INDIA ENGINEERING SOURCING SHOW IV, MUMBAI – A BRIEF REPORT

Mr D S Dhesi, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Govt of India (3rd from right) and other dignitaries

UAE has emerged as the second most important export destination for Indian engineering products above China and trailing just behind the USA. India’s engineering ex-ports grew over 36% in 2013-14 at USD5.07 billion. India has also witnessed increase in engineering imports from UAE by registering an increase of 40% over last three years reaching over USD2 billion in 2013. As per HSBC’s

trade forecast 2014, UAE is set to remain as India’s top export destination till 2030, while India will emerge as the biggest export and import partner of UAE by that year.

The forum hosted a high-powered business delega-tion led by the UAE Chamber of Commerce and Industry and discussions were done to open new business and explore investment opportunities in the region.

The Second Eurasia Business Forum was organized on the second day of the show to create awareness about the existing potential in the Eurasian region. The Eurasian region holds tremendous prospects for the engineering sector. According to recent estimates, trade between In-dia and Eurasia has the potential for touching US$30 bil-lion from the current bilateral trade of approximately US$ 13.5 billion. However, this potential is not fully explored or tapped. Indian engineering exports to the Eurasian region

countries in 2013-14 have gone down by nearly 14% to US$747.3082 million compared to US$870.7816 million in 2012-13. It is against this background that the forum was organized so that the Indian exhibitors, delegates and visitors could learn about the scope and opportunities that exist in this region. It was also discussed how SMEs can take advantage of opportunities available for partnerships in order to grow their businesses further, along with en-hancing their processes and productivity.

It was my privilege to attend this impressive event, which seems to be rising in scope and ambi-tion with every passing year. I felt that the show was organised in a highly professional manner, in terms of design and construction of pavilions; B2B meetings; seminars; hospitality for delegates, especially those from abroad; and the glittering evening receptions. My felicitations to you and your team.

The participating organisations at the Eurasia Pavilion seemed quite happy with the event and the arrangements. It was good to see that as many as three Ambassadors from Eurasian coun-tries, were able to witness this flagship event, and speak about the opportunities for their countries, at the ‘Eurasia Business Forum’.

I have no doubt that this annual event will con-tinue to serve as an important bridge between In-dian companies and their overseas counterparts, for exploring business opportunities in engineering items, a significant section of our export basket. I assure you of the support and cooperation from this Ministry in future events as well.

Ajay Bisaria, Joint Secretary (Eurasia), Ministry of External Affairs

I would like to express my sincere thanks and congratulations at the successful completion of the IV India Engineering Sourcing Show (IESS) re-cently held in Mumbai (December 16 – 18, 2014).

On behalf of the Trade & Investment Promotion Section in New Delhi and delegates from Poland, I would like to take this opportunity to express our admiration and satisfaction at the organisation and outcome of the show, as well as the kind hospital-ity and attention that was received by us from all members of the organising team.

Our participation in the exhibition, as well as the country and sector specific seminars held on the sidelines of the exhibition, enabled us to interact on a wide scale with not only other exhibitors, but with a significant numbers of visitors, as well.

This was the first participation of Polish busi-ness enterprises in the Indian Engineering Sourc-

ing Show and I believe strongly that it will result in greater cooperation and opportunities for partner-ship between Indian and Polish Companies.

I would also like to commend all members of the EEPC organisational team for their support and patience at each stage of the process – from the organisation of our participation, to our presence at the exhibition, itself. I would like to add that the overall arrangement and set up was very good and at par with any international exhibition. All the seminars and cultural shows were very well presented.

I thank you for your successful organisation of the IV edition of the IESS exhibition and hope that all successive editions of the event will prove to be as fruitful and beneficial as it has been to us.

Zbigniew Magdziarz, Head of Trade and Invest-ment Promotion Section, Embassy of the Republic of Poland, Delhi

Please recall the recent visit of the Trade Mission of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry to Mumbai, Republic of India from De-cember 14 to 18, 2014.

On behalf of the members of the board of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to your esteemed council and to all Indian institutions and authorities for their warm hospitality.

The delegation members were very impressed by the positive attitude of the Business community of India for promotion of trade and investment between our two countries.

We hope that the already existing cordial rela-tionship between the business communities of UAE and India would be further developed in the near future and that new horizons will be opened up for investors, industrialists and businessmen interested in different fields and services, espe-cially through interactions and exchange of visits between delegations.

The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry avails of this opportunity to renew to

Rajesh Solanki, MD, Miraj Instrumentation Servic-es (I) Pvt Ltd.

We are regular participants in EEPC India Pavilions in overseas exhibition. However, this was our first experience in IESS. This was an excellent Show with very good arrangements. All the Seminars and Cultural Shows were very well organised. The Sourcing Meets were very useful.

Rohinton Engineer, Industrial Boilers Pvt Ltd.

We participated in the India Engineering Sourc-ing Show for the first time and we are thankful to EEPC India for giving us this opportunity and we will keep on participating. The entire arrangement by the EEPC team was very appreciable.

Pankaj, P C Tools

We have been participating in IESS since 2012 and this was our 4th opportunity to be here. The difference in the exhibition quality is remarkable and everything went off very smoothly. Now is the time for the Show to grow and reach to a bigger scale. However, we need good delegates to max-imise the business for all participants.
