de NaOHAGU unidade de auidroglicose Hama mistura de
isopropanolagua120cehiloselisopropanolaguaem pesoeposteriormente com acido monocloroacetico MCA em
que as cargos foram 155 mal de MCAIAGU Para um DS
de 1213 mol de MCAAGU para um DS de 10 ou 085mol de MCAAGU para tun US de 07 A temperatura no
estagio de mercerizaaofai ajustada em 27C enquanto a
temperattuano estagio cle eterificaraofoi de 60C 70C ou
84C Ions de cobalto II 15 ppm calculado em relacao a
celulose foram adicionados antes ou apos a adiaode MCA
Para fins de referenda alguns experimentos tambem foram

CONCLIlSOES
Mostrouseque a temperatura de eterificaaoduratlte
a preparaaode carboximetilcelulose CMC exerceu
forte influencia sobre as caracteristicas e o desempenhode misturas de CMCaguaQuarto mais baixa era a tem
peratura entre b0C e 0C durante a eterificaeao Canto
mais alto era a viscosidade da CMC emsoluoes aquosas
e tanto maior foi o aumento subsequente da viscosidade
durante 2411 A temperatura de eterificaaaexerceu forte
influencia sobre a clegradacao da cadeia molecular tendo
sido obtida a menor degradaaoa uma temperatura de ete
rifiCagao de 60C O aumento de viscosidade observado
provavelmente se deveu ao desenvalvimento de ligaoespor pontes de hidrogenio entre as moleculas de CMC
na solu4ao A fortnaFao da rede de ligacoes por pontes
de hidrogenio foi vista tanto em soluoes de agua para
quallto em varios eletrolitos llama ampla faixa de valores
de pH Mostrouse por fim que os ions de cobaltoIadicionados nao exerceram qualquer influencia sobre o
aumento gradLtal da viscosidade que se verificou
