Pinewood House is accessed from Blomfield Drive (to the South) and lies within the Graylingwell Conservation Area and Grade II Registered Park and Garden.
The Cathedral City of Chichester is a vibrant, historic and thriving administrative centre for West Sussex. The city is located approximately 65 miles south west of London, 15 miles east of Portsmouth and 30 miles west of Brighton.
The city has excellent road communications, being situated on the A27 dual carriageway which runs east to Worthing and Brighton and west to Portsmouth and Southampton where it connects with the A39M), M27 and M3 motorways. Gatwick Airport is located approximately 50 miles to the north east.
By rail there are frequent services to London Victoria (1 hour 30 minutes). As a result Chichester is a popular commuter location for those working in London’s City and West End.

D E S C R I P T I O N Pinewood House comprises a three storey brick building constructed in 1932 to provide 53 units of nursing/staff accommodation originally linked to the nearby Graylingwell Hospital complex.
Since about 2006 the building has been used as student accommodation by the University of Chichester. The site also includes a Marley type concrete garage (cur-rently used for cycle parking) and open/grass areas located to the south and west of the main building within which there are two groups of trees. A total of eight designated car parking spaces are located immediately to the rear of the main building. The site extends to approximately 0.71 hectares (1.76 acres).
U S E
According to the updated version (as at 6th April 2018) of the Town & Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987 (as amended) the current use of the building being akin to purpose built student accommodation it is now generally considered by most Local Planning Authorities to be a ‘Sui Generis’ use. This means that it no longer falls within any specific use class.
