and Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra Guide

What is Restorative Yoga? Restorative Yoga is a therapeutic

style of yoga which utilizes props to make it easier for the

body to get into certain poses, and thus, surrender to the pose.

Practicing poses using props provides a completely supportive

environment for total relaxation. The more your body is

supported in the poses, the deeper the sense of relaxation.

Relaxation is a state in which there is no movement, no effort,

and the brain is quiet. This is like doing yoga on a huge comfy

couch. You will be glad you joined this class! Please bring

yoga mat, blankets, pillows, eye pillow, and the more the comfier.

This workshop is an introduction to the fused

glass process and to making jewelry or small glass

pieces. The materials will include dichroic glass,

which its main characteristic is that it transmits

one wavelength of light and reflects another.

Which means that it displays an array of colors

at different angles of view. This makes it an

exciting, ideal material for artistic endeavors. You

will learn the basic properties of glass as they

relate to fusing, and techniques involved in making fused pieces

and in cutting glass. Participants can then make some items of

their choosing such as earrings or pendants. Emphasis will be on

the creative process and on exploring the materials.

Finished pieces will need to be fired in a kiln, which is a special

oven that takes glass up to temperatures in the range of 1250-

1450 degrees. It takes roughly five hours to complete the kiln

firing and cool down process. After pieces have cooled, findings/

bails may be needed to be added on. As this is a one session

workshop, workshop leaders will need to glue any bails needed on,

and mail jewelry back to participants. Material fee will be $18.00

which includes, mailing finished pieces to participants,

and will be collected at the class.
