The Cashless Marketplace

Imagine if you needed a new copy machine, a great meal, or even a vacation. If you could use your products and services to pay for it, would you? The premise is simple. We promote your offerings, whether they be new products or excess inventory. When you make sales you receive ITEX dollars, which can be used to purchase other goods and services. Need new signage, office supplies, or building maintenance? Even if you're traveling, trade dollars can pay your way. The end result: new revenues and conserved cash.

"How can a business owner attempt to earn a living, save money and still entertain themselves and their family? ITEX is the answer! This barter system has allowed me to do all three and actually have a thriving business expanding across various states with the tools they offer me as a member. I recommend that all business owners ready to make their life better check ITEX out!" — Angel Guerrero, A.S. Web pros "ITEX is nothing more than a clearing firm for barter. Their job is to teach business owners the rationale behind the concept until the owner reaches the 'aha! moment' when it makes perfect sense." — Randy Moser, Elon University, MBA Program Department of Entrepreneur

Raise Your Expectation...Let me speak words of life to you. Hear me and listen close. I am in a season where the buck stops here. I have so many people who believe in me but sometime I neglect to believe in my-self. Yes, I have accomplished some things in life and I am very proud of that but there is so much more. Many times I can help others meet their goals while I push my goals to the back burner. If you use your energy, time, and talent for someone else business or ministry and you don’t use your gift to better yourself and your ministry. Then you have neglected the greatest gift God has given you which is yourself. Please stop neglecting the greatest gift God has cre-ated which is you. If I am in this season I know someone reading this newsletter is in this sea-son as well. If you are in this season, I would love to hear from you and connect with you and make an agreement that you will use your gift for you. I just want to stand in agreement with you simply email me at [email protected] and share with me how you will use your gift for you. I look forward to connecting with you and standing in agreement with you. Who said you can’t? Take that word out your vocabulary. It’s simple; if you believe it you can receive it and know that the manual says, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthen me.” (Philippians 4:13). What are you expecting God to do in your life? Correction what are you going to do with your life? Do you have expectations of yourself? Well here is a side note, expect greater out of yourself and then commit to participating in your own success. Don’t ever let life, situations, or people stop or lower your expectations. But, you first have to have an exceeding expectation for yourself. As a believer, we know that we serve a limitless God therefore, we are limitless people. So, I encourage you and myself to expect greater every-day. Expect greater faith, greater love, greater anointing, greater connections, greater power, and greater relationships. “For greater is he that is in you then he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4). Take this time to tell Him, “thank you”.

Seek God’s Wisdom for True Wealth“To desire without knowledge is not good and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way.” Proverbs 19:2 - ESV

King Solomon is believed to have been the richest man ever. No other man has ever had or ever will have the wealth that King Solomon possessed. As a matter of fact, God said to Solomon in 1 Kings 3:13, “I will give you … both riches and honor so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings.” To put King Solomon’s wealth in perspective, 2 Chronicles 9:13 states, “the weight of gold that [he] received yearly was 666 talents, not including the revenues brought in by merchants and traders.” It is estimated that 666 talents equals approximately 22,000 kilograms of gold and the approximate price of one kilogram of gold is estimated at $32,200. So it can be concluded that King Solomon’s yearly income was $708,400,000. King Solomon reigned over all Israel for 40 years so in light of all these facts we can safely assume he was an extremely wealthy man.

Instead of asking for worldly riches and fame, King Solomon asked for wisdom and knowledge to lead God’s people (2 Chronicles 1:10). I’m pretty sure you would agree with me that unlike King Solomon, wisdom and knowledge probably wouldn’t have been in our Top 10. Do you think that if you asked God for wisdom you would be able to have the abundant life that He promised you (John 10:10)?

The Path to Receiving Godly WealthAs it is written it is so. You can have the abundant life God promised you and wisdom is easier to get than you may realize. Proverbs 9:10 states, “…fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” I have always been taught that fearing God is having the desire to please Him so the desire to please God must be the first step in gaining wisdom. However as you continue to study God’s word and seek understanding, John takes it to another level when he writes God is love and “There is no fear in love” (1 John 4) so in developing our relationship with God we need to love Him. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all you soul and with your entire mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.” (Matthew 22:37-40).

The Bible is filled with God’s promises to bless us with riches and abundance if we just love Him. Focusing on lusts of the flesh and worldly desires means we are choosing to ignore God’s path and making life unnecessarily hard. Proverbs 10:22 says that “The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no sorrow to it” so it would be wise to stop expecting the world (and the work of our hands) to give us pleasure and look to developing a fuller, richer relationship with God and allow Him to give us the desires of our heart. He will do it.

Question: Why is it important to live a healthy life style?Answer: Healthy lifestyle is expressed everywhere in the media, even though many don’t pay attention to what it really means. It’s imperative to understanding its importance and how to make changes to attain an optimal, quality and lengthy life. Working out and dieting is mostly fundamental for a healthy lifestyle. This will result to better sleeping habits, less stress and better physical definition. Living a healthy lifestyle will not only prevent disease but it can also help you develop more energy and endurance, stay trim, be more on the alert side, suppress stress, improve sleeping habits, superior physical definition and live a comfortable life. Switching to a healthier lifestyle doesn’t need to happen overnight. When someone decides to adjust their lifestyle to a healthier one, in other to accomplish their goal, 70% is from healthy nutritious intake while 30% is from their dedication to exercising.

Question: Understanding physical comfort zone.Answer: Physical comfort zone can be described as a state of mind by which an individual feels mostly comfortable mentally rather than physical freedom. Perceptibly, physical appearance influences an individual’s mental comfort attributes and is deduced by the brain as safe and sound. For instance, an individual’s comfort zone might include relaxing and grilling at home 3-4 times a week and he or she could feel distinct unease if they have to do something else such as going to exercise at a gymnasium with a friend which would likely create soreness due to muscular development instead of rather just spending time at home grilling and eating healthy foods. Understanding comfort zone can and will assist in envisage human behavior or reaction to conditions and be analyzed as a non-productive aspect in someone’s life. Lingering inside a comfort zone will hinder mental development or contemplation towards any new ideas means someone life will remain unchanged.Deciding to take a chance and break away from a comfort zone is a positive individual development in which basis shouldn’t derive from severe unhealthy circumstances. Question: What are the repercussions for a poor healthy lifestyle?Answer: Impoverished nourishment can be an adopted nutritious condition not only from comfort zone but also could be physical condition. Working out and dieting is mostly fundamental for a healthy lifestyle. This will result to better sleeping habits, less stress and better physical definition. Another obvious factor is self-fulfilling accomplishments with a healthy define physical appearance. On the other hand, several people come across that such means of stimulation isn’t sufficient enough in encouraging them conquer ones desire for unhealthy intakes or their willingness to work out. However, in other to accomplish a healthy goal, each potential individual must first have and develop a DAILY PERSONAL commitment and willingness to endure in order to accomplish their goal. Commitment and self willingness is why so many people are having difficulties adjusting from their comfortable zone to never-ending healthy lifestyle of daily intake consumption or work-outing agenda, sense of accountability and self-dedication to an ongoing revolving training. At a crossroad of life, everyone has and will need to make a choice how they want to live and whether positive or negative face the consequence. Case in point, someone who is self-motivated filled with enthusiastic in all their ways but has no desire to adjust from their unhealthy lifestyle. Through discovering the advantageous benefit towards a healthy lifestyle and defining the high-mindedness, that individual will enthusiastically be mo-tivated to deviate from their unhealthy comfort zone. Less complex approach to humanizing stimulation is for enjoyment. Those who take pleasure in work-ing out and a healthy nutritious intake by and large certainly don’t have much dif-ficulty making healthy habits an unswerv-ing part of their lifestyles. For instance, I’ve certainly enjoyed playing sports such as soc-cer, racquet ball, volley ball and working out for over 17 years and understanding the significance of a healthy intake makes me value with gratification and unconditionally living a healthy lifestyle and continuously drawn more to healthier whole foods. Everyone ought to be involved in some type of physical activities that’s desir-able to them and incorporate a nutritious healthy lifestyle that they find scrumptious. The general intent is to be objective to dis-cover their interest which will then become a lifestyle.

When faced with the sink or swim situations of life, Victor Jones has always chosen, not only to swim, but continually teaches others to swim as well. Born and raised in Raleigh, NC, Victor’s family suffered a financial loss from the RTP layoffs in the eighties. Rather than simply downgrading to having nothing, Victor, during the summer after his 7th grade year, opened a flea market booth renting out a slot car race track. When asked why, “I just wanted some money for video games.” After reinvesting the earnings, this booth grew to have a conces-sion stand, arcade machines, air hockey table and several items for sale. He would just get merchandise from other vendors who closed up shop and placed those items they couldn’t sell on his shelves. As an 8th grader, he was earning $2-300 a weekend. During his 9th grade year, the flea market actually closed it doors forcing Victor to sell off his assets, which he reinvested into lawn care equipment and forged his own landscaping company. Since he was still not at the legal driving age, he hired a few older friends that could take the trailer of equip-ment around the neighborhood to service the clients he accumulated. Within one season, he landed 73 weekly accounts and several other one-time contracted jobs. Before he graduated at Sanderson High School, he began an Amway business and soon enlisted into the Marines. Over the next several years or college at NCSU and working as a self-employed network engineer, he utilized the IT experience gained in the Corps. During his senior year at UNCG while majoring in Finance, Insurance, and real estate he attained the Platinum level in Amway and had a six figure income from life insurance sales…all while taking 15 hours of 400 level college classes, working as a promotional model for Verizon Wireless at the local Best Buy, and serving as a Sergeant in the Marine Corps reserves. “I just laugh when people tell me they are too busy to do something on the side to improve their financial situation.” Today he’s still involved in all of those endeavors and now owns Royal Limou-sine of Greensboro, LLC (est. Feb 2010) here in the Triad as well as recently opening 360 Tan…a tanning salon located in Jamestown, NC.

Secret to success

“I read the word daily and follow Joseph Prince, Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Copeland, and most importantly the success principles outlined in the word. I don’t see how you can fail if you realize that under grace, you have the full backing of the Holy Spirit. Psalms 1 says that everything we do prospers. I don’t know why my phone rings so much. I just answer it and business comes in. Most people rely on hard work and dedication and some of them will make it, but I know tons of business owners that work harder than I do. They just don’t know how to rest in grace. If you apply a reasonable amount of work and determination combined with an acceptance of grace, you’ll make it in anything you do.”

Just like Chick Fil A, who made a statement to the business world by closing on Sundays and I was impressed to find out that Royal Limousine is the only company in the state that will not go to the gentleman’s clubs. That’s a huge part of the typical limousine industry. Victor just didn’t want his company or drivers exposed to that environment or to those customers. “It was a leap of faith in the beginning when I needed the money and people would call and want that to be a part of their itinerary for the evening, but look where we are now. We have the largest variety of limousines in NC and are booked solid every weekend. In 2010, I was the new kid on the block and now I’m subbing out jobs every weekend to all of the other companies that were in business back when I was serving in Iraq in 2003. I’ve dedicated more than a decade of my life to teaching agents across the nation on insurance sales, independent business owners across the nation on how to build side income with the Amway opportunity, and now provide jobs in my community with my two more tradi-tional companies. Who knew I’d be an employer with so many people that I can bless by the age of 33…but Jesus was my age when he fulfilled his ministerial calling.”

Victor’s is heading on a dream come true tour through Israel in September with his mentor, Joseph Prince for a few weeks. “I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to any trip or vacation this much in my life. While I’m proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish thus far, I can’t wait to see what opportunities He has in store for me after this growth experience.”

At Lady Bizness, Inc. our motto is “Show Up & Show Out!” We can not do this without first doing research and checking the landscape that lies before us. In order to Show Up, you must first know where and when to be at a particular place and time. That can be a challenge for many business owners who do not want to move outside of their comfort zone. Your business will not be as successful if you stay in the same circle of people. We must raise our expectations and our standards if we are to grow and allow our businesses to be seen by the masses. So, I encourage every business owner to venture to take the

following steps to Show Up & Show Out:

1. AAttend an event that will have your target market present Research where your customer goes and make sure you are there with business cards, brochures, and available to answer questions. You

must know how much your customer spends to make an accurate analysis on where they will be. Try using SurveyMonkey.com to see what people think about your products and services and where they are most likely to obtain the same item from your competition. A survey can help you decide on locations, pricing, and determine what your customer wants from you.

2. JJ Join professional organizations that will allow you to explore options in your industry Whatever industry you are in, there is bound to be a professional organization that can help you with marketing, ideas, and connections.

Look-up your industry on-line and type in the words professional organization and see what comes up. You may also add in your city and state to get more localized results.

3. Venture to places that will challenge you to grow as an individualCheck on the Chamber of Commerce, Nussbaum Center, and other business websites for events to attend. You can also check our site at

www.LadyBizness.com to see the types of events we host. In addition, check out Meetup.com to see what types of things are going on all around you.

4. GGet comfortable with speaking about your business You are the voice of your business and you should clearly articulate what you do and why?

Practice a 30 second and 60 second elevator speech that will give you a professional demeanor.Create a quick presentation on PowerPoint and time yourself with your key points. What is your name, company, and what do you do? You may also add in contact information if time permits.

5. Be prepared to have your goals met when you answer the right questions. You never know when an investor is standing right in front of you, therefore you should know where your money is and what you need addi-

tional funds for. Having your finances and what you intend to do to expand is what a lot of people miss out on. If someone were to ask you what would you do with $10,000 right now, would you be able to articulate where it really needs to go.

6. Use technology to spread the word about your business.Social Media is the new word of mouth. It allows millions to be exposed to a great product and service that is provided by your business.

Make sure that you get customer recommendations and reviews to solidify your brand’s staying power. A majority of people will research a com-pany on-line before making a decision about where to spend their dollars. One solid recommendation can mean the difference between getting and losing business. Completing your profile on-line with a picture, logo, hours of operation, website, telephone number, and any on-line contact methods will make the difference. For the entrepreneur that does not want to give their personal phone number out visit Google Voice and get a number for your business. This number can ring to your phone and present a business image that will make you look like the big boys. It also keeps your private information safe and announces business calls to you.

Now that you know how to Show Up & Show Out! you simply need to supply yourself with continuing education. Classes and workshops will enhance your personal brand and increase your knowledge about the competition, new tools, and there is always an opportunity to network. All business owners must understand that getting the word out, in a positive manner, is key to increasing the bottom-line. Learning your target market and being where they are will allow for more opportunities to be present for you business. Make sure you have the answer to all the questions listed above to make your business “Show Up & Show Out!”

God created man with a unique ability to relate with his creator! God’s love for man was also demonstrated in the fact that God made man to look just like him. Gen. 1:26 says “let us

make man in our image, after our likeness”. God created man with the ability to communicate with him, to relate to him on a spiritual level because God is a spirit.God sets the stage for relationships according to Gen. 2:18 – 22, when he says “it is not good for man to be alone; I will make him a help (fit) for him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept; and he took his ribs and closed up the flesh instead thereof. And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman and brought her unto the man.” God institutes the marriage according to Gen. 23,24 when Adam says, “this is now bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man. Therefore, shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh.” The leav-ing and cleaving means to emotionally separate from mom and dad and to bond with their wives cutting mom’s umbilical cord. The man is responsible for seeing to it that the soul and body of he and his wife are joined mentally, emotionally and physically.Men and women are equal in value, but different in practical function. Therefore, it is impossible to have a loving, healthy relationship with the opposite sex without understanding and respecting the differences as designed by our creator. The number one mistake we make is trying to remodel our spouses to be like “us”. How much time do we spend on the potters wheel trying to remold our spouses. Only God can change people and he knew the weaknesses and strengths of the sexes which is the reason he chose to make us different. We must not allow satan to magnify the weaknesses of each other over the strengths. Let’s face the fact that because God made women (the man with the womb or female, the male that carries the fetus) to give birth, she will not only give birth physically but she is made to give birth

spiritually as well. That is why when a man tells her something or makes promises to her she carries the seed of his words into her spiritual womb and nourishes that seed with hope and expectation. She is moved by her emotions and feelings and that is why she harbors bitterness and sorrow so deeply when the man fails to keep his commitment to her and the spiritual baby is aborted. She feels a deep sense of loss and emptiness. Men are headliners, they are interested in the big picture, the bottom line. Women want to know what, when, where and how. Most men become agitated with too much detail. That is why most CEO’s have females to coordinate the details of the business. Some women complain that men take too long to make decisions and that is because they are thinking from a logical perspective and women are thinking from feelings and emotions. The man is usually taking longer to process because he is thinking about the bottom line of how this decision is going to affect the family long term. The woman is getting irritated because she is starting to feel insecure that he is not sharing her feelings but men generally don’t make decisions out of their feelings, but they look more at the facts. He is wired that way and it is for safety and protection that God designed it that way. We need balance and boundaries in order to have healthy relationships that honor God. Remember we are equal in value but different in perspectives and function. Let’s love, communicate and celebrate!

How do you impress someone? As a young man I always admired how some people walked into a room and it’s like the red carpet rolled out under their feet. The room would suddenly go silent and then erupt into various salutations and lines forming to shake the person’s hand. Meanwhile I would be the one of few who seemed to ask around “who is that?” This was immediately proceeded by the look of surprise from the eyes across me. I realized as an adult now in my early 40’s that it was not impression that they made on the crowd but IMPACT at some point earlier in the commu-

nity at large. I learned that if any entrepreneur or business owner follows these simple points they too will have a red carpet under their feet.

I The “I” stands for Influence. To master influence in a community or with individuals you need to earn their respect. You have to exhibit confidence and become an expert in your field or profession. If the subject is brought up in your field your name should be synonymous with it. M The “M” stands for Motivate. We live in a hopeless world. You may become the only motivation that a per-son receives the entire week. Give them a compliment, show them they are special to you and that your meeting today is the start of a great opportunity. Do not forget to smile. P The “P” stands for Purpose. I could spend and entire book on this subject. The short is you have a list of things to do…these are goals. A purpose is the fire and passion you have to accomplish these goals because they serve a great God. A The “A” is Action. It is time for us not to just deliver the message but to live it. Nuff said. C The “C” is my favorite, Community. Any successful individual has a responsibility to give back to their com-munity. Volunteer or become a philanthropist. You will not only benefit a great cause but it will enhance your character or even build it! T The “T” is one that follows the rest if you did everything right; Trust. People will always do business not with who has the better price or more benefits. They will do business with the person they trust the most. Look in the mirror and ask yourself; “Am I a trustworthy person?” There you have it, the gauge to measure yourself up against. I believe that these components will bring you an abundant life and you will set an example for many to follow. In fact you will not only make a great first impression but you will become an IMPACTful Leader!

Tips for the Novice Investor by Sherri Brown

Being female business owner I am often asked how I am able to manage the day-to-day finances of my company as well as deal with personal financial matters. I suppose that some people may per-

ceive my financial independence as a big accomplishment. After all, on top of the distinction I just spoke about, I am also a single parent. I must admit, financial freedom comes with challenges, but it can happen. However, while I feel confident in my ability to “do it all,” it must be noted that there are some helpful tips that I have devel-oped and learned along the way. It is my honor to share them with you, in the hope that what I have learned can make your journey easier. Educate yourself about your money and the investments that you are curious about or already a part of. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and never feel uncomfortable about asking. Get actively in-volved in making household financial decisions, as well as investment decisions. Devise a plan and make sure you also have a backup plan. You might think that you have the financial plan to end all financial plans, but what happens when something falls short or falls through? What happens then? When it comes to spending money, your financial plan may be your budget. Take the time to actually look at your income and compare it to your expenses. Not having a plan spurs bad decisions and bad habits. It can also lead to a lack of choices if there is an emergency. Don’t wing it!Invest in yourself and pay yourself first. Consciously make a decision to put a certain amount of money aside each pay period. Also, keep in mind that your rainy day fund and retirement account are separate investments and should each be handled with different principles! Plan for the long-term. Insurance is not a dirty word. We have it for our homes and other per-sonal property but rarely do we carry appropriate levels of insurance to take care of us and our families in case of personal injury or death. Consider purchasing disability insurance and life insurance. Insur-ance proceeds can prevent you and your family from becoming financially destitute if life throws you a curve ball.

Trust your instincts. If you are ever meeting with an investment or financial professional and you get a bad feeling about what they are saying or recommending, don’t walk, run from their office. Respectfully thank them for their time and leave. Don’t feel obligated to invest with anyone who either makes you feel uncomfortable or can’t easily answer your questions. This is your financial future; don’t pander to someone who doesn’t have a stake in it. You should never stop learning about ways to be financially secure and you should nevertrust someone else to take care of you in the future. Take responsibility for your finances, your future, and your life and you will find that it is entirely possible to have it all!

Walking Out My Purpose By Lyndia A. Clarke

Everyone goes through a time in their life where they ask, “Why am I here?” or “What is my purpose?” If you are a Christian or have grown up sur-rounded by Religious beliefs, you may have heard many scriptures that answer that question such as: Isaiah 49:1-We were created by God, In His image, for a purpose. Galatians 1:5-for a specific purpose, he has also has a specific plan for your life. But what if you haven’t been raised in the church or you have turned away from God. Or better yet, you are not in the place you want to be with God. How do you start to walk out your purpose? For me personally it started with me humbling myself before God & ask-ing him for forgiveness. Next, I had to forgive myself. Asking God to forgive me was the easy part of my journey but when it came down to forgiving myself for what I had done, that was a horse of a different color. But through prayer and walking with God, he showed me how much he loved me and I needed to love myself the way he loves me. The love of God is so pure and holy, for myself the word that expresses the feeling I have is “Freedom.” My love walk showed me that before I took my first breath, God had designed me to do great things. By learning to love myself I was given a new revelation on how to love others. We sometimes wonder why people don’t walk in love with one another. The answer may be as simple as they don’t know how to love themselves or they have not been shown true Agape Love thru a brother or sister in Christ. Love is a word that has been misused and abused for so long that for a lot of people it does not mean anything. It is through our actions that we demonstrate how we feel about ourselves and one another.
