Thank you to everyone who helped last Sunday at our Mass celebrating diversity of cultures within our parish. It was a wonderful occasion in church and afterwards sharing food in the community room. We raised £525 for Kanville School in Ghana.

Lourdes Reunion after 6.00pm Mass, Community Room Saturday 27th October 2018 Did you attend the Queen of Martyrs Pilgrimage to Lourdes? We are having a reunion of the parishioners who travelled and joined the Liverpool Archdiocese Pilgrimage recently. It would be nice to recollect our time together and see if anybody has any revelations to share !! Tea & Coffee will be provided - if you prefer something stronger bring it with you. First Holy Communion 2019 for children in Year 4 Enrolment forms are available after mass in the community room.

Father Conor Stainton-Polland of St Matthew’s, Liverpool is taking

part in Strictly Nugent 2018. This fundraising event takes place at St

Georges Hall, Liverpool on Saturday 27th October. If any parishioners

would like to come along and support Father Conor, we have show only

The Holy Father will canonise Blessed Oscar Romero on Sunday 14th October in Rome. So that people can join in the spirit of thanksgiving to mark the canonisation, Archbishop Malcolm will celebrate Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral on Sunday 28th October at 11.00 am. All parishioners are welcome to

Archdiocese of Liverpool Order of Deacons Archbishop Malcolm will be hosting two information evenings for men who might be thinking of beginning the process of discernment and formation for the diaconate next September. The first evening is on Tuesday 20th November 2018, at St Mary’s Parish Centre, Broadfield Drive, Leyland, PR25 1PD, 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm. SYNOD 2020: SYNOD SUNDAY.

This weekend October 20th and 21st we will be

celebrating Synod Sunday. This is the first opportunity

for you to hear in detail about the Synod and to pick

up a leaflet and take note of the dates for the Synod

Open meeting. The meeting nearest to us is in Holy

Rosary, Aintree on 7th November at 7.30 pm – 9 pm

HOLY SOULS – NOVEMBER PIOUS LIST

November is the Month of the Holy Souls when we pray particularly for those who have, ‘gone before us marked with the Sign of Faith’. If you wish to remember your loved ones, families and friends at the November Masses then please place their names in the envelopes which you will find at the back of the church.

LSCP has been given funding to assist workless adults (19+), to freely

participate in a 5-day programme, which supports individuals to prepare

and progress on to further training, volunteering or employment.

LSCP has worked over 10 years now supporting and preparing adults to

develop careers in social care, by delivering an accredited pre-employment

training course with Liverpool Adult Learning Services.

The next programme is due to take place at Lowlands, West Derby

Community Centre on Thursday 1st November until Wednesday 7th

November.
