Message from Rev. Lea

School is drawing near....its hard to believe the summer

has passed so quickly. With the beginning of school, we

think of new crayons, paper, backpacks, lunchboxes,

and much more. Even as an adult I find myself drawn

to the fresh packs of crayons and the bright colored

construction paper. The beginning of school is a great

time to think also about a new start spiritually. What

areas of your faith need to be deepened? How can you

grow closer to God? Can you increase your tithe to the

church? Can you commit to increase your participation

in worship and other church events?

As the buses begin to make their daily trips, perhaps

they can remind you of the need you have in your life to

"make all things new". 1 Cor. 5:17 says. “Therefore, if

anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old

has gone, the new is here!"

You are in my prayers as you seek to make your

spiritual life "new" again.

Wendy Adan (Faye Greene’s niece) – was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her husband is in Afghanistan until next March. Prayers are needed for her and her family. Adyson Criswell (Criswell Family) – 1-month-old diagnosed with meningitis is doing better and has been taken off ventilator. Cherry Davis Family of David Fowlkes (Marsha Huie) – wife Phyllis passed away Friday, July 18th

Dean Hammond (Barbara Owen) – Praise report: now residing in the Independent Living and adjusting well. Thanks for prayers. Kayla Moore – having health problems and is expecting. Doug Peery (Tony Greene) – moving to Florida with his Mom. Prayers needed for him and his family.
