Who We areArtdinouveau is a unique, commercial art and sculpture company specialising in nature-inspired play equipment and botanical concept furniture. Our range has been designed in their jungle-surrounded Queensland studio and brought to life by a talented team of sculptors, artists and craftsmen.

We combine a true artistic nature and film industry origins with fastidious attention to detail. We create magical, industry-compliant play structures that transform any space into a children’s wonderland fostering a love of nature and facilitating imaginative play.

For the past decade, Art Dinouveau’s natural play sculptures have inspired and delighted children of all ages. Our work features in countless playspaces in public parks, retail precincts, kindergartens and childcare centres, schools and hospitals throughout Australia and around the world.

PLaY eQUIPMeNTThe off-the-shelf Art for Play range features a unique collection of interactive sculptures that can be combined in myriad ways to create engaging and colourful indoor or outdoor play spaces that celebrate nature.

The range includes predominantly nature-inspired, oversized play sculptures including Snails, Ants, Caterpillars, Ladybirds, Frogs, Daisies, Tulips, Pumpkins, Watermelons and more.

The Art for Play range also features life-size Dinosaurs, Domes and Hollow Logs to climb on, ultra-realistic Fossil Sandpit inserts to dig and discover, Dragonfly Slides, Gum Leaf Play Pods, Egg Pods, Tree Cubbies, traditional timber Play Houses and even a UFO Cubby. 2015 will see the addition of exciting new larger-than-life play items including a Mushroom Cubby House, Rhinoceros Beetle, Butterfly, Giant Bee and Beehive Dome Climber.

Each piece is made using heavy-duty fibreglass and finished in polyurethane paint and a protective, graffiti-proof varnish. Our products are designed and built for years of play. All of the Art for Play range can be shipped worldwide.

Art for Play

hoLLoW Log cLIMber aNd TUNNeLOur hugely popular Giant Hollow Log Climber and Tunnel is designed for kids to crawl through and climb over. This unique play item features glowing orange bracket fungi, two geckos, two snails and lots of green moss - just like a real hollow log in the forest.

It measures 1.5m long, 1.3m wide and 0.9m high and is suitable for use both indoors and outdoors in public playgrounds, childcare centres and retail playspaces.

gIaNT SLeePINg aNkYLoSaUr cLIMber aNd TUNNeLIntroducing our latest playground item and our favourite! This giant sleeping Ankylosaur (Minmi Paravertebra) is 3.6m long and 1.35m high and designed to be used as a climber and tunnel for children of all ages. It is made from fibreglass and finished in two-pack paint for longevity and can be used either indoors or outdoors with appropriate fallzones and surfacing.The piece is available with or without the tunnel and can be painted to spec.

cUSToM PLaY doMe cLIMber aNd cUbbYOur amazing Play Dome Climber is both fun to play on and in! Fully customisable, this item can be created with holes of any size and shape within regulations painted. It can be a bee hive, a turtle shell, an igloo, a bat cave, a planet and almost anything else with a half sphere shape you can dream up. You can have as few or as many holes of varying sizes as you’d like. The play dome is finished in two-pack paint both inside and out and can be painted to suit your playspace.

cheeSe bLock cLIMberThis amazing Cheese Block Climber features massive blocks of Jarlsberg Cheese for kids to climb all over. Made using fibreglass and an internal steel armature and finished in hard-wearing two pack paint, this climber is very different to the traditional off-the-shelf items typically used in playspaces. A single Seat Cheese Block is also available.

We have also made hay bale climbers, dinosaur climbers and giant trees all of which encourage kids to get active and enjoy themselves.

gIaNT ToadSTooL ScULPTUreOur Gigantic Toadstools create a magical sense of wonder for children in any play environment. These come in two sizes - 2.3m and 2.5m high and will actually provide some shade when used in an exterior playspace. These work wonderfully with our mushroom chair and table sets and the fairy queen sculpture. They can also be fitted with twinkling fibre optics for use in indoor playspaces and retail environments. When used in sets of two, these giant toadstools create a delightful and impressive entry archway.

gUM Leaf Pod PLaYhoUSeThe newest addition to the Art for Play collection, the Gumleaf Pod Cubby House, is already immensely popular with both kids and playspace designers. Inspired by the iconic Australian story by May Gibbs, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie, the pod has internal leaf seats and is perfect for quiet reading or imaginative play. These were originally created for the AB Paterson College Junior Library Reading Garden. These pods match perfectly with our Gumblossom stools and steppers, Junior Leaf Seat and Gumnut Climber and Chairs.

gUM Leaf Park beNchThis exceptional piece of botanical art pays homage to the magnificent Australian native Swamp Bloodwood tree.The giant leaf is elegantly curled to create a perfect, ergonomic seat designed to accommodate four people.The piece measures 2.5m long and made from fibreglass with in an internal steel armature.

It is heavy and extremely robust and suitable for use in parks and public spaces, indoor/outdoor retail environments and domestic gardens. It is available in either gum leaf green or mottled Autumn colours.

gUMNUT bLoSSoM STooLSThese gorgeous little gum blossom can be used as either stools or steppers and are in fact, incredibly comfortable to sit on for both adults and children alike. Available in yellow and dark red, these depict the flowers of two iconic Australian flowering gum species. These stools and steppers work beautifully in a ‘Bush baby’ themed playspace together with our junior leaf seat park benches, gum leaf pod cubby and gum nut climber and seat.

TradITIoNaL TIMber PLaY hoUSeSIn addition to fibreglass sculptures, we also create traditional timber playhouses. These can be custom designed to suit your needs and painted to spec. Additional features include a timber shop counter for imaginative play, an internal blackboard for drawing and plenty of space to include your own furniture. Additional realistic counter items, signs, and weather vanes are also available. Our timber playhouses work particularly well when used as the ‘farmhouse’ together with our oversized vegetables and flowers.

gIaNT caTerPILLar SeaT & cLIMberThis Giant Caterpillar sculpture is both a seat and a climber and kids love it. It is 2.5m long (3m curved body) and is painted to look like the Wanderer or Monarch butterfly larvae. The caterpillar is particularly good for children up to seven years of age. It looks great when used with our oversized pumpkins, watermelons, tomatoes and daisies.

gIaNT SMILeY SNaILIntroducing our lovely smiling, snail sculpture and seat - a favourite with toddlers and older children alike. The sculpture is 1.1m long and perfect for nature-based play environments.The snail is made from fibreglass and finished in hard-wearing two-pack paint.

It works best when used together with our caterpillar, dragonfly slide, mushroom steppers, tomato and pumpkin sculptures to create a giant vegetable patch.

gIaNT aNTThese delightful, larger-than-life Sugar Ant sculptures were created for the new All Abilities Playspace at Bundoora Park, City of Darebin in Victoria, Australia.

The sculptures are around 1m long and have an internal steel armature for strength and durability. They are painted in marine grade two-pack paints for longevity. These ants are designed to be played on and can be used either indoors or outdoors.

dragoNfLY SLIdeOur sculptural Dragonfly Slide is great fun for young children up to six years of age. It features a 2m slide and is suitable for retail playspaces and childcare centres. It is made from fibreglass, finished in two-pack paint and can be painted to suit the environment.

gIaNT daISIeSThese Giant Daisies add colour and a create a sense of wonder for children. They can be made to any height and painted any colours to suit a variety of play environments both indoors and outdoors.

An additional ‘stepstick’ positioned close to the ground can be added on the stem to create an interactive play activity for kids as they hop from stem to stem.

gIaNT frogThis Giant Frog is a perfect element for any nature-based play environment. It can be used either on or off the rock and grouped in threes to create the ultimate ‘leap frog’ game.

This frog is identical in form to the Striped Marsh Frog and Growling Grass Frog so can be finished as either of these frog species. It is made from fibreglass and finished in two pack paint and perfect for use in public parks, childcare centres and retail playspaces.

dog’N booTSOur dog’n’boots literally puts kids in a farmer’s shoes. They can stand inside the oversized gumboots and pretend to be the farmer with his faithful hound standing in a mud puddle.

This play item works particularly well with our oversized vegetables, farm animals and Cowch (cow seat) as well as the Cheese Block Climber. These items were originally made for the Lehmann’s Farm Playspace in Aurora, Victoria.

gIaNT ToMaToOur fabulous range of giant vegetables can be used for sitting, climbing and jumping off. Kids love them. These sculptures work best when there are a few of each to create a oversized vegetable garden together with our Giant Snail and Caterpillar.

They’re suitable for use in public parks, childcare centres and retail environments.They can be made as stand-alone moveable seats or fixed into the landscape. These are made from fibreglass and finished in two-pack paints. We also have capsicums, apples and pears coming soon, watch this space.

VeLocIraPTor foSSIL SaNdPIT aNd WaLL frIezeThis unique mock fossil dig sandpit features an anatomically-correct, 3D, Velociraptor skeleton in matrix. The sandpit is child-safe and measures 1.9m long x 1.2m wide and around 0.2m tall. It can be used in playgrounds, playspaces, childcare centres, prep schools and other children’s environments to facilitate a unique learning experience for all ages.

This sandpit is designed to be filled with sand to enable children to play and dig and discover the hidden Velociraptor skeleton. This comes as a stand-alone sandpit which can be placed on the floor inside or on the ground outside. A second version is available without sides and can be fixed into an existing sandpit.

dIProTodoN foSSIL SaNdPIT INSerTThis life-size Diprotodon Fossil in matrix is designed to be used in a sandpit environment to recreate the archaeological dig experience for children. This is one of our most popular play items and can be ordered with sides for a self- contained sandpit unit or without sides to use in existing sandpits. The version without sides measures 2.7m x 2.3m. This fossil cast has been used in numerous playgrounds around Australia namely Victoria Park, Bathhurst, NSW Gallipoli Park in Marysville, Vic, the Outback at Isa Centre, Mt Isa and the OH Reid Memorial Park Playground, Willoughby, NSW.

faIrY oN a gIaNT ToadSTooLThis delightful Fairy Queen sitting atop a giant mushroom is a delight for children and adults alike. The fairy is 1.4m high and has an internal steel armature for strength and durability. It is painted in marine grade two-pack paints for longevity. This sculpture is a magical addition to any garden or playspace and works particularly well with our giant toadstools and mushroom table and chairs.

gIaNT cLoTheS Pegour gigantic clothes peg can be used as a seat or balance beam. originally created to accompany a massive artificial bower bird’s bower for the Lady Cilento Hospital playspace, this play item also works well with our gigantic garden creatures - snail, caterpillar and ant. These can be painted in any colour to suit your playspace.

An addition to our popular Art for Play range, the Art Dinouveau Botanic Concept Furniture collection features beautiful, functional and comfortable objects d’art inspired entirely by nature.

The iconic Swamp Bloodwood tree, native to the Blue Mountains, was the inspiration behind their Gum Leaf Park Bench, Gum Blossom Stools, Gum Nut Armchairs and the whimsical Gum Leaf Pod Cubby. Soon to be added to the collection are the hanging Gum Leaf Pod Chairs and Gum Nut Stools.

Art for Play

LoTUS LILY SeaT aNd STePPerOur gorgeous Lotus Lily seat can be used as playful seat or stepper. As a stepper, these are best used in threes and make a colourful and fun addition to a blue rubbercrumb pond area together with our Giant Frog. As a seat, these can be used either free-floating or fixed down.

ToadSTooL TabLe aNd foUr SeaTSOur fabulous, oversized toadstools or mushrooms are a favourite with kids and can be used as seats with or without the matching table or set up so they can be used as steppers to hop from one to another. Made with fibreglass and an internal steel armature, they can be painted in two-pack paint as toadstools (as pictured here) or finished to depict a variety of other realistic mushrooms.These also work well with our fairy queen on the mushroom, giant toadstools and are an excellent play item to incorporate into an oversized vegetable patch playspace.

gUMNUT chaIr aNd cLIMberOur Gumnut chair is part of the ‘Bush Baby’ play equipment range. It works well used together with our Gum Leaf Park Benches, Gum Blossom Stools and steppers and of course, the Gum Leaf Pod House. The chair can be used as a free standing or fixed chair for adults and children but it also doubles as a bush baby climber as in the Snugglepot and Cuddle Pie books.
