ST ANN PARISH LIFE...come and be with us
Catholic Social Teaching Corner 16th Sunday of Ordinary Time The Gospel this Sunday reminds us that sin and virtue co-exist in our world. How do we sow seeds of virtue and nurture them in ourselves and others? We do it through our actions: love and forgiveness rather than anger and retribu-tion; peace rather than violence; sharing rather than hord-ing. One great need is to help those coming out of jails and prisons to re-enter society. How can your parish help our sisters and brothers grow in virtue?

Let Go and Let God This retreat is July 23 from 9 am to 2:30 pm. This is a day of exploring what “letting go and letting God” means. Cin-dy Isaacson will explain what keeps us from letting go and instead clinging to things or situations that bring us sad-ness or harm. Isaacson has presented retreats for the last 15 years for ACTS, parish groups and the Diocese of Austin. To register or for more information call (254) 780-2436 or go to www.cedarbraake.org .

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR DONATIONS. If you were not able to attend Mass this past Sunday, please remember that your financial contribution continues to be important during these times. This is a tremendous financial strain on the parish budget. Your donations keep the lights on, pay the bills, and helps St. Ann to car-ry out its mission. There are a variety of ways to contribute:
• Contributions can be brought to the Church Rectory and dropped in through the mail slot in the rectory door
• Mail your weekly contributions to the parish office (P.O. Box 99, Somerville, TX 77879)
• You can also donate online by going to austindiocese.org and click the “Donate” button at the top. Under “Give to Your Par-ish”, you can select our parish from the drop-down menu and make a donation.
DATE CHANGE: The Peter’s Pence collection has been moved and will now be collected on October 4th. Please hold your envelopes until that date. BLESSINGS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT OF ST. ANN.

Meet Our New Priest Fr. Everardo Cázares was ordained to the priesthood on January 16, 2016, at St. John Vianney Parish in Round Rock, and joined the pastoral staff at Emmaus Catholic Parish on February 1, 2016. Although he grew up and received much of his formation in Mexico, Fr. Cázares accepted an invitation from the Diocese of Austin to be-come a seminarian, where he believes that God is calling him to serve. “I have always referred to my vocation story as one of the simplest—the result of a natural process to meet and fall in love with God and His plan.” Fr. Cázares said, “My main goal is to be a child of God—to live how God wants me to live. Becoming a priest to serve is what he is asking of me. I hope to help others discover their own vocation, which I believe naturally follows when we realize that we are beloved children of God and called to be holy. I am very happy to be here at St. Ann Catholic Church, and I hope that together we can walk towards the house of our good Father God.”

Prayer for Spiritual Communion
My Dearest Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love
You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot, at this moment, receive You sacramentally, come
at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were
already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to
be separated from You. Amen
The Grotto of Our Blessed Mother
Everyone is always welcome to come to the Grotto to spend some quiet time or pray the rosary either alone or with others (limiting the number of persons who gather to less than 10 and observing 6 ft of distance between each one.)
