An Evening with Art

CONCEPT: Providing art history through a visual

presentation conducted by contemporary art

collector Rosa de la Cruz and Ibett Yanez, Director

of the de la Cruz Collection.

The de la Cruz Collection Contemporary Art

Space is privately funded by Key Biscayne

residents, Rosa and Carlos de la Cruz. The primary

purpose of the museum is to provide education

in the visual arts by showcasing their collection of

contemporary art.

Since its inception the de la Cruz Collection

has organized multiple exhibitions, provided

artist residencies and collaborated with other

institutions. Their educational programs include

lectures, artist-led workshops and daily docent-led

tours.

de la Cruz Collection, and Village of Key Biscayne

City Theatre Play Readings

CONCEPT: Providing play readings performed by

City Theatre actors and written by distinguished and

emerging playwrights.

City Theatre was founded by Key Biscayne resident,

Susan Westfall. Susie is the Literary Director. In

nineteen years City Theatre has received thousands

of submissions, and produced hundreds of plays in

its festivals, Short Cuts tours, and reading series.

Because City Theatre is the primary company doing

shorts in our region, and has an open door policy, it

premieres original work, produces published plays

and second or more productions. Any season can

feature prize winning playwrights along side brand

new voices, some from our own South Florida back

yard. There have been mini-musicals and bilingual

scripts, all of which comprise exciting programs

summer after summer.

City Theatre, and Village of Key Biscayne
