"People, parks and programs," three words within the PRCS Strategic VisionStatement that not only resonate with the vision of my volunteer engagements butof my goal to expand my community service efforts within Loudoun County. Assuch, I would welcome the opportunity to participate in an advisory role to thePROS Board and in cooperation with the PRCS.
I have been volunteering on a community level, but as my volunteer roles expandin scope to the county and state levels, as so my interest in the functions of localgovernment. An appointment to this role would further my enlightenment of theLoudoun County policy-making processes and the methods of administrationthereof, while applying my group facilitation skills, knowledge of naturestewardship, and equal consideration for all stakeholders.

Having been a volunteer before, I understand the commitment needed andsacrifices that need to be made to make a positive impact on the community. Fewvolunteer and even fewer are effective. And thought a recent transplant, Loudounhas been home to family members for decades, so the area is not foreign to me.
Hopefully, my experience of bringing people together, either in settlements, orthough my community organizing, will further the Commission's and Board'sobjectives at this critical time for the county, to and along the Silver line project.

Board of Building Code Appeals
Statement of Interest:
Work Experience:
Volunteer Experience:

Special Qualifications:
Other Information:
For the past 17 years, my wife and I have made Loudoun County our home, raisingour 3 kids here and trying to do our part to make it a place our kids will want toreturn to after college. As a student in graduate school, I was tasked by one of myprofessors to always make sure I was using my talents to help the largercommunity wherever I live. I have tried to do that both by serving in my localchurch, serving as a Boy Scout Leader, coaching soccer and baseball and byserving on our local Architectural Review Board. With my kids getting older itseems there is less of a demand on my time and I am looking for a way to getinvolved in the larger community and utilize the knowledge base I haveaccumulated over my 20 years in the design and construction community. As aregistered architect I feel that a roll on the Board of Building Code Appeals wouldbe a fitting way to give back to a system that has long stood with me in serving myclients and protecting our communities.
I have spent the last 20 years in the design and construction community in both anarchitect and construction roll. I have attached my resume if that helps, however Ihave worked with residential design firms, commercial design firms, small customhome builders, larger remodeling firms and even with a masonry GC. This allencompassing work history gives me a rather unique (or at least uncommon)perspective on the benefits of our building codes and their role in protecting andenhancing our built environment.
7 years on the Architectural Review Board for Ashburn Farm HOA, several of thoseas Chairman.5 years as a leader with the local Pack 1666 Cub Scout Troop5 Seasons as a girls soccer coach with Loudoun Soccer3 Seasons as a youth baseball coach for an Ashburn based FCA baseball team.Numerous years on various committees at our local church

Disability Services Board
This is a subject that is dear to my heart. My daughter has a rare rheumatic disease and I have seen her struggle with the many obstacles that come with being disabled. We have worked together to help her deal with the issues in the community and at school that impact her life. I would love to be a part of a board that make positive improvements for the disabled community.
I have worked for the Federal Government for 21 years. I am am a program manager and currently have a staff of about 40 people. I have experience leading teams, and deploying IT systems. I have experience working with many different cultures as I have lived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and London, England. I am a team player that believes in working together towards a common good.
I am the right person for the position because I have experience working with with others, leading, and I understand the struggle of the disabled community.
I volunteer in various capacities at church: I am a part of the New Members Ministry. In this role I greet worshipers, help worshipers, and ensure that new members acclimate well to our church. I serve meals to the homeless and donate gifts to less fortunate families at Christmas time.
I have volunteered with Loudoun Litearcy by reading books to homeless children at the Loudoun County homeless shelter.
