Future challenges for the most part involve sustainability challenges that all CEOs and managers should know about and be able to manage. For this reason, the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary (BCSDH) launched the Future Leaders Program that adapts the global program of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).|

The objective is to help potential business leaders under-stand the complexity of corporate sustainability, and enable them to incorporate sustainability elements into their future decision-making processes.

The program is unique in Hungary, as participants can learn about ethical operations, strategy and sustainability in a di-verse group, not only from recognized experts but also from practising business leaders, while being able to become deeply acquainted with the mentoring companies.Participants who successfully fi nish this program will be awarded a certifi cate of completion.

The program follows the seven principles of ‘The Complex Interpretation of Corporate Sustainability’ Recommendation for Business Leaders. Each ‘professional day’ focuses on the objectives, theoretical background and industry best practise related to one of the seven recommendations:

About the program:

The ‘Future Leaders’ Talent Program helps participants to identify future challenges and the business solutions they need to handle.

Our promise: Alumni: The community of future leaders

The 8-day programme that lasts throughout the year covers:

• exclusive interviews with CEOs • corporate sustainability models and practices • creative development methods • practical group tasks • workshops and presentations

that help participants learn about sustainability and industry best practices.

On top of this, participants get the opportunity to join a community of business leaders and industry experts who are working towards sustainability goals.

Together we can do more. All of our participants become members of our professional community of former and current students and trainers - the Alumni. The Future Leaders program therefore does not end on the last occasion we meet, but keeps on providing new opportunities to grow.

BCSDH thus brings value-creating executives and future leaders together to create the opportunity for professional development.

“Training is carried out at the organizations themselves, so we do not return to school desks, but visit companies directly. There are so many things that are not uttered in words but are seen, heard, and felt.”

“The programme provides a comprehensive overview of sustainability. Many people still iden-tify this topic with environmental protection; however, it has economic and social pillars as well, so here we can become familiarized withall three interconnected areas.”

“Real managers bring real problems and business challenges to the group sessions, which we can discuss together and fi nd constructive solutions for with their guidance.”

“I really like how structured and organized the programme is and that each Professional Day encompasses a defi nite theme. We always ap-proach each theme from a wider, global point of view and during the day get down to the level of the organization that directly effects our work.”

“We can develop a valuable network here. People from all kinds of business areas share their views and experiences with us.”

Péter Huszár Premium Consultant, Generali Plc., Participant 2016

“The problem-solving session not only pointed out that sustainability is a complex issue, but also showed that working towards it is not as diffi cult as it fi rst seems.”
