Our CurriculumOur teachers deliver excellent teaching across the curriculum toensure our students have high aspirations for themselves andachieve outstanding results. 100% of lessons observed by Ofstedwere rated as Good or Outstanding and our first set of AS resultsplace the Academy in the top 25% of schools nationally.

In Year 12, students choose to study four AS subjects (or BTECequivalents). In addition students receive a core programme of highquality careers and university guidance as well as opportunities todevelop their employability and study skills through ‘ProgressionHours’. Opportunities to pursue interests and to contribute as activemembers of the community are provided through a timetabled‘Personal Improvement Programme’.

There is a widespread love of both subjects across theAcademy, with significantly above the national average opting tocontinue the study of Mathematics and Music into the Sixth Form.

MathematicsThrough innovative learning, teaching and ambitious projects(including all students regardless of study at KS5), students areencouraged to think, solve problems and make connectionsbetween Mathematics and the world in which they live.

A unique partnership with UBS:Creating outstanding partnerships is central to the BridgeAcademy's way of working.

The aim of the UBS/Bridge Academy partnership is to ensure thatall our students are prepared for the world of work and highereducation - with the qualifications, employability skills, confidenceand aspirations they need to reach their potential. UBS is a globalfinancial institution with offices in more than 50 countries aroundthe world. 6,000 UBS employees are based in offices near LiverpoolStreet Station - only twenty minutes walk from the Bridge Academy.

In 2012, over 800 UBS employees volunteered at the Bridge. Everysixth former benefits from a UBS mentor and also has theopportunity to work with UBS employees to develop their interviewskills. UBS employees also help in a number of other ways - forexample - native speakers of French and Spanish help withlanguage skills; employees with Maths and Science degreesprovide one to one mentoring as well as running workshops on howMaths is applied in the workplace; and the UBS technologydepartment supports students studying ICT.

UBS doesn't just provide volunteers: they funded the new sixthform building as the Academy's priority was to ensure that sixthformers had a dedicated space to mark the important transition tosixth form life. UBS also funds some important partnerships thatsupport students ranging from visits to Cambridge University to theMicrosoft and Cisco Academies operating at Bridge.

These are just a few examples of how the partnership has helped to create fantastic opportunities for our sixth form and the wholeschool - it is one reason why we believe that the Bridge Academyreally is a Bridge to your Future.

Excellence in the Sixth Form FundOur special Sixth Form Fund, provided by UBS and their clients, is designed to promote excellence in the Sixth Form. It is used to:

• Invest in students’ futures – for example to increase the range ofopportunities offered in terms of work-related learning, universityvisits and personal coaching.

• Maintain superb resources – specialist teaching spaces have beencreated to deliver the CISCO and Microsoft programmes of study.
