EUROPEAN YOUTH WEEK and league of young voters launched in BRUSSELS

On Thursday May 30th, YEPP launched, together with many other european youth organizations and national youth councils, the European “League of Young Voters” in Brussels, along with the European Commission President J.E.Barroso.

The launch was part of the European Youth Week, aiming at bringing together EU representatives and young people. During this event, the first ever real debate between young politicians from all major political groups of the European Parliament took place where YEPP emphasized the importance of low taxation as a tool for driving growth, young entrepreneurship, and job creation.

YEPP TALKS LOW TAX, growth policies AT world OECD forum, parisOur president took part in the "Unemployees" debate at the World OECD Forum on the 28th May, chaired by Sigbjørn Johnsen, Minister of Finance of Norway.

Konstantinos Kyranakis insisted on the importance of low taxation for entrepreneurs and cutting bureaucracy.

AUSTRIAN ELECTION KICKOFF WITH YOUTH OF ÖVP AND 1st Board meeting in vienna

Junge ÖVP hosted the first board meeting for the new presidency, parallel to the EPP Summit held in Vienna on the 20th of June. The board members were assigned their portfolios and the yearly plan was put in motion.

On the following day, YEPP delegates from all over Europe attended the kickstart event for Sebastian Kurz’s election and supported all Junge ÖVP young candidates, as well as Michael Spindelegger in his bid for the Austrian Chancellorship

269 letters delivered door to door during the Strasbourg plenary on youth unemployment. 2 out of our 3 proposals made it in the joint resolution, and YEPP got massive support by dozens of MEPs. / June 11-14

For the first time an EPP Summit discusses and supports a proposal from its Youth organization. YEPP was mentioned in the press conference and the press release as EPP Heads of State ‘greenlighted’ the plan. / June 21

On the same day as the EPP Summit, the EPP joint ministerial meeting of Employment and Finance Ministers expresses support for the YEPP 3-step plan for job creation. / June 21

On the week of the EU Council which was meant to focus on youth unemployment, the president of the European Commission J.M. Barroso accepted the YEPP delegation to discuss the jobs plan. The president gave very positive feedback. / June 26

The highest of all decision-making body in the European Union, the Council of European Heads of State adopts a text that includes the proposals of YEPP for job creation. For the first time after 3 years, an EU unemployment document speaks about low taxation on labour.

100 YOUNG MEMBERSOF PARLIAMENT FOR THEYEPP JOBS PLAN

This September we are going to ask 100 young, elected members of national parliaments in the Member States to sign our 3-step jobs plan. This alliance, together with European backing can push the Employment Ministers and the legislators to introduce bills according to the national needs.

In October 2013, the presidents of all our youth organizations will gather in Bucharest to declare a clear commitment for national jobs plans.

Between the 18th and 20th July, IRL Noored hosted a Summer School on the topic of “E-governance”.

YEPP local is a dynamic project that aims to strengthen the European network of the local organizations of our members, connecting them on a European level.

#Ukraine22On August 24th 2013, Ukraine celebrated 22 years of Independence. On this day, 22 young politicians and national leaders from YEPP sent a message of support for Ukraine's European course.
