Ladies and Gentlemen: As a person on the Board of Trustees at the Wernert Center, I would like to advise you of the opportunity to sit on the board. I wish more folks would join me and our other members to serve On our Board of Trustees. We really need members, male or female; balance is the word to make the Board a success! With more people it would be more fun and we would have a greater mixing if ideas at each meeting. Read the invitation below to find out how you can learn more about the Board of Trustees.

know ahead of time if you plan to attend a class. Our rooms hold only so many people at a time and I want us all
to be comfortable while we are learning and growing! I also have to prepare the correct amount of text books for

Other Happenings:
NAMI Ohio for the Sleep Out to Stop Stigma—a Mental Health awareness event at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm. A NAMI sponsored bus will be trans-porting members and other interested advocates to Columbus and be leaving from the Wernert Center at approximately 12 or 1pm Tuesday. For more information contact M. Vanessa Eubanks at the Ohio Wellness Network toll free number 1.877.643.6701.
NAMI Walks for the minds of America – This year’s annual event will take place on Saturday, May 14 with registration at 9 am, at the University of Toledo’s Health and Science Campus on Glendale Ave. This year’s walk is in memory of Marci Dvorak, Executive Director of NAMI of Greater Toledo, who passed away in January. Ideally, walkers collect donations in support of NAMI programs, but members can still walk with your friends from the Wernert Center. Join us as we make our pres-ence known and make a difference toward combating the stigma of mental illness. There is power in numbers! TOLEDO STATE HOSPITAL CEMETERIES VETERANS MEMORIAL PROGRAM-Join us on Satur-day, May 21, 2011 at 1 pm for a moving ceremony to remember the 1,994 forgotten souls who rest in the historic Toledo State Hospital Cemeteries (1888-1973), located at TSH Cemetery on Arlington Ave, west of S. Detroit, near the new Bowsher High School. A reception will follow at Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital at 930 Detroit Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43614-2701. Reservations would be appreciated by calling 419.381.1881 ext. 4662.
Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) Visits to the Wernert Center from law enforcement officers taking CIT will take place over two days, Wednesday, May 25 & Thursday, May 26, 2011. The four sessions of dia-logue will be held both days from 9am-10:20am and 10:45am-12pm.The time spent together is incredibly worthwhile and informative for all who participate in this very important part of CIT.
