Middle School Service Project at Friendship Trays

Several Middle School students attended a morning of service at Friendship Trays on June 27. The students helped to prepare and package hundreds of lunches for people around the Charlotte area who are dependent on these meals. After preparing the meals, we then delivered a couple meals to people who needed them.

High School Youth at Montreat Youth Conference

On July 19, eight high schoolers and three advisors left for the Montreat Youth Conference. They also participated in the Asheville Youth Mission on Sunday, July 20. From their blog: “We began our day much earlier as we went to work with Asheville Youth Missions at an organization called Christian Friends of Korea, which helps North Korea deal with its tuberculosis issues. CFK has set up many health clinic that help treat TB patients. They have also begun working on creating fresh wells for the citizens of many provinces. Our jobs included organizing and cleaning the warehouse and weeding the flowerbed in front of their office. Some of you might be wondering what these manual labor tasks might do to help the people of North Korea and if you are, it turns out you are not alone. While our work does not directly affect the people of North Korea, our service does allow the people who would otherwise be doing them to focus on their important work with CFK. One of the people who came by the office while we were working told us that if we did not do those tasks, he would have had to do them by himself, taking much longer than we what were able to do. Now he is free to focus on getting the fourth well drill packaged and shipped instead of organizing the empty boxes so other people can find the correct size that they need.” You can read more of their blog at: www.sardismyc2014.blogspot.com
