This girl leans more towards the Cannalope in growth patterns, x-mas tree like and very even. She is hazier than the Cannalope and not as hazy as the C13. This is for the gardener who prefers more haze in their fruity Cannalope.

Chocolope: OG Chocolate Thai x Cannalope Haze, 95% Sativa : 5% IndicaFlowering Time: 8-9+ weeksYield: 500-600g/m2

Strain of the Year 2007 Hightimes1st Hydro Highlife Cup 20082nd Coffeeshop HT Cannabis Cup 20072nd Hydro Highlife Cup 20073rd Indoor Bio Spannabis 20083rd Hollyweed Cup 2006

The Chocolope, which was originally named D-Line, is a growers dream plant. She is easy to grow, produces heavy nugs, large yields and is unique. This sativa dominant plant likes to grow tall but can be trained to grow out. For this cross we choose our Original Chocolate Thai female to cross to the Cannalope male. We then started backcrossing this to achieve a shorter flower time and still retain some of the OG Choc. Thai qualities. What makes her so special is when you smoke her you taste that chocolate you’ve been missing from the 80’s. This is the ‘ONE’! Not much haze, but you don’t need it. It has been entered twice in cannabis competitions and won both times!

Anunnaki: California Hashplant x Cannalope Haze, 80% Sativa 20% IndicaFlowering Time: 9-10+ weeksYield: 500-600g/m2

This one is consistently tall! She will continue growing vertically into the 5th week of flower. Super cropping is a must in most indoor situations to control size. She produces buds late in the flower cycle so have patience with her. She is best grown as Sea Of Green, triggering them into flower right from clone. This uplifting strain makes great redish-color hash with huge yields. Grown correctly, the Anunnaki will live up to her name and produce above average yields.

C13 Haze: Super Cannalope x G13 Haze, 80% Sativa : 20% IndicaFlowering Time: 10-11 weeksYield: 400-500g/m2

C13 is one of the hazier strains in our catalogue. She is sensitive to nutrients so feed her lightly. Her buds start forming later in the flower cycle producing good yields. We suggest flowering her at a young age unless you have tall ceilings. She leans more towards the G13 Haze in growth and smell and also makes great water hash. C13 is a medicinal strain, relieving pain and other anxiety related symptoms.

Rocklock: Warlock x Rockstar, 80% Indica : 20% SativaFlowering Time: 8 weeksYield: 500-600g/m2

This strain is a mix of heavy indicas finishing in 8 weeks. This strain is for anyone wanting big indy yields of heavy medicinal headstash! Go Rocklock and Get Couchlocked. Good for high density planting, large crystal covered buds and resin production. The Rocklock is one of DNA’s original strains that is perfect for the novice grower producing big buds with the littlest attention!

Connie Chung: LA Confidential x G13 Haze, 60% Indica : 40% SativaFlowering Time: 9-10 weeksYield: 400-500g/m2

The parents of this strain speak for themselves...the classic LA flavor X the old school G13 Haze!! This strain has different phenotypes that vary in finishing times. Most should be harvested in 9 weeks with the odd plant finishing in 10. We feel if you happen to find a pheno that goes over 10 weeks, it’s not really worth the extra time. This cross has proved to be a heavy hitter and guarantees to make you “Chinese!” Have fun!!

Pure Afghan: Pure Landrace Afghani, 100% IndicaFlowering Time: 7-8 weeksYield: 450-550g/m2

The Pure Afghan is an exclusive landrace from the Mazari Sharif region of Afghanistan. This is the only DNA strain that is bred outside of Holland and are from a fresh seed stock. She is a short plant from the mountainous region resulting in her finishing early.

Sour Cream: Sour Diesel Heirloom x G13 Haze, 70% Sativa : 30% IndicaFlowering Time: 10 weeksYield: 500-600g/m2

The best of both worlds, the classic Haze flavor mixed with Sour and the G13 yield! Here we have a Haze plant with Sour nuggets over and over. The original Sour Diesel cutting was used in combination with the G13 Haze to bring Sour style buds with haze flavor. With the G13 Haze male in the mix, there is a possibility of some phenotypes to go longer than 10 weeks. It is a Sour Creamy blend of sativa with a dash of indica. This plant has an amazing mix of Haze n’ Sour!

Lemon Skunk: Skunk, 60% Sativa : 40% IndicaFlowering Time: 8-9 weeksYield: 400-500g/m2

1st Indoor Hydro Spannabis 2008/1st Outdoor Highlife Cup 2007

This strain is a cross between two Skunks, the chosen phenotype selected for its lemon characteristics. The Lemon mother has been kept for over 20 years in Las Vegas and the father was chosen here in Holland. The male was donated by Eddie, formally the owner of one of the oldest and most prestigious seed banks in the Netherlands. This original prize male was selected and used in many breeding projects throughout the years. The Lemon Skunk will grow tall and is a good yielder. She has great smelling buds. Her buds are light green with thick orange hairs. She has a high calyx to leaf ratio. This strain is the tastiest and sweetest if she is cut down between 50 and 56 days. We would like to thank the Lemon Man and Eddie for making this possible!

RESERVA PRIVADA explanation: Reserva Privada is a West Coast collective of breeders who until now had no place to showcase their creations. These breeders are all protected by medicinal laws within their states but still wanted to remain nameless. With our roots being West Coast, we came together to help bring the world these special strains under the name RESERVA PRIVADA. (Most of which you can’t get anywhere else and are indigenous to the West Coast i.e. Heirloom strains etc.)

For the first year we sold these seeds exclusively at our shop in Amsterdam and not to any distributors. One reason for this was to create demand and to see how the word of mouth would dictate Reserva’s future. The second reason was to narrow down the strains, when we started there were nearly 20 strains. After some fine-tuning, RP is ready for the masses. Now we are offering RP under DNA Genetics, not only at our shop but also everywhere else seeds are sold along side DNA. In the last year or so, we have looked at the variety and brought you the first 6 selections for the RESERVA PRIVADA...

1. Purple Wreck2. Coletrain3. Apollo 13 Indica4. Apollo 13 Sativa5. Sweet Timer6. RESERVA CONNOISSEURS MIXAll of the Reserva Privada breeders have been making seeds and breeding for years. They all make selections for breeding purposes to ensure the strongest possible hybrids. Some of these crosses are made from clone only strains, some made by the cubing process. All seeds were traded through friends and fine-tuned in the DNA laboratories. DNA Genetics does not employ any breeders, nor do these breeders have any affiliation with DNA. We just share a mutual love for this plant!!!

Purple Wreck: Purple Urkel x Train Wreck (T4), 60% Indica : 40% SativaFlowering Time: 8-9 weeksYield: 400-500g/m2

Urkel is one of California’s most sought after strain. It demands the highest price in any circle. It was crossed with the Train Wreck (T4) male. This improved the vigor of the Urkel, a notorious slow grower. The Purple Wreck has large Train Wreck buds with purple hues. The sweet fruity aroma of the Urkel dominates the cross. The Purple Wreck

is short, early flowering and produces dense nugs.

Sweet Timer: Sweet Tooth x Old Timer, 70% Indica : 30% SativaFlowering Time: 8-9 weeksYield: 400-500g/m2

Sweet Tooth is known for a pink grapefruit flavor and short flowering times. Old Timer is a very resinous, easy to grow strain. Combined, they make this cross an excellent strain for beginners to grow. This strain produces heavy yields every time. She grows one main cola with many side branches. The Sweet Timer was a clone-only strain found in California’s medical dispensaries and, only now, is it offered in seed form.

Reserva Connoisseurs Mix: The Reserva Connoisseurs Mix is the Reserva Privada strains that did not make the 1st cut. You could get any of the following: Grape FX, G99, Blueberry, Afghan Big Bud, Vermonster, C99, Hash Timer, or Old Timer x Sweettooth, Flo, Hashplant, Bubba Kush.

Apollo 13 Indica + Apollo 13 Sativa:

Apollo 13 is a cross between the Genius mother and the P75 father. The indica is more of a heavier high and the sativa is more of an uplifting, psychedelic high. They produce heavy yields with resinous floral clusters. She is very sticky and pungent smelling and matures rapidly finishing in 7-8 weeks. The buds are easy to manicure and the final product is true eye candy. The sativa is an even x-mas tree shape, whereas, the indica grows a main center cola with few side branches. Choosing your phenotype may be difficult, but whichever you choose you will be satisfied.

Cole Train: Jasmine x Train Wreck (T4), 70% Indica : 30% SativaFlowering Time: 8 weeksYield: 400-500g/m2

2nd Outdoor HIghlife 20083rd Outdoor Spannabis 2008

The Cole Train is a Humboldt, CA local strain. Jasmine, a mid 90’s Silver Haze Hybrid, was crossed with the Train Wreck (T4) male. The result is a large yielding, early finishing strain developed in Coastal California that strives in marginal conditions. She is resistant to mold and a nutrient hog. The old world Columbian flavor makes the ‘erb a treat to smoke!

It had been raining for days, weeks it seemed. Then, one beautiful Saturday in God’s country, the clouds broke and the sun sang for one perfect day of peace, love, music, and an epic smoke down of the finest medical cannabis in Montana.

One might expect a Cannabis Cup in Montana to look like a few hillbilly sto-ners passing joints around a campfire and yelling random rankings across the flames. The scene my photographer and I pulled up to was a crowd of about 500 people, a giant, newly constructed stage for music, vendors of all kinds, selling everything from wood-fired pizza to tie-dye underwear, and yes, a massive bonfire. What boggled my mind the most was the fact we weren’t at some large park or event space designed for a party of this magnitude, but were simply guests of Ty, a retired hippy and long-time resident of Olney, MT.

Over 50 people came together to set up the first Cannabliss Cup on Ty’s property, 12 alone just to build the stage. The event was coordinated by “El Presidente,” affectionately known to the community as Briar, and anybody else he could find to pitch in a helping hand.

“It started as a band practice” said Briar. “We were all caregivers, so some-one asked why we haven’t had a cup yet. We started planning it that same night in October. We wanted to bring the people in the industry together to share their hard work, and provide an event where patients could find the strains that work best for them. And we wanted to make it affordable for people, so everyone could come out.” (Tickets were five dollars, twenty for a judge‘s pass.)

So after nine months of careful planning on Briar‘s part, and years of finely tuned growing techniques from across Montana, I stepped up to the judges table. 16 strains later, I couldn’t remember where I was, or how the hell I got there. The smoke was delicious and the buds denser than the Tea Par-ty. Some memorable strains from the judge’s corner included Sweet Tooth, The Purps, and a T Rex Kush strain which tasted like Sour Patch Kids and punched my brain in the face with an immediate, zippy kind of high. A strain called “Eva” looked at least 70 percent white from THC crystals, and a care-giver handed me his AK strain which was so heavy he described it as “a bud

that makes you wanna slap your mom.” I hit that shit and all I could do was slowly nod my head. Sorry, mom.

The final results came back with the strain “Boombastic” at third, “Ron Bur-gundy” coming in at second. and the “Dragon” strain taking the top spot. Number one and two were both grown by Good Medicine Caregivers and Flathead Valley Providers, a collective here in the northwest corner which boasts 70 years combined experience, and world class strains cross bred and developed over time right here in Montana. The top two winning strains were grown hydroponically in a bucket system, using 1000w Hortilux HPS blubs, Sunspot 8 reflectors, and House and Garden‘s “Aqua Flakes” nutrient system.

After everyone was good and high from judging, the music began and the “Tokin Hotties” came out. Ty sparked the fire at 4:20 and we sent our smoke to the the sky for the rest of the night, laughing, dancing, singing, and sha-ring. I was given everything I consumed that day, and couldn’t have found a better crowd of people had I assembled them myself. I was generously handed brownies, fudge bars, hashish, hemp oil, and hot dogs. One guy simply asked if I wanted to try his weed then handed me a fistful of buds. I finally cracked a PBR towards the end of the night and set my notepad down to dance with the people I love in the the last best place.

At then end of the night, my photographer River loaded me into the passenger seat of my car and tousled my hair. “Have a good day at work?” he asked.

“Spectacular.” I said. “I love this kind of journalism.”

“I love Montana.” he said.

“Me too, my friend. Me too.”

am doing this article so people may have a better understanding of the medicinal values of hemp and why the system is so afraid of a plant. It seems that practically all hemp has medicinal virtues, but the medicinal values from strain to strain can vary a great deal. Hemp is the most misunderstood of all healing herbs and it also happens to

be the most harmless and effective healing plant on earth.

Before I go into all this, I will try to explain as simply as possible why governments and those in control have kept the truth about this plant hidden. Throughout history many lies and deceptions were employed by those in powerful positions to keep the public at large ignorant in regards to hemps medicinal values.

Even religion played a disturbing role in keeping the truth about this plant from the public. For the most part, this was done to keep the human race living in wonder and under control. You see people that use hemp properly tend to question things and quite often will not go along blindly with the rest of the public at large.

For a very long time this has been duly noted by those who are trying to maintain control. So for many of those in authority throughout the ages, keeping the truth about the healing power of this plant from the public was a necessity if they were to maintain control and remain in charge.

Indeed if the public knew the truth, then everyone would be using this plant

properly as a medication to maintain good health. A situation like this would cause many more people to start questioning the so called powers that be. And that, my friends, is what they are so afraid of. Do you think that big money concerns want to try to deal with a public who are now thinking much more rationally? A public that will no longer swallow the lies and deceptions and a public that will now put a stop to their policies and projects that are harming the human race and this planet?

You see, folks, it’s a classic battle between good and evil. If we do not put a stop to the agenda of the people who are now running things, the human race may become extinct due to the damage we are allowing them to do to us and this earth. Therefore there is only one rational thing to do - legalize hemp´s use as medicine and put this world back on a course that makes some sense.

From the past performance of those who are currently in charge, it is abundantly clear that they have not been working for the greater good of the people. Obviously, what has been motivating them is the pursuit of money and power and all this has been done at the expense of the public´s health and well being. In the future, this type of behavior cannot be tolerated from people who are put in positions of public trust. The goal of anyone working in such a position must be to do the job properly and always work for the greater good of the people. Everything must be done with an open book policy to the public. Also their work must be scrutinized by an honest news media whose only aim is to see that the public gets the truth. It is not hard to change the world in which we live, all that is required is the need and will to make it happen.

What people seem to fail to understand about the hemp plant is the great diversity of medicinal uses from strain to strain. Some strains are more effective as a pain killer than others, while other types may be better for a diabetic or someone who is trying to lower their ocular pressure with glaucoma. Luckily it seems that good cannabis indica strains are an effective treatment for all types of cancer.

There are now thousands of different types of hemp that have come into being due to breeders crossing different varieties. The three main varieties of this plant are cannabis indica, cannabis sativa and cannabis ruderalis. Pure indicas produce a very sedative medication that is effective in the treatment of most medical conditions. Good indica strains that have been crossed with sativas or ruderalis can also possess this heavy sedative medicinal effect.

But it depends a great deal on the percentage of indica that is present in these new crosses as to how effective they will be as a medication.

Generally the higher the indica content, the more sedative and effective these crosses will be as a medicine.

Pure sativas, on the other hand, produce an energetic effect which is not conducive to promote healing in most cases and can interfere with the sleeping patterns of those who try to use it as a medication. Medications produced from pure sativas or sativa dominant indica or ruderalis crosses can be beneficial in the treatment of someone suffering from depression, or skin conditions that can be treated topically. For ingestion purposes, oils produced from sativas and sativa dominant crosses, must be used with caution. Such oils can be unbelievably energizing when ingested and this

effect, in my opinion, does not promote the healing process.

In the last few years, ruderalis has gained a great deal of attention in the hemp world. As I understand it, ruderalis in many cases is being crossed with indicas and sativas, to make these strains more hardy and mold resistant. I cannot voice an opinion as yet on how effective medications produced from this variety would be medicinally. Since I lack the experience working with ruderalis varieties, I do not feel qualified at this time to offer my views.

For someone new to the world of hemp all this can be quite bewildering. Due to all the breeding that has been done, the old way of just looking at the large leaves on the plant to determine if it is an indica or sativa can no longer be trusted. Traditionally, the large leaves on sativa strains were long and thin while the large leaves of indicas were much broader in appearance. Now a plant can look like an indica, yet exhibit the energizing traits of a sativa and vice versa. All this can be very hard on a beginner so I would suggest that people approach this problem in the same way I did.

The easiest way to determine what traits bud material has within it is to simply smoke some and see what effect it has on you. When people bring hemp to me to produce this medication, I roll a joint. By the time I have smoked about half of it, I know if it possesses the sedative effect I am looking for and that is how I select the material I use.

If you are going to buy hemp to produce medication and do not smoke it yourself, take someone along who is an experienced smoker and have them smoke some of the material you are thinking of purchasing. Tell them that you are looking for a sedative effect and you do not want to buy something that is uplifting or energizing.

Also it is a good idea to carry a pocket magnifier with you, so you can examine the resin the bud is covered in. Good bud looks like it is covered in frost, most of the time it can even be seen with the naked eye. Once you get used to producing the oil, one can often get a pretty good idea how much oil a strain may produce per pound just by looking at the bud material with a magnifier. The resin you are observing is the medicine and generally the more that is present on the bud material, the larger the amount of oil it will produce.

From my experience, practically all indica dominant strains can produce a medication that is an effective treatment for all medical conditions. Even people suffering from depression can benefit from the effects of medicine produced from good indicas. So stay away from sativas to produce medicine for most internal purposes. But if you want to treat a skin condition or skin cancer topically, I think you will find that sativas can be quite effective in the treatment of such things.

There is no question that some strains produce a much more potent medication than others for different medical conditions. In the future that is where the research must be done. We already know the miracles this medication is capable of. Now all we have to find out is which strains are the most beneficial to treat different conditions. This can all be accomplished using a simple process of elimination and the research can be done while we are healing the people. I hope my explanations in this article have been helpful to the many people in need of this medication.

am not going to talk about the corruption that is holding this plant´s medicinal use back. I am here today to simply speak about the healing power of the hemp plant that I have personally witnessed and what I think causes it.

From my experience all forms of disease and conditions are treatable and often curable with the use of high grade hemp oil as a treatment.

Due to its harmless nature as a medicine, hemp oil is in a class all by itself. Even something like aspirin tablets that is looked upon as being harmless by the public causes thousands of deaths worldwide each year.

If you are looking for a safe medication, look no further than what the hemp plant can provide. On top of all that it’s a medicine we can all grow and produce ourselves. Also there is no need for a doctor’s supervision with its use.

When the hemp plant is grown for medicinal use, you now have your own medical system that is much safer and effective than anything our current medical system provides. You still may require a doctor to set your broken leg, but you will no longer need the chemicals they have been pushing upon us, as medicine.

Hemp is medicine for the masses and no one has the right to control its use. We are all different and we all have different tolerances for practically everything. So it is up to each and every one of us to determine for ourselves how much oil we require to maintain good health.

Often people have come to me who after years of treatment by the medical system did not even have a diagnosis for their conditions. But the oil exercised its amazing healing power and their medical problems were solved.

Another aspect of the use of hemp as medicine is its anti-aging properties. As we age, our vital organs deteriorate and of course this impairs the function of these organs.

Hemp oil rejuvenates vital organs even in small doses it is very common for people to report to me that they feel 20 to 30 years younger after only ingesting the oil for a short time.

Now let’s take it to the next level. What about people who ingest larger quantities of oil over a longer period of time like myself? After nine years on the oil my body does not appear to be that of a sixty year old man. Instead, my body has the appearance of someone who is a great deal younger. When I have the oil at my disposal, I take about a quarter of a gram a day. I find this amount of oil each day allows me to deal much easier with the condition my 1997 head injury left me with. Of course, due to short supply, quite often I must go without so my own treatment has been erratic to say the least.

From my own experience with the oil I cannot help but wonder what would happen if a person was to ingest larger quantities of oil over a longer period of time. If a person were to do this, can they actually reverse the aging process and grow younger instead of ageing.

From the oil’s effect on my own body, by all appearances this seems to be the case. Someday soon when I have enough oil I intend to start taking a gram a day for a year to see what effect it has on my body and well being.

Many people who have taken the oil have stated that they thought it to be the fountain of youth. From my own experiences with the oil I believe this to be true.

Throughout our lives the system has told us they want preventive medicine. Now what greater preventive medicine could there possibly be than hemp oil? Judging from what I have seen, if children were given tiny doses of oil each day like a supplement, diseases like cancer diabetes MS and many other conditions could be eliminated entirely, from their future.

Many people say hemp should be kept away from children entirely, but I disagree. From my point of view, it’s the vaccines and chemicals the medical system currently provides that should be kept away from our children, not hemp oil.

If hemp presented any danger to our children, why is it that the healthiest baby’s on earth are born in Jamaica to mothers who use hemp? If hemp really did present a danger, why are these children born so healthy? Surely when

a child is in the womb, it is very susceptible to things the mother takes that could harm its development. Yet it appears that hemp did not harm these children, indeed it seems hemp actually aided in their development. Now if hemp is good for an unborn child, would it not be beneficial for children of all ages?

Now I am not talking about getting children high, for once a person gets accustomed to this medication, they do not even feel or exhibit effects from the oil they are ingesting, other than good health.

Hemp oil is a safe and harmless medication that all age groups can benefit from by ingesting or using topically and that goes for our children too. So if the system truly wants preventive medicine, here it is. Now why are they refusing to use it?

I know the word cure-all is a hard pill to swallow. When I worked in the medical system, such terms were thought of as a joke.

By definition, a panacea should be a remedy that will cure all diseases and prolong life indefinitely. I do not know about the indefiniteness, because nothing lasts forever, but after you see for yourself what this oil can do like I did, what else could it be called?

What other medicine works on everything and in many cases can cure thought-to-be incurable conditions? What else can heal diabetic ulcers, skin cancers or heal third-degree burns in no time leaving no scars?

I’ll tell you what other medicine - no other medicine. So why on god’s green earth is it not being used? As a medication to ease our suffering and to heal us, for there is nothing better.

Me and many others have gone through reams of so-called scientific studies which I found to be mostly doubletalk and most of these studies were about synthetic THC which bears little resemblance to natural THC and its associated cannabinoids found in the hemp plant.

After studying all this scientific jargon, I had learned what amounted to nothing. But the oil continued to work the miracles so who was I to question it.

I had just about given up hope that we would ever find out why the oil worked so well for all these different medical conditions. But recently a friend named Batya Stark has provided me with what I think is all the missing pieces to the puzzle.

She has sent me a great deal of information about melatonin and the pineal gland which produces it. It seems that the pineal gland is in the driver’s seat when it comes to healing our bodies.

The melatonin it produces is an essential part of healing and it is also the most potent antioxidant known to man. When the function of the pineal gland is impaired, it produces much less melatonin and therefore we become sick and diseased.

Studies have been released that show people suffering from cancer have low levels of melatonin. Also studies have shown that just smoking hemp can raise the melatonin levels in our bodies. So one can only imagine what the oil that is in a concentrated state can do to increase melatonin levels.

As we age, we acidify, and cancer thrives in an acidic environment. So bringing the body´s pH level up is very important when you are suffering from cancer and many other conditions. The oil works to do this but also other things can be of great benefit. Simple things like baking soda and lemon juice in water two or three times a day can raise the body´s PH very rapidly.

Tumours are simply the symptom of an underlying condition that is present in the bodies of people who are suffering from cancer. Indeed this underlying condition must be treated to cure the cancer and prevent it from returning.

Melatonin travels to every cell in our bodies and is the key to good health. And I am not just talking about treating cancer. It seems that melatonin levels are important to treat all conditions. Now all you have to do is connect the dots like Batya and I have; it all adds up.

Hemp oil promotes full body healing and raises melatonin levels thousands of times higher than normal. When the pineal gland produces vast amounts

of melatonin, it causes no harm to the body but is very detrimental to the disease or condition you are suffering from and indeed may even eliminate it entirely. From what I can gather, all this along with your pH being raised while the oil is detoxifying your body we think explains the vast majority of hemp oil’s healing effects on the body.

Now myself and those around me are not doctors or scientists and I, like you, can only wonder at why it is not them bringing this to the public. But after years of research on our part, this is the only thing we have found that connects all the dots and explains in a simple way why this medicine can do what it does.

Now we must look at what could be causing the function of our pineal gland to become impaired. Much of the time it is caused by our own lifestyles and things like cell phones that we come in contact with everyday.

Companies that produce cell phones do not like to talk about it and would prefer that we did the same. But our bodies run on electrical impulses. Now do you think it’s a good idea to put something against your head that produces an electromagnetic field which can interfere with the electrical impulses in our bodies that keep us healthy?

Cell phones are just one of the culprits. Look at studies of cancer rates of people who live near and around high tension power lines. I myself did not understand the importance of all this on our health, until a friend of mine cured his heart condition by having two electrical problems in his home repaired. Even electrical problems in your home, can cause serious health problems for you and your family.

It´s frightening that so many things we come into contact with frequently can harm our health. But still there are a number of other things that do the same.

Can someone out there give me a rational explanation as to why fluoride seems to be in almost everything these days? Please do not try to tell me it’s to prevent tooth decay. Didn’t Hitler use fluoride in his death camps to keep the inmates calm so they would not try to escape or revolt?

I wonder what possible purpose it serves our system to be giving us so much fluoride. Does what´s going on currently not SMELL a little like a death camp to you? I can only wonder what effect all this fluoride is having on our brains and our pineal glands.

What about the effects of all those chemicals and poisons the doctors have been feeding to us? Would these chemicals interfere with the function of our pineal glands and could they also acidify our bodies more quickly?

I will leave that one for all you medical experts out there to figure out.

Now what about our food supply? The meat that is sold to the public in Canada and some other countries cannot even be sold in Europe. It seems that Canadian beef is looked down upon by Europeans because it has too many contaminates like antibiotics and growth hormones. Do you not find it strange that this meat is deemed unhealthy in Europe? Yet it is freely sold to anyone that is dumb enough to eat it in North America.

Now what about fruits and vegetables and all the other fare we find in supermarkets in North America? Pesticides, additives, preservatives, genetic modification - does this not all sound just yummy and possibly somewhat deadly?

But of course no one in authority has stood up to do something about this situation, so I guess the food they are selling the public must be good for us. Trust your government because they would never allow anyone to sell us something that was not good for us, now would they?

So as you can plainly see, practically everything that we come into contact with can have an effect on our health and wellbeing. And of course many things I have just mentioned could have a devastating effect on the pineal gland´s ability to function properly.

It’s almost as if they knew that by interfering with the function of the pineal gland, they could cause us to become unhealthy and in need of their wonderful chemical medications. But of course only someone who is a conspiracy nut could think in such a way. Do you think the same as I do about all this? If so, then welcome to the asylum.

The Cannabis Consumer: Grow Magazine’s guide through the latest and greatest in cannabis culture, accessories and novelty items. Cigar Mechanic:

Is there anything more disappointing to witness than a crispy, flavorless, dried out batch of what once was dank herb? For the smoker and seller, marijuana losing its moisture is a devastating blow—the high suffers; the price plummets. We do have our primitive marijuana rejuvenation techniques: bread, orange peels, wet paper towels

inside plastic bags, and countless others; and usually, the results are always less than desirable. May they become too wet, have unevenly distributed moisture, or no moisture, getting your dry buds back to a beautiful state is tough… always has been. Not anymore! Cigar Mechanics have created a small, plastic case that has made marijuana-moisture-rejuvenation easier than ever. Place it in the middle of the “big bag,” and watch your buds come back to life by the handful.

The Vape Store: To know your buds, you must SEE your buds! Quality control is key. Do you really know what your smoking? Were those massive trichome patches on that purple nugget or was it powdery mildew? We all believe that by glancing at, peering closely into, and fondling our nugs we can actually get a good inspection of the product, but as any connoisseur knows, the real quality-THC-detection test is placing it under a microscope. But who the

hell has a microscope on them? And don’t you need a light to make this officially scientific? Well, the designers at The Vape Store have done just that: they’ve fabricated a product that is small enough to fit inside your pocket, but has a high-powered microscope and an interior light attachment inside the casing, so anywhere you buy your buds, you can truly view your buds.

The Original Smokebuddy:

Oh how I long to of had this invention during my freshman year in the dorms. Back in those days dorm tokers had to hide sessions the old school way: we blew our weed smoke into cardboard toilet paper cases wrapped in fabric softener…. This was the magic method for keeping marijuana smoker under the raps in restricted areas, and it was almost always a disaster. By using The Original Smokebuddy, cannabis enthusiasts can eliminate smoke and odor entirely with a device no larger than a grenade—a stoner grenade, in fact, which, somehow, when you blow massive amounts of smoke into, makes that smoke… disappear. In your home when the wife isn’t watching or mother is furious; in the office when your boss is out; in traffic on the way to work or school; and also perfect for road trips through the bible belt, the Original Smokebuddy is a must for all smokers on the down low.

420 Science:

Today, amongst connoisseurs, plastic bags are a thing of the past. Pill cases work, but are they airtight? And how much can you fit inside a small plastic case? Preserving and storing marijuana properly is a must, and people are beginning to realize the necessity of a good case for their chronic. Introducing: 420 Science. 420 Science offers storage and preservation solutions to smokers across the globe by providing the highest quality marijuana cases available. Durable glass, absolutely airtight seals, numerous sizes to accommodate big and small buds, unique labels, seven new screw top designs, if your looking for the best place to store the best buds, stop by 420Science.com and search through over 100 jars to choose from.

Formula 420: Cleaning out your favorite bongs, pipes, bubblers and other glass can be a tedious, often disgusting affair. Whether using alcohol, salt, boiling water, it’s always a mess, and your hands are always coated in resin by the time its over, no matter how careful you were. Now, those days are over. The folks at Formula 420 have concocted a cleaning fluid made from all-natural ingredients capable of turning the most resin-coated piece into glistening smokeless perfection, in a matter of seconds. Beyond glass cleaners the company also offers a wide range of other products such as Smog Odors (for removing “that” odor from rooms) and Spill Clean (for those unfortunate paraphernalia party fouls).

Cones:

Not everyone is capable of, or has the desire to take the time, to roll up the perfect joint. But, if you have a pack of Cones around, the perfect joint can be born in minutes, and the most novice of smokers can roll them. Why? How? Because they are pre-rolled joints… all one has to do is stuff them. Tourists have been enjoying the convenience of Cones in Amsterdam for decades, and now, as marijuana policy liberalizes in the States, casual smokers across this fair nation are quickly taking to the packaged joint.

Element Rolling Papers:

Rolling Papers is becoming big business, and the push towards healthy papers is the industry trend. However, these new “healthy” rolling papers, though better for you, in many cases aren’t that easy to… roll. Some are too thin, some too thick; many of the newest varieties don’t stick very well, some don’t stick at all. For my tastes, the best rolling paper on the market—from the old-fashioned zig zag variety to the most hip, overpriced papers out there—is hands down, Elements.

The only thing that’s really gangster about this greenhouse is what’s in it. The kindest O.G. phenotype we have ever seen grown in a Greenhouse. “O.G. is a very difficult strain to grow in a greenhouse or even with full sun”, Jim tells us as we approach the 40 acre compound where he has a complex of 5 greenhouses. “We are constantly flowering.” Jim points out the tarps that he uses to cover the greenhouses every night. This is a technique known as light-deprivation. Pulling a thick, light-proof, tarp over the plants to trigger the entire greenhouse to go into flower. With an ingeneous rigging system, Jim and his partner are able to completely cover all 5 greenhouses in less than 20
