The Journey So FarWow! It has been a fantastic 2 years. A journey filled with ups and downs. Excitement, frustrations, Joy, Annoyance but filled with satisfaction and gratitude to God.This Journey actually started in England in 2005 (about 7 years ago). I was hugely overweight but seriously in denial as I did not take my weight seriously after trying so hard to lose weight but each venture ending in failure, I soon gave up after all my husband did not complain (another story). At some point I needed to lose weight for health reasons and it was no longer a choice. I had to lose weight in order to have another child after 10 years of trying. (Today I am blessed with 3 children, Adetoun 15, Adekunbi 5 and Adeleke 3) . I was introduced to CWP and I decided I had nothing to lose by giving it a shot, after all I had tried everything else. The results were amazing and I lost a huge amount of weight. I was so hooked and passionate about the diet I would bore total strangers to death about its benefits. I also derived pleasure from showing my before pictures. I then decided to become a CWP consultant on a part time basis but continued my main job, working as a Project Manager. But I knew I had found my calling with CWP I come from a family plagued with weight issues and started thinking about how to get the product to Nigeria to help my siblings . Then I had a brainwave: “why not approach Cambridge Manufacturing to become a distributor in Nigeria” I was turned down but I kept bombarding Eileen and Jane with emails, phone calls, feasibility studies and my Business plan. Finally they agreed but on the condition that I would be solely in charge of operations in Nigeria, Hence becoming a sole distributor in the region.

I started 2 years ago in my house with just 2 clients and a few products, then Fola joined me after going to the UK for her training. It was a struggle, I did not

understand the Nigerian environment having lived outside for almost 20years and I almost gave up but for the support of my husband and my siblings I would have given up. I could not understand why goods are not delivered on

time, why people will not turn up for appointments and don't bother calling. Why no one ever keeps to time and will not apologise for it.

Why people are rude to me on the phone and expect me to accept it! Why the police will stop me for carrying goods in a private car! I eventually got an office and a 30 minute journey into the office would take me 2 hours plus. I needed to run a generator 24/7 because of irregular power supply. My gosh, I longed to go back “home” to England to sanity! My friend Toyin Onadele (who is also a consultant) would call me a mumu! This is Nigeria, “get with the program”. “you have to be sharp” Hmmm sharp ke, I am a sharp girl ke! Or so I thought until I got faced with all sorts of issues. Today I have a wonderful team of consultants and together we have helped a significant number of people (male and female) discover their “inner va va voom”. The highlight was when I received an award in Cyprus from the Parent company on behalf of my team for business

development, in recognition of an amazing growth within a period of 12 months .

It has been a worthwhile and amazing Journey and it can only get better. I look forward to celebrating 10 years and more and CWP being the market leader in Weight Management.

Step 1 is called the Sole Source Programme because while you're on step 1, Cambridge Weight Plan products provide your only source of nutrition. It really is as simple as that.

Sole Source (440-555kcal) and Sole Source Plus (640kcal) are Very Low-Calorie Diets (VLCDs) and are designed to achieve fast and effective weight loss together with nutritional assurance. Sole Source Plus is similar to Sole Source, but you can include some conventional food to increase your calorie intake.

is Low-Calorie Diet (LCD) of 810kcal/day, which combines the convenience of Cambridge Weight Plan shakes, soups, bars and porridge, together with a little extra conventional food.

is similar to step 2, but also incorporates some fruit and carbohydrates to bring your total to 1000kcal/day. You still have the convenience of two Cambridge Weight Plan Shakes, soups, bars or porridges, but with added variety of a breakfast, a salad lunch, plus a high protein, low-GI, low-carbohydrate dinner. There's even a daily fruit and milk allowance.

increase your daily calorie intake to around 1200kcal/day. Again, you still have the convenience of two Cambridge Weight Plan meals and, in addition, you'll have a breakfast, a lunch, plus a high-protein, low-GI dinner, which incorporates some healthy carbohydrates like pasta and potatoes. You also enjoy a dessert and daily milk allowance.

is the penultimate step to long-term weight management. At Step 5 you'll be consuming around 1500kcal/day. You'll only have one Cambridge Weight Plan meal each day, and your conventional food will include a 300kcal breakfast, a 350kcal lunch, 50kcal of fruits, 100kcal of healthy snacks, a dinner of 350kcal and a dessert of 150kcal.

My Life is where your weight loss is sustained long term. By now you should have learnt what your body does and does not need to maintain a healthy weight. From now on you can have 1500kcal a day or slightly more and you can also incorporate one Cambridge Weight Plan meal per day. And don't forget, your Consultant will still be on hand for regular weigh-ins and advise.

It's important to note that certain medical conditions may mean that some of the Cambridge Weight Plan Steps are not suitable. If this is the case, your Consultant will explain which part (if any) of Cambridge Weight Plan you can use.

You'll also need to into consideration your lifestyle and any m e d i c a l s co n d i t i o n s o r m ed i c at i o n y o u a r e o n .Your Consultant will be able to explain in more detail.

Before I started the Cambridge Diet, I had tried all

sorts of diets. I was 134kg after child birth, always

gasping for breathe, sad and depressed. Then I

joined the gym but lost just 10kg for a period of 8

months. I even went on a fruit diet but lost only

4kg, then I met Isi the PH Cambridge Consultant. In

my first week I lost 5kg, then 4kg in my second

week and since then every week the least weight

loss registered is 2kg and am now 87kg and dress

size 12 from a dress size of 24.

Ebere Bellgam

After having kids, my biggest challenge in life became finding ways to keep the excess weight gained off permanently. I faithfully attended the gym to assist the situation, most time my weight went up and down the scale I was managing a weight of 102kg to 98kg. It became even more depressing when people mistook me for an older lady or the dress I love so much in a shop did not come in my size though I used to go to the gym a lot. I tried all sorts of diets but still I always ended up gaining more weight. I did not think the Cambridge Weight Plan would be successful, because I found it difficult to do at first. When I decided to give it my all, I cried on my knees for the great success achieved and I kept going on, and most amazingly all my old clothes before I got married were my size again. Cambridge Weight Plan has taught me that when it come to weight management nothing is impossible.

Now I am lighter & healthier

I use to be the fatest person in the room

I was someone who grew up with a tendency to be fat but never in my wildest dreams did I believe I would become as fat, as I eventually did. It became worse after the children. From a size 10/12 in university in 1986 - 1990, I ballooned to UK size 22/24 in 2011. At my peak, weighed about 123kg!!! It was my worst nightmare come to life and I had no clue what to do about it. The most I ever lost on any program was 5kg - 7kg and that’s nothing when you need to lose dozens!

Anyway, I had almost given up until end last year when I made a commitment and request to God to help me lose weight in 2012. I was tired of being fat. Struggling with seat belts on the company’s airport shuttle bus, seating carefully in plastic chairs and being the fattest person at every gathering or meeting I attended at home, church, office etc. So, Cambridge came at a time I was ready to lose weight but didn't know HOW and IF I could do it. I was on the program for 4months and lost 22kg! Dropped from 115kg in February 2012 to 93kg in July on a combination of the Sole Source+ and add a meal plans.

The question is, why did CWP work where others failed? Several reasons really. I believe it’s because the plan addresses the physiology and psychology of weight problems.

1. The fact that you have a consultant or weight loss coach who understands, (has been there) and talks you through the process.

2. The weight loss groups who chat with you, discuss progress, slip-ups, share experiences and motivate you.

3. The weekly weigh-ins which really help to keep you on track and reward your progress.

4. The bi-weekly recording on a progress card which shows how you're doing with losing body mass, inches of your vital statistics etc.

5. A meal plan that is healthy, strict yet flexible and do-able, with fixed portions that deliver "sure-banker" weight loss if complied with.

6. A process that helps you recreate your lifestyle, attitude to diet and discipline and makes you a role model for others.

7. It also helps you re-discover yourself. Find out afresh who you really are and what you can or cannot do.

Since I lost the weight, I have become an informal spokesperson for CWP in my personal life, as everyone who knew me in the last decade wants to know how I did it.

And the most frequently asked question is, "is it sustainable?" And my response is YES, especially for those who have walked where I have. Because if you have ever struggled with weight or experienced the despair or hopelessness of obesity and severe weight problems, all you need is an opportunity to see a LIGHT at the end of the tunnel. You will walk towards it and never turn back.

I have always been a chubby girl trying to be

slim, so my weight loss journey has been a long

one.

Specifically with my pregnancies, I put on 25kg

with my last child and struggled to lose about

half of it with exercise; and then I discovered

CWP.

On CWP I lost 12kg in 5weeks and in the process

learnt a whole lot about myself, my will, self

discipline and how to manage my eating habits,

which is a big part of the CWP journey.

These are the lessons that CWP has taught me;

I know that everybody's metabolism is different

and you have to understand YOUR body and eat

& exercise accordingly;

I know that food (whatever kind) ain't going out

of fashion anytime soon, so I can pace myself

knowing I can have it tomorrow ; I know that just

like life, looking good is hard work and you need

to put in the effort to get the results;

I know that staying healthy is the most

important thing for me and my family;

So in addition to hitting my target weight and

looking fabulous, I also got a good education on

self awareness, eating right and living healthy

on my CWP journey.

I chose to become a CWP consultant because after losing about 18kg and maintaining the weight loss successfully, I was very keen to share the secret of this success, and to help other people develop a healthy lifestyle through CWP. Becoming a CWP consultant has therefore been rewarding. It has also ensured I remain disciplined and on track whilst also providing immense satisfaction as I assist others achieve their weight loss goals. As a CWP consultant I have been opportune to meet different people, from the skeptics, to the indifferent and finally to those desperate for a solution. My typical day starts with a phone call. On a good day, I receive a minimum of 10 phone calls. These calls range from complaints (I don’t feel I am losing o, is this YOUR diet working; or I am very hungry, are you sure I can’t have a salad or fruits on this sole source ) to excitement (I just weighed myself and I lost 5kgs this week, I can finally fit into a British size 12!) Let me not forget the late night calls, 11pm and even later. They are usually cries for help from some of my clients who have cheated and want to 'repent', or sometimes calls from midnight snackers (we all have those bad days) who are hoping I can tell them a little something that will dissuade them from taking that forbidden spoon of ice-cream or glass of wine. The interesting thing is I am always glad to receive these calls because it means my clients may struggle sometimes (as we all do) but they want to succeed on the diet. A part of the consultant’s role that I find really interesting are some of the calls from prospective clients where I am asked questions like: did you do the diet, what dress size are you, and what do you weigh?!!! You really have to be confident, dedicated and very patient. These are questions from absolute strangers who are yet to meet you. I always try to be as diplomatic as possible, lacing my responses with humor where appropriate . How can I forget the comments on the bb chat groups, sometimes sobering and often very hilarious. Fun days always occur during the weekly weigh ins, it is interesting how confessions start pouring out when the ketostick is brought out and the test requested - Ha…I become pastor Toyin as all the wrong doings are remorsefully mentioned. As a consultant, you share in your client’s successes (clapping and jumping, even close to tears sometimes,

A DAY INTHE LIFE OF A CONSULTANT

discussing how difficult it was, how it has/will transform their lives personally and professionally, sometimes celebrating the gifts they had been promised by a spouse etc) to the disappointments, ready with the words of encouragement and chastisements when necessary. You become role model, cheerleader, counselor, mummy, wife, doctor, nutritionist, best friend, school master, and woman of God all rolled in one.As you can see this job never has a dull moment! One key thing I have learned is this: weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. I constantly encourage my clients to stay focused, and to take it a day at a time. We all have bad days (and I have had my fair share of those), but staying slim and healthy is a lifetime commitment so I just say 'pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start again'! If you ask me what the best part of this job is though, it is definitely the opportunity to meet my various clients, share in their struggles and successes, make wonderful new friends, and become a part of a family of people who are bound by a continuous struggle to maintain our weight and a mutual understanding that staying slim requires a lot of dedication, determination and commitment to a change in lifestyle.

A typical day starts with my beeb on my blackberry from clients "touching base " on the forum , sometimes as early as 5 :30 , occasionally at very ridiculous times of the nite . Lagos traffic is not a bother to me at all ,I spend those times catching up with my bb messages , text messages and calls .The pressure in the office is no better, clients come in on appointments ,some just walk in,others to call to find out if it's convenient to come in.I used to think I was a very patient person, but as a consultant i have come to realise I have a lot to learn about people & emotions. Everyday is a new experience and every minute or most of it is so enjoyed .Expectations and demand of our Cambridge clients is so high on the consultant; You are expected to pick up their calls at very ridiculous times of the day If you don't the minute you return the call it's " Mrs O I called you, why did you not pick up " or " I was so hungry I could not sleep so i called you at around 1 am to see if you were awake so you could tell me what I should do; can I have an apple ?" Initially it was tough but now for me it's fun. In the office when clients come in as first timers , we go through the rules of the diet and my expectation as the consultant on them -one of which is you can't have fruits !!! on soul source. Clients come in weekly for review; this is when you deal with a lot. Some come in with a bold face after they have cheated not knowing they will will be caught; the ketosis test is done , when it does not come out good ; confession or denial starts, wow it's so much fun when clients try to justify why they have cheated . Some clients are so good and disciplined, they follow the rules, do the web page interacting with other Cambridge clients, read their Cambridge manual and get everything done to the letter. Some clients would rather not see Mrs. O because she is " the headmistress" but others end up appreciating the firmness and even ask you to be very frank with them.Having said all these it is fun, fun when you see the transformations happen to your clients . They become more confident, more attractive , more lively and mostly very grateful to you forgetting they did most of the job.Being a consultant is a job that helps you to appreciate emotions surrounding been over weight, realising that fat

is BAD. Some you lose, some you gain. Those you lose or can't get to be as disciplined as you want them to be you get hurt, you pray for them and wish them luck.I am a private person, but as a Cambridge consultant I have more friends than I did before ? It's a job ; great job that comes with a full package .

“Health is wealth” a very true statement. Research has shown that as weight increases to reach levels referred to as overweight and obesity, the risk for the following conditions also increases:

Coronary heart d isease i s def ined as atherosclerosis ( hardening of arteries ) affecting coronary arteries.Stroke is a condition where an artery in the brain burst and there is bleeding into the brain resulting in paralysis of one side of the body.

Overweight or obese people are more likely to suffer from high blood pressure and high cholesterol which are precursors for coronary heart disease and stroke. Weight loss may lower blood pressure and cholesterol thereby improving the way the heart works and blood flows

This is a condition where there is a high level of sugar in the blood.More than 80% of people with type 2 diabetes are overweight or obese. This might be because the cells become less effective in utilizing sugar from the blood thus putting stress on cells that produce insulin.Losing weight can help control blood sugar.

This occurs when cells in one part of the body grow abnormally or out of control and possibly spread to other parts of the body.Overweight/obesity may increase the risk of developing certain cancers.

For Men: Colon cancer Rectal cancer Prostate cancer

For Women: Breast cancer Uterine cancer Ovarian cancer Cervical cancer Gallbladder cancer

· Coronary heart diseases & Stroke

· Type 2 diabetes

· Cancers

Losing weight could help in preventing the development of cancers.

Blood pressure raises as body weight increases this is because more work will be done by the heart to pump blood to the whole body and the size of the heart is just the size of the fist. Being overweight increases the risk of developing high blood pressure Losing weight lowers blood pressure thereby reducing the work done by the heart.

A condition where there is abnormal amount of lipids[cholesterol] in the blood. The body needs some cholesterol to function properly but when the level is high, it may cause problems such as atherosclerosis which increases the risk of heart disease, stroke and heart attack. Losing weight can decrease cholesterol level by 10%

Fatty liver disease occurs when fat builds up in the liver cells causing injury and inflammation. This may lead to severe liver damage, liver cirrhosis[ build up of scar tissue that blocks proper blood flow in the liver ] and liver failure.

Gallstones which are clusters of solid material made mostly of cholesterol that forms in the Gallbladder

People with diabetes or pre-diabetes are more likely to have liver disease and people who are overweight are more likely to have diabetes.Losing weight can help control blood sugar levels and also reduce the build up of fat in the liver and gallbladder.

This is a sleep disorder characterized by interruptions of a person's breathing while asleep. The individual snores loudly and experience daytime sleepiness. Overweight/obese individual

· High blood pressure/ hypertension

· Dyslipidemia

· Liver and Gallbladder Diseases

· Sleep Apnea and respiratory problems

may have more fat stored around the neck which can make the airway smaller.Losing weight may reduce this.

Weight gain may lead to abnormal menses and infertility. Women of reproductive age with high BMI have a higher risk of ovulatory problems and tend to respond poorly to fertility treatment. Obesity can aggravate symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse, stress urinary incontinence and increase the risk of endometrial polyps and symptomatic fibroids. Weight reduction increases fertility and reduces hormonal imbalance in women

This is a condition where there is inflammation [swelling] of the joints. A joint is the point where two bones meet. The cartilage (covering of the bone ends) wears out and this allows the bone to rub against each other. Common symptoms include pain and limitation of movement in the affected joint(s). Extra weight may put more pressure on joints and cartilage especially the knees and ankles causing them to wear out.Weight reduction reduces stress on joints

Body Mass Index[BMI] is an indirect measure of body fat in an individual and this is determined by using the person's weight and height. The BMI formula is weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared. That is weight in kg/height in meters/height in metersE.g A person that weighs 68kg and is 1.65m will have a BMI of 68/1.65/1.65=24.98

I start this stage if I don't drink enough water).6. “Eat slowly it takes 15 minutes for your mind to register that your tummy is full”7. I choose the time to add a meal as lunch time so you can have enough time to burn it. If having it for lunch is not

convenient then have it before 7 pm. 8. You should cook with VERY SMALL amount of salt use as much herb & spice as you want. NO MAGGI OR KNORR.9. THE PORTION IS THE KEY WORD IN THIS STAGE. IF YOU GET IT RIGHT YOU WILL STILL KEEP DROPING .

GOOD LUCK.

With your hectic daily routine getting ready for work, getting the kids ready for school, a busy day at work, coming home and fixing dinner, cleaning up the house and getting everyone, including yourself, to sleep exercise is usually the last thing on your mind!Stress levels and obesity are at an all time high and health concerns are making themselves a priority in many people's lives. However, exercise is the one thing that can energize you to handle such a busy lifestyle with flying colors! Exercising reduces stress, helps you sleep better, and keeps health concerns at bay, while also boosting your self-confidence.

No More Excuses AllowedIt's a good thing the human body is made the way it is, because there are many exercises you can do anywhere, at any time. All you need are a couple of makeshift weights you can find around the house and the physical weight of your body. When exercising, remember to get a good warm-up and finish off with a slow cool-down. This is important to prevent injury and is easy to accomplish no matter where you are. Walking works well for both your warm-up and cool-down routine.

5 5 Simple Exercises You Can Do AnywhereSimple Exercises You Can Do Anywhere

Exercise

1. Tricep Dips. Sit on the edge of a chair or bench with your hands next to your thighs. Lift your body out just in front of the chair, with your feet flat on the floor and your knees bent. Lower yourself down so your elbows bend no more than 90 degrees and push yourself back up.

Start off with a few small sets and build up from there. Straightening your legs increases the workout. Avoid this exercise if you have wrist or shoulder problems.

2. Pushups. Everyone knows the standard pushup position, so let's try some things to change it up a bit.

You can do pushups with your hands wider than shoulder width to get more of a shoulder and chest workout.

If you bring your hands together into a diamond shape near the center of your chest you will work more of the triceps and shoulders.

Working half pushups either going only half way down and then back up, or starting from the floor and only pushing up half way and then going back down will intensify your pushup workout.

Here are 5 simple exercises you can do anywhere:

3. Crunches. Crunches are great for your abs if you do them correctly. Done incorrectly, they can put undue stress on your neck and back. To avoid injury, be sure to use the correct techniques.

The biggest risk is if you jerk your neck to give you the force to crunch. While doing crunches, keep your hands behind your head and your elbows back while using your stomach muscles to lift your head and chin towards the ceiling.

Once you've mastered this technique, try lifting your legs off the ground or assuming a bicycle position with one leg bent and the other straight off of the ground.

4. Squats. Body weight squats are a great exercise you can do anywhere and a fantastic way to learn proper technique. Start off your squat workouts by lowering yourself only a foot or so. Then work up to deeper squats as

your muscles become accustomed to the exercise.

If you're feeling a bit advanced and in need of a more intense workout, grab two 2-liter bottles filled with sand and try performing squats while holding one in each hand.

5. Calf Raises. Calf raises can be done wherever there is a raised surface, such as a stairway. If you need balance, hold onto the railing. Facing the stairs, stand with only your toes on the stair and your feet extending out past it. Standing straight up, lower your body down below the level of the stair and then back up onto your toes.

Even though it seems as if this is an ankle exercise, it also works out your calf muscles.

The biggest emphasis on this exercise is the ability to go from an extreme negative position with ankle below toes to an extreme

positive position, ankle fully raised.

With these five exercises, you have a full body workout. Remember to pay attention to your body and take it easy at first. Soreness is a good thing, but pain means you need to stop. Try these exercises out today and feel the healthy difference of fitness on the run.

A friend told me about CWP in November 2011 but I

wasn't interested in joining the programme because

of the usual fear of infertility; I didn't want to lose

weight and then have complications later in life. In

January 2012, I visited the CWP website, read all the

success stories and checked the content of their

products to be sure there were no side effects. The

stories I read convinced me to give the programme a

try and on Saturday, 14 January 2012, I walked into

the CWP Victoria Island office weighing 126kg

(dress size US 20). On that day, I had a chat with Mrs.

Odunsi and Eniola Karunwi and started my journey

which eventually culminated in the loss of 42kg

within 6 months (without cheating). I currently wear

UK size 12/14.

The journey…

The first three days were crazy because I craved food

like never before but thanks to mentos sugar free

peppermint flavored gum, I was able to resist

succumbing to the cravings. I also started an

exercise program that included taking brisk walks

for an hour or more every day. (I knew I could lose

the weight without exercising but it really did me

good to get some cardio exercises).

The experience became interesting when I started

getting compliments from friends, family members

and colleagues. The compliments helped but the

ultimate thrill came when my clothes literally

started falling off.

Today, friends and colleagues literally walk past me

without recognising me and then I hear "OMG! I

didn't know it was you what did you do?" My health

is perfect, I feel lighter and healthier than I have ever

felt in my life, I no longer experience back pains and

shortness of breath. I feel amazing and know I look

fabulous…thanks to CWP and the world's best
