No Equipment? No problem! - Anita Parker
Because physical ac vity is essen al for anyone wishing to live their
best life, one of our roles as leaders is to eliminate barriers. Make it
easy. No equipment required. No excuses. Let’s have a workout that
employs just body weight and gravity to fa gue all muscles of the
upper body, lower body, and deep into the core. Then, we’ll explore
modifica ons, alterna ves, and innova ve solu ons to ensure
movements align with our clients’ needs, abili es, and goals.
It’s All About the Ques�ons - Sheryl Hansen
Lifestyle or wellness coaching is about knowing the right ques ons
to ask, at the right me. Learn the difference between coaching,
advising, and mentoring and how you can incorporate the skills into
your prac ce as a well-rounded exercise professional. Walk away
with valuable informa on, ps, ideas and more to be(er meet the
needs of your par cipants.
Circuit Blast - Gail Rogers
Circuit training is a model we have all taught in our exercise classes.
Let’s refresh, and reinvent this stead fast form of fitness. Together
we will explore how to put a circuit class together, look at unique
variables and explore new and fun ideas.
Flow Fundamentals - Maelynn Ives
Learn how to build a mind body flow class that incorporates
strength, flexibility, relaxa on and the mind body connec-
on. Delivering mul level instruc on so everyone can stretch,
strengthen and align safely.
Presenters
Anita Parker, BSc, BEd, RYT 200, AFLCA Trainer – begins each day
with a glass of water and a self-message of gra tude that fitness and
wellness is actually her livelihood. Twenty years of passion for hu-
man movement and poten al has brought Anita to inspiring leaders
with cer fica on courses and workshops, wri ng ar cles, hos ng
mountain yoga retreats, and now developing Moveball™ Fitness.
Sheryl Hansen, AFLCA Trainer, CFT Examiner, CSEP CPT
Sheryl is an AFLCA Master Trainer and has been training fitness lead-
ers and trainers since 1987. Her long history in the fitness industry
allows her to bring a wealth of experience to the classroom, studio,
and fitness centre. Sheryl has managed a number of facili es and
has mentored countless entrepreneurs in their quest to start per-
sonal training businesses. She con nues to teach at a collegiate level
and has been a manager in the recrea on field. Sheryl’s current
work is in staff training and development where she is working on a
mentorship program, and teaching leaders how to lead and coach.
Gail Rogers, AFLCA Assistant Trainer, CSEP PFT
Gail Rogers’ a=tude on life is we are meant to move and move well.
At any stage of life, to be able to climb a mountain, play with our
children and grandchildren with energy and tenacity. Gail is a CSEP
PFT; AFLCA Assistant Trainer; AFLCA Exercise Leader in group, Older
Adult and Resistance Training. Through her company Bloom Fitness,
she teaches in numerous loca ons in and around the city of Edmon-
ton and loves working with people young and old. She looks for-
ward to con nuing to grow and learn in this industry with fantas c
leaders like you!
Maelynn Ives, BSc, AFLCA Leader Maelynn has been in the fitness industry close to 10 years as an in-
structor, programmer and public speaker. Maelynn is passionate
about group fitness being inclusive for all fitness levels. She is dedi-
cated to inspiring, mo va ng and educa ng others through her clas-
ses and mentoring other leaders.
