PERICONCEPTUAL MULTI MICRONUTRIENTS IN PREVENTION OF INTRA UTERINEGROWTH RETARDATION.

    What is the background to

    the research being

    proposed? (maximum 150

    words / + 1,000

    characters)

ONE OF THREE (37%) INDONESIAN CHILDREN UNDER-FIVE SUFFER FROM

STUNTED GROWTH, A PRIMARY MANIFESTATION OF CHRONIC MALNUTRITION.

STUNTING CONTRIBUTES TO 14.5% OF ANNUAL DEATHS AND 12.6% OF

DISABILITY ADJUSTED LIFE-YEARS IN UNDER-FIVE CHILDREN. TO OVERCOME

THIS PROBLEM, MULTI MICRONUTRITION (MMN) INTERVENTION DURING PRE

CONCEPTION IS IMPORTANT, BECAUSE IT TURNS ON WHEN PREGNANT,

MOTHERS IN INDONESIA HAS BEEN IN A STATE OF MALNUTRITION. THIS

INTERVENTION IS EXPECTED TO PREVENT INTRAUTERINE GROWTHRESTRICTION (IUGR). IF THIS CAN BE PREVENTED, THEN THE FETUS WILL

BORN NORMAL, HEALTHY AND AVOID FROM STUNTING. IUGR IS A FREQUENT

CAUSE OF IMPAIRED GROWTH DURING THE REST OF THEIR CHILDHOOD,

ADOLESCENCE AND ADULT LIFE. THE PREVALENCE IUGR IN INDONESIA IS ABOUT

8%. HOWEVER, THERE IS NO RESEARCH SHOWED THAT MMN INTERVENTION IN

PERICONCEPTIONAL AFFECT IUGR. THEREFORE , THIS RESEARCH NEEDS TO BE

    CONDUCTED.

    Provide a Research

    Statement (purpose of

    study) to accompany the

    proposed research. This

    can include a statement on

    what is special and unique

    about the research?)

    (maximum 100 words / +

    700 characters)

MULTI MICRONUTRIENT ON PRECONCEPTION IS WISHED TO INCREASE

NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF PREGNANT WOMEN. FULLFILMENT OF MICRONUTRIENT

WILL PREVENT IUGR . THIS EFFORT IS NEEDED TO REDUCE LOW BIRTH WEGHT,

INFANT MORTALITY RATE, STUNTING, AND LONG CONSEQUENCES SUCH AS

HYPERTENSION, CORONARY HEART DISEASE AND DIABETES. HOWEVER, THERE IS

NO EVIDENCE THAT MMN HAS EFFECT ON PREVENTING IUGR. THIS RESEARCH

HAS OBJECTIVE TO FILL THE GAP OF THIS KNOWLEDGE.

    What hypothesis are you

    testing in your proposed

    research? (maximum 50

    words / + 350 characters)

CONCENTRATION UE 3 (UNCONJUGATED ESTRIOL ) IN PREGNANT WOMEN WHO

RECEIVES MULTIMICONUTRIENT (MMN) IS HIGHER THAN THOSE WHO RECEIVE
