Baptisms: Arrangements must be made by parents through the Rectory Office to schedule baptisms and arrange for Pre-Baptism classes. All parents expecting to baptize their first child are to attend Pre-Baptism classes.
Weddings: Arrangements should be made with a priest through the Rectory Office at least six months prior to the desired date. All couples must attend Pre-Cana classes which are normally scheduled in March.

НЕДІЛЯ ВСІХ СВЯТИХ
Сьогодні, в першу неділю після зіслання
Святого Духа церква вшановує людей, які стали
храмом Духа святого і своїм життям осягнули небо.
Святість — це життя за Божими
заповідями, це щоденне сповнювання Божої волі, це
постійна вірність обов'язкам свого стану, або
коротко: святість це святе Євангеліє в практиці.
Наш слуга Божий митрополит Андрей Шептицький
гарно сказав про значення Євангелія для нашого
життя і святости. "На мою думку, — каже він, —
причиною наших невдач і усіх язв нашого
церковного й національного життя є те, що
християнство, вчення Євангелія замало відносимо
до себе і замало передаємо його як святість душі...
Євангеліє це дорога до неба, це життя без плями,
без закидів, без пороків, це життя чисте, невинне,
святе, в якому смертна людина зривається до того,
щоб ревнувати з небесними ангелами. Євангеліє це
хресна дорога на гору Голготу. Християнське життя
це життя, в котрому людина двигає хрест, терпить і
йде слідом за Ісусом Христом... Життя по
Євангелію це надприродне життя Божої благодати,
це життя Божої любови й жертви для Бога, або
одним словом: це життя, в якому людина шукає і
змагає до святости" (Про виховання).

ПІСТ СВЯТИХ АПОСТОЛІВ - ПЕТРІВКА
“Хто молиться і постить, той має два
крила, легші від самого вітру"
(Святий Йоан Золотоустий).
Піст святих апостолів у нашій Церкві триває від
неділі Всіх святих до 29 червня — празника святих
Апостолів Петра й Павла. Святі апостоли молитвою і
постом готувалися до Зіслання Святого Духа. Вони багато
молилися й постили, доки почали проповідувати святе
Євангеліє. Після молитви й посту вони висвячували нових
пресвітерів на апостольську працю, як це читаємо в
Діяннях апостолів: "Вони наст ановили їм по церквах
пресвітерів, а після молитви й посту передали їх Господеві,
в якого ті увірували". Святий Йоан Золотоустий свідчить,
що "апостоли майже завжди постили".
Тож і свята Церква з давніх-давен молитвою і
постом приготовляє своїх вірних до великого празника
Святих верховних апостолів Петра й Павла, пам'ять яких
святкуємо 29 червня, а наступного дня ще й Собор 12
апостолів. Він знаний також як піст святих апостолів, піст
Апостольський, піст Петрів і піст літній. Наш народ зве
його Петрівкою.

Українські Злучені Організації Огайо висловлюють
сердечну подяку всім, хто взяв участь у вшануванні Дня
Пам’яті невинних жертв Чорнобильської катастрофи та
благодійній акції на підтримку дітей – інвалідів в
Україні. Урочисте вшанування відбулося в Соборі
Святого Володимира 24-го квітня і було зібрано понад 6
тисяч доларів на потреби дітей.

Український ансамбль танцю “КАШТАН”
запрошує громаду Великого Клівленду на
святковий концерт 2016 року. Концерт

Today is the Sunday of All Saints. We remember all of
those who have been filled with the Holy Spirit, who have
been transformed by our Lord and His love, as well as the
great pillars of the Church who first answered our Lord’s call
to seek the first the Kingdom of God. The root meaning of
the word “saint” is holy, and we are reminded today that the
great cloud of witnesses whose names and stories are cele-
brated openly in the Church, as well as those whose holiness
is not famous. For the Lord’s blessing is for all in every gen-
eration who respond to Him with obedience, faith, humility,
and love, whether they are widely known or not. The good news of the gospel is that we are all called to be-
come holy, actually to become saints. No matter who we are,
what mistakes we have made in our lives, no matter what our
circumstances are, we are all able to find the healing and
fulfillment that the saints have known. Remember that Jesus Christ said that He will confess us to
His Father in heaven if we confess Him before other people.
Do we treat other people with the love, care, and the dignity
that we would show to the Lord Himself? Do we speak to
others in ways that are blessings to them, that help them ex-
perience peace and joy? The real test is how we treat
them. We confess our faith when we live our faith.
STS. PETER & PAUL FAST
Sts. Peter & Paul Fast begins on Monday, June 1st and
continues until the Feast of Sts. Peter & Paul on June
29th. This Fast is observed by the faithful of the East-
ern Churches. Having rejoiced for fifty days following
Pascha, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Apostles
began to prepare for their departure from Jerusalem to
spread Christ's message throughout the world. Accord-
ing to Sacred Tradition, as part of their preparation,
they began a fast with prayer to ask God to strengthen
their resolve and to be with them during their mission-
ary efforts as they spread the Gospel.

these services in honor of the Theotokos, the Blessed

UKRAINIAN AMERICAN VETERANS
The Ukrainian American Veterans will be passing out
poppies & collecting money before all Divine Liturgies
on Saturday, May 21st and Sunday, May 22nd. All money will be
given to disabled veterans at the VA Hospital. APOSTLESHIP OF PRAYER - CORRECTION
PLEASE NOTE: The Apostleship of Prayer meeting date has
been changed. They will hold their next meeting on Wednesday,
May 25th at 6:30 PM in the Astrodome meeting room. All
members are encouraged to attend this important meeting as
election of officers will be held for the new term beginning this
Fall. We welcome anyone wishing to join this active group. MEMORIAL DAY SERVICES
Memorial Day is Monday, May 30, 2016. There will
be an observance at St. Andrew/Ss. Peter & Paul
Cemetery. Meet at the flagpole at 10:00 AM for a short
religious service followed by the Jacubic Post 572 American
Legion Post Honor Huard military salute.
The names of deceased who have served in the military will be
read aloud at the cemetery. Deadline for submission of names to
St. Josaphat Rectory Office is Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
Our priest will be available for private gravesite blessings upon
request. SUMMER PICNICS
The Parish will be having a picnic during the summer
months on the following Sundays starting after 9:30
Divine Liturgy until approximately 3:00 PM on following dates:
June 5 - July 10 - August 7. The picnics will be held subject to
weather conditions. In case of bad weather on above dates the
event will move to the Sunday thereafter.
The purpose of the picnic is to offer an opportunity to socialize
with the whole family, especially for the children to play games
and have fun and for the adults to meet with others especially
new parishioners and visitors.
The events will be held under the leadership of Hans Bloom,
Mihajlo Sopka and assisted by Men’s Club members. We also
welcome the help of parishioners for the set up, the serving of
food and drinks and after the event the breakdown of the tent
and clean up. Many hands will make the work light. Please
confirm your help to Hans Bloom by phone call or text message
at 440-463 5508. The events will be supervised by Fr. Bohdan
and in his absence by Fr. Joseph.
Mihajlo will take care of grilled food (Shiskabob), whereas
other food, coffee, pastries and drinks will be provided with
money received. Donations will be taken at the picnics. We
welcome any appetizers or deserts to bring and to share with
others.
The proceeds of each event will be deposited in a fund for
holding other and future events for parishioners and visitors to
our Parish. We hope you all will join on above dates and we
look forward to see you than. KASHTAN CONCERT

62ND HOLY DORMITION PILGRIMAGE
We are planning a pilgrimage to the Sisters Servants Mary
Immaculate 62nd Holy Dormition Pilgrimage, Sloatsburg, New
York on August 13 & 14, 2016 - two days with one night stay in
New York. The cost per person travel and lodging - $100.

Students who are attending or are planning to attend Duquesne
University should be aware of the availability of the Estina
Franzak Perpetual Scholarship Fund. The Fund is intended to
benefit students of Ukrainian ethnicity in their studies at
Duquesne University. The amount of scholarship varies.
Scholarships are awarded on an academic year basis.
Recipients from prior years will be considered for renewal of
awards, provided that they demonstrate satisfactory academic

The United Ukrainian Organizations of Ohio would like to
thank all who remembered the innocent victims of the
Chornobyl Accident 30 years ago. The solemn commemoration
held at St. Vladimir’s Cathedral on April 24th raised over

convention to a three-day event!
Connecting to Pope Francis’s dedication of the 2016 Jubilee
Year of Mercy, the theme of the convention will be centered upon
the Mercy of God.

The youth will have an opportunity to meet others from the
eparchy, develop friendships, and grow closer to our Lord
through the spiritual conferences and liturgical services that will
be provided. We hope that each participant will be able to afford
to experience God's mercy, which is poured on us by God's love
and kindness. Families are welcome. A ‘juniors program’ will be
available for younger attendees (ages 7-12). Registration for the
‘juniors program’ is necessary.
