with local families who provide a room and,

depending on location and the student’s choice,

a meal plan. Homestay provides a safe and

supported cultural immersion living experience.

Homestay AccommodationHomestay accommodation is our most popular option. Homestay provides our students with the opportunity to learn English by living with a Canadian family. The most rewarding aspect of the homestay option is that students, in addition to practicing the language they came to study, have the opportunity to experience Canadian culture through music, television, food, etc. while living with a Canadian family.

Full-board AccommodationILSC offers safe and welcoming homestay families, many of whom have been hosting ILSC students since our school began. Full-board Homestay includes a private bedroom with three meals per day. Most of our homestay families are located approximately 45–55 minutes by public transit from ILSC.

Half-board HomestayThe Half-board Homestay is for students who would like to have a little more independence and freedom in terms of their everyday lunch. The Half-board Homestay allows the student to live with the family, just like regular homestay, but it only includes 2 meals a day, breakfast and dinner. Snacks are available after dinner for the students. The students are responsible for purchasing their own lunch every day.

Other than having no lunch provided in the Half-board Homestay, the details and benefits are identical to the Full-board option.

ILSC is one of the first schools to offer Roomstay Accommodation. Roomstay provides our students with the option of “renting” a bedroom from a family. Meals are not included in the package, and students will be responsible for purchasing all their own groceries, beverages, cooking supplies, (including seasonings, oil, dishwashing liquid, etc.) toiletries, (including toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc.) Students will be placed with a homestay family and will have a private bedroom. The homestay family will not cook for the students, but the student will have access to the kitchen to prepare their own meals. In most cases, the student will be sharing the kitchen with the homestay family. Most Roomstay families live approximately 45–55 minutes by public transit from ILSC.

Alternative AccommodationILSC's locations provide a variety of alternative accommodation options for students, that meet a range of budgets and tastes. Depending on location, students may choose private or shared suites and/or rooms. Options may include furnished apartments, hotels, hostels, residences, or suites in houses. Alternative accommodation will provide a room with bed(s), desk, private or shared bathroom, and in some cases, use of internet.

NOTE: The Alternative Accommodations prices are subject to change without notice. Therefore, it is important to check with ILSC’s Student Accommodation Department to confirm price and availability.

Booking Procedure1. CHECK AVAILABILITY: Contact ILSC to find out the quote and availability for your chosen accommodation.

2. CONFIRM YOUR BOOKING: If the accommodation is available, send a booking form to ILSC within 24 hours. The non-

refundable deposit will be charged by the accommodation at the time of booking. For Primrose Student Residence, Ryerson

Pitman Hall & ILLC bookings, the room fees must be paid to ILSC immediately. ILSC will send a booking request only

after the payment is confirmed (availability is not guaranteed until the accommodation confirms the booking). For other

residences, the room fees must be paid directly to the accommodation upon check-in.

3. RECEIVE YOUR CONFIRMATION: Once the booking is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation letter.

Please note that there is a $220 nonrefundable Accommodation Registration Fee for all of the programs listed, which is due in advance to confirm booking.

Accommodations booked for 30 days or more are not subject to tax; however, some accommodations may charge the tax for the first month, and refund at the end of the first 30 days.

Our in-the-thick-of-it location makes for the perfect home base while you explore Vancouver. The Vancouver Central Hostel is a short 13 minute walk to the ILSC campus.

If you're looking for the fun of a hostel, but still want privacy, you'll love our ensuite private rooms (cable TV included!) and our two-bed dorms. These are our most popular room types, so make sure to book in advance!

DOWNTOWNHostelling International–Vancouver Downtown is located in the safe and beautiful West End residential neighborhood, one block from vibrant Davie St., with its many shops, restaurants and cafes. The hostel enjoys plenty of outdoor space and the rooftop garden patio is the perfect place to chill on those warm summer days. Vancouver Downtown is just a 25 minute walk from ILSC.

From the hostel, you can easily walk to Stanley Park or any downtown attraction, not to mention that we're a two minute walk from English Bay beach and False Creek Ferries to Granville Island. For those who'd like to venture further, we have mountain bikes available for rent, and sell passes at our front desk for Vancouver's extensive transit system.

LORD STANLEYTERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR MONTHLY STAYSzz A security deposit of $600 at the time of booking.

This is to be paid by the student by credit card (VISA, MasterCard or American Express). The security deposit will be refunded after the student’s departure, provided the suite is left in the same condition as upon arrival. The security deposit is nonrefundable if the reservation is cancelled. The credit card used to pay the deposit must belong to the person who is staying at the Lord Stanley Suites.

CHESTNUT RESIDENCE

Chestnut Residence is a University of Toronto Residence in the heart of downtown. During the summer months, Chestnut welcomes all visitors to Toronto for both short and long term accommodation. All of the rooms are private with one or two beds and feature an en-suite bathroom with amenities. All floors are co-ed. The residence is located approximately 5 minutes walking distance to ILSC.

Chestnut Residence is available for ILSC students from May 10 to August 23, 2015. Students wishing to stay at Chestnut Residence must be over 18 years of age.

zz A minimum one-month (30 days) stay is required.

zz A mandatory $400 non-refundable deposit will be charged to the student’s credit card at the time of the reservation. This is a part of the residence fee and will be held as a non-refundable deposit. The remaining funds must be paid directly to Chestnut Residence upon check-in.

ST. MICHAEL’S COLLEGE RESIDENCE

St. Michael’s Residence is the oldest residential community at University of Toronto. The residence buildings are located in the heart of downtown Toronto and offer three dormitory-style residences, and four newly renovated historic houses. St. Mike's is central to all subway lines as well as historic Yonge Street, Bloor Street and Yorkville. The college campus is steps away from Toronto's best shops, cafes, and restaurants.

The residence offers Deluxe and Standard rooms, and single and double occupancy are available in both categories. Deluxe rooms are available in Sorbara residence and historic houses. Sorbara offers air-conditioned rooms with an in-room sink. The historic houses offer air-conditioned spacious rooms in a “home away from home” setting. Standard rooms are non-air-conditioned. CANADIAN COLLEGE OF NATUROPATHIC MEDICINECCNM STUDENT RESIDENCE

CCNM is located in north-east Toronto, just steps away from Leslie subway station with easy access to downtown. The residence is located about 45 minutes from ILSC by subway.

CCNM offers 161 single rooms. Each room has a single bed, desk and chair, wardrobe closet and a personal refrigerator. There are complete washroom and shower facilities on each residence floor for the students to share. There are also TV lounge and dining areas with a balcony overlooking the courtyard on each floor. A fully-equipped kitchen is located adjacent to each lounge. The residence doesn’t offer meal plans, but the cafeteria (open Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM) is available on-site.


zz Cable internet access (included in the residence

fees) is available in each residence room (students

must bring their own laptop and USB cable),

and wireless internet access (included in the

residence fees) is also available in the common

ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA

To be eligible for residence admission and to maintain eligibility for residence accommodation, you must show CCNM (1) a school letter confirming enrollment, (2) a passport and (3) proof of student visa.

CONTRACT

Students must sign CCNM’s “Residence Contract” and an “initialed checklist” acknowledging that they understand the terms and conditions.

RESERVATION DEPOSIT AND WHERE TO PAY

A $600 deposit will be charged to the student’s credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Amex) at the time of the reservation if the reservation is longer than one month. The deposit includes a non-refundable $50 administration fee and the remaining $550 will be reimbursed on the credit card upon termination of residency if there are no damages, loss of room key/fob card/laundry access card. Cancellation must be notified to the Clarence Park at least

ILSC offers safe and welcoming homestay families, many of whom have been hosting ILSC students since our school began. ILSC Half-board Homestay includes a private bedroom with two meals a day for 1 week (14 meals a week). UniLodge @ Shafston is a 12 story building with secure swipe card access to individual floors featuring 170 individual studio apartments. Whilst the majority of the accommodation operates under a 6 or 12 month lease, they do have a small number of rooms that are available in twin-share or triple share for short term accommodation.

Each apartment has its own bathroom and kitchenette and the layout makes all rooms suitable for individuals, couples or friends wishing to share. All of the apartments are fully furnished and equipped for student living. Other apartment features include free cabled internet (8 GB per port – most rooms have 2 ports), river and city views, some with balconies, and air-conditioning.

HOMESTAYA perfect way to experience the Indian way of life is to join ILSC’s Student Accommodations Homestay Program. These homes are of a good standard and are located near the school. Homestay hosts are often working families or retired people. Homestay options provide students with a friendly atmosphere, living with an English speaking family, and for students who like authentic Indian cuisine, this is a great way to experience all the flavours, spices and varieties of Indian cooking. While staying with a family, students are still independent and are not expected to take part in family life. The travel time to the school from these houses is between 5 and 45 minutes on public transport and/or an auto rickshaw.

Private homes can be booked on a Half-board basis (breakfast and dinner.)

ILSC students can sign up for a convenient cell phone plan for local and international calls and a personal internet card option.

All our host families are regularly visited to guarantee satisfactory standards.
