TrIP TyPE: INDEPENDENT Most of our Hop-on Hop-off Passes are considered as ‘Independent’. There is no trip leader to follow around, only local guides for each included experience. You will be on your own travel-ling independently and at your own pace! There are many like-minded travellers you will meet along the way too.

We will pre-book all your transportation and included experiences, the rest will be up to you. Our Happiness Team will always be there to help and answer any questions you may have be-fore, during and after your trip.

TrIP TyPE: GuIDEDWe also offer Guided Hop-on Hop-off Passes in some specific regions, including Turkey and Australia. With 2-3 departures a week and guides to accompany you, your travel days will be more structured.

Travellers with a tight schedule can follow the day by day itinerary and keep the same guide/driver during the whole journey, or you can hop-on and hop-off anywhere along the route to stay for as long as you want in each destination and wait for the next bus to come by!

There’s no tour leader to follow around on these adventures, only local guides for each included activity. You will travel independently on a fixed itinerary with pre-booked public transportation, activities and accommodation. Take advantage of some free time to go explore at your own pace. Choose to stay overnight in hostels, 3-star, or 4-star hotels.

If you are looking for private arrangements for you and your travel buddy(ies), our private adventures are perfect for you! We offer a wide range of itineraries that come with a private driver/guide most of the time. Our list of adventures in the brochure is just a reference. We can easily help you create and personalise your own private adventure!

These small group adventures include great local guides, all of your transportation, accommodation, and some meals. They give you the chance to move around more easily, step off the beaten path, and immerse yourself in the local culture. You’ll usually share your trip with no more than 12 like-minded travellers, though the average group size is often lower.

Bus tours offer a cheap way to visit touristic sites. You will usually be travelling with a large group by bus, on a fixed schedule. Most of these tours only include bus transportation and accommodation, entrance fees and activities must be paid locally. These are independent tours accompanied by a tour coordinator who will organise the tour but not guide you.

Travel from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara National Reserve to interact with the co-lourful local villagers (optional) and awe at the pristine nature and wildlife found here such as giraffes, elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, hippos, wildebeests and zebra to name a few. Pass through Lake Nakuru National Park to see over 400 species of birds and the rare white rhino if you’re lucky. In the months of July/August you may have the chance to experience the wildebeest migration.

Travel to the northern border of Kenya to reach one of Kenya’s most protected areas, the Samburu Game Reserve. Enjoy game drives through the arid savannah and along the Uaso Nyiro River to spot a variety of animals that live only north of the equator. Continue your trip to Lake Nakuru National Park where you can see over 400 species of birds congregated around the lake. Before leaving, try to spot baboons, giraffes, black and white rhino, lions, buffalo and leopards!

Visit Kenya’s best natural reserve with the highest ratio of game to area in the country. Choose from optional activities of camel trekking, lion tracking or night game drives (depending on availability) or visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary estab-lished by Jane Goodall. Watch for an unexpected close encounter with wild game at the park’s private waterhole and salt-lick. Continue to the beautiful Samburu Game Reserve for a ride through the grasslands and acacia woodlands.

Travel into the highlands through coffee and tea plantations to reach Aberdare National Park at 7,000 feet for privileged high altitude game viewing. Enjoy a hot cup of tea at the lodge and watch for rarely encountered animals such as the giant forest hog, bush pig, tree hyrax, large spotted genet, and the elusive bongo antelope. Continue your journey to Samburu Game Reserve in northern Kenya where you will have the chance to see elephants, lions, leopards and cheetahs in the beautiful savannah.

Climb Africa’s second highest mountain via the Sirimon Route on a breathtaking 4-day journey to Point Lenana, the “trekker’s summit”.

Day 1: Nairobi - Old Moses Camp (D)Depart Nairobi early morning and drive through the Kikuyu countryside to the slopes of Mt Kenya, passing by the Equator. After lunch in Nanyuki Town, drive until Sirimon Park Gate [2,600m]. After park entrance formali-ties, start hiking to Old Moses Camp [3,300m]. You will climb through bamboo, rosewood and heather forests, viewing beautiful wildlife such as buffaloes, elephants, bushbucks and many bird species. Rest your tired legs over dinner and get a good night’s sleep in your tent for another exciting day of trekking ahead! Note: You may add an extra acclimatization day before reaching Old Moses Camp at an extra cost.

Day 2: Old Moses Camp - Shipton Camp (B/L/D)Hike along the Mackinders Valley until Shipton Camp [4,200m], at the base of Mt Kenya’s high peaks. During today’s exciting trek, you will test your individual endurance while you hike across hills and valleys through the sprawling moorlands. During the day, you can enjoy wonderful views of the main peaks up above, as well as several unique plants and animals such as the giant groundsels, lobelias and the mountain rock hyrax. Camp overnight at Shipton Camp to prepare for your early departure to the summit!

Day 3: Shipton Camp - Point Lenana - Old Moses Camp (B/L/D)Summit day! Start your journey nice and early at 3am. Hike up steep scree slopes and across rugged rocks up to Point Lenana [4,985m], the hiker’s summit. There, enjoy an outstanding sunrise, admiring Mt Kilimanjaro 340 kms to the south when the weather is clear. Then, hike back down to Shipton Camp and after a nice rest, descend down to Old Moses Camp.

Day 01: Arusha - Moshi (D)Pick up at airports or bus station. Overnight stay in Moshi [890m], a vibrant Tanzanian market town, at Moun-tain Inn. Catch your first glimpse of Mt Kilimanjaro and get briefed on your upcoming trek.

Day 02: Moshi - Marangu - Mandara Hut (B/L/D)Drive from Moshi to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate at Marangu, on the eastern side of the mountain. The trek begins through forests of tall eucalyptuses where many species of birds and monkeys can be seen. Over-night at Mandara Hut [2,750m] in triangular-shaped huts.

Day 03: Mandara Hut - Horombo Hut (B/L/D)Start hiking through rainforests and mountain heathland, where you will view unique giant lobelias and groundsels, some of which are over 3 meters high! Day 04: Horombo Hut - Kibo Hut (B/L/D)Climb through a rocky moon-like landscape today across the alpine desert connecting Mawenzi and Kibo. Drink lots of water and take it slow to prevent altitude sickness. Overnight at Kibo Hut [4,700m].

Day 05: Kibo Hut - Gilman’s Point - Uhuru Peak - Horombo Hut (B/L/D)Depart camp today around 1am to reach Uhuru Peak shortly after sunrise. Climb a rocky path to Hans Meyer Cave [5,150m] for a rest, followed by a steep zigzag path up a large scree slope to Gilman’s point [5,681m] on the crater rim. Arrive in time to appreciate a breathtaking sunrise with views over the impressive crater and the low plains. Continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,896m, hiking along the snowy crater rim. On the summit, enjoy your accomplishment in total exhilaration as you admire the magnificent views of the surrounding plains. Your return to Horombo Hut will seem surprisingly fast compared to the tough ascent of the last days. After a 14-hour journey, take a well-deserved rest in your hut.

Day 06: Horombo Hut - Marangu - Moshi (B/L/D)Descend back down through moorlands and lush forests to Mount Kilimanjaro Park Gate. Transfer to Moshi where you will spend the night at Mountain Inn and be able to celebrate your achievement!
