Start: Kota KinabaluTrip departs with a minimum of 2 people. Trip departs with a minimum of 2 people.

Start: Kota Kinabalu

ITINERARY ITINERARYDuring this 3-day trekking adventure, get more time to acclimatize to the high al-titude before climbing to the summit of one of the world’s most prominent moun-tains - Mount Kinabalu - at 4,095m! Fortunately, Mt Kinabalu is one of the easiest peaks in the world to conquer, but do prepare to be physically fit before your trip. Start off your incredible journey in Kota Kinabalu and make your way to Kinabalu National Park passing by villages and paddy fields along the Crocker Range. On your way, make a stop at the colorful Nabalu Market for an opportunity to buy local handicrafts and fruits. Have lunch at your own expense. Check in at your hostel and get some good night sleep. On day 2, have breakfast at Balsam restau-rant, in a lowland rainforest. Then, meet your mountain guide at the Sabah Park Registration Office and continue until the Power Station/Timpohon Gate [1830m] for the start of the climb. A nice winding path up the mountain takes you through various vegetation zones, such as montane oak, rhododendrons and conifer for-ests. After 4 to 6 hours of trekking, you will arrive at your guesthouse in Laban Rata [3550m]. Enjoy a delicious dinner while taking in the spectacular mountain landscape around you. Go to sleep early as your night will be short. Wake up as early as 2 am on day 3, put on warm clothes and begin your strenuous climb to the summit by torchlight. The altitude will make things more difficult but after 3 hours you should reach the summit’s granite plateau, just in time for a beautiful sunrise. Return to Laban Rata for breakfast and then trek back to the lower zones where vegetation is abundant. Return to Kota Kinabalu after this great achievement!

Embark on this 2-day tropical adventure and get the opportunity to climb the highest mountain of South East Asia - Mt Kinabalu - whose summit stands at an impressive 4,095m! The trek is fairly accessible but even though climbers don’t need any previous experience at mountain climbing, it is recommended to be physically fit. Set off early from Kota Kinabalu on day 1 and view the mountain’s majestic peak soar high above the jungle as you head to the entrance of Kinabalu Park. Upon arrival, meet your mountain guide, register with the Park office and then continue until the Power Station/Timpohon Gate [1830m] for the start of the climb. Begin your trek in the tropical rainforest and make your way up the mountain across twisting paths through various unique vegetation zones. As you gain elevation, climbing will become more strenuous so take the time to rest in the few mountain cabins along the way. Depending on your pace, you will reach your guest house in Laban Rata after 4-6 hours of trekking. Enjoy a delicious din-ner and take in the spectacular mountain landscape in the evening. After a short night sleep, get awakened at 2 am and change into warm clothes. With the help of a torchlight, begin your climb up towards the large granite rock plates. Iron stairs and ropes have been attached to the mountain to make the climb easier. The altitude will make your climb harder but after 3 hours you should reach the cold, dark summit, in time for a beautiful sunrise view over the Crocker Mountain Range and the Sabah lowlands. Return to Laban Rata for breakfast and then trek back to the lower zones where vegetation is abundant. Return to Kota Kinabalu after this unforgettable adventure!
