Geography, technology, Strategy - three words that aptly sums up the triad that
creates the right supply chain for a firm. The 5th Asian Supply Chain Thought
Leadership Summit explored how these three paradigms can redefine our supply
chains. Around 180 senior supply chain leaders from all walks of the Indian supply
chain domain were in attendance.
The 5th Edition of ASCTLS was held on the 20th and 21st November 2019 at Hotel
Orchid, Mumbai. on 20th November, a select set of supply chain thought leaders
attended an exclusive Leadership Retreat on “Orchestrating the New Supply
Chain - Exploring the role of Planning, Technology, and Geography.” The
retreat was led by Paul W Bradley - Chairman and CEO of Caprica International,
Singapore and Dr. Rakesh Singh, Chairman ISCM. Vivek Sarbhai - Director Customer
Service & Logistics at Mondelez Middle East & Africa FZE was the industry expert.
On 21st November saw the flagship conference - 5th Asian Supply Chain Thought
Leadership Summit. ASCTLS is India’s only thought leadership driven supply chain
conference, covering end-to-end supply chain. This year, at the summit the theme was
“Digitalization – The Supply Chain Imperative” – the first step in moving
supply chains to a strategic asset.
Today’s Supply Chain leaders must be different at the core — flexible, inquisitive,
technology-friendly, and innovative. As our supply chain footprint goes global, supply
chain leaders need to innovate, disrupt and scale to create value. The conference
explored how to leverage the power of planning, collaboration, geography, and
technology to achieve the level of mastery required to succeed.
5th ASCTLS brought together distinguished and acclaimed professionals, experts, and other important stakeholders of the supply chain domain to share their views on how to align operations and supply chains to the new realities of the marketplace.
The 5th Asian Supply Chain Thought Leadership Summit saw 41 thought leaders
from the Indian and international supply chain community including Paul W. Bradley,
Chairman and CEO of Caprica International, Singapore and Vivek Sarbhai - Director
Customer Service & Logistics at Mondelez Middle East & Africa FZE .
Geography and planning are two major factors driving supply chains. However,
environmental, social, and corporate governance concerns are now gaining importance
in supply chains. At the same time, growth in consumption is coming from Tier 3, Tier
4, and Rural India. E-commerce is a significant contributor to this growth. Tying in all
these growth drivers is digitalization. These multiple threads were woven into a rich

tapestry throughout the day.
