Good news, our P&C run canteen will reopen on Friday 12 th June. Students will certainly be happy to be able to purchase their recess and lunch again. I’m sure parents will also be pleased to have a day where they don’t have to pack lunches. Please support our canteen as the P&C have had almost a full term without their usual income. Thank you to those volunteers who give up their time to work in the canteen over the year. Our Wednesday BBQ is back up and running, with orders due on Wednesday morning. We have decided not to run UCS Yum cooking for the remainder of this term. Students are still busy in the garden in their UCS Yum time. Next Wednesday, after lunch, is our school Cross Country. Please ensure your child wears appropriate shoes for running. We will post photos to our Facebook page as soon as possible after the event as we are unable to have spectators on the day. Even though it is not hot, it is important for students to stay hydrated throughout the day. Students should not be sharing drink bottles. I would like to remind parents and caregivers that if your child is unwell with a fever, cough, sore throat or headache please keep them at home. Although life is slowly returning to normal we still need to be vigilant with regard to keeping everyone safe. We have definitely noticed a decrease in the number of students with coughs and colds at this time of year, which is great. We will continue our good hygiene practices to keep the germs at bay. From the Principal’s desk…

Wow, we are at the end of Week 6 already!

With students only returning to school full

time last week, the rest of this term is sure to

fly.

The first day of winter arrived with some icy

cold weather on Monday. Please remember to

send a labelled jumper with your child each

day. Jumpers are not cheap and we always end

up with quite a few unlabelled jumpers in the

lost property throughout winter.

Good news, our P&C run canteen will reopen

on Friday 12th June. Students will certainly be

happy to be able to purchase their recess and

lunch again. I’m sure parents will also be

pleased to have a day where they don’t have to

pack lunches. Please support our canteen as

the P&C have had almost a full term without

their usual income. Thank you to those

volunteers who give up their time to work in

the canteen over the year.

Our Wednesday BBQ is back up and running,

with orders due on Wednesday morning. We

have decided not to run UCS Yum cooking for

the remainder of this term. Students are still

busy in the garden in their UCS Yum time.

Next Wednesday, after lunch, is our school

Cross Country. Please ensure your child wears

appropriate shoes for running. We will post

photos to our Facebook page as soon as

possible after the event as we are unable to

have spectators on the day.

A reminder that all students should be

bringing a drink bottle to school each day as

the bubblers are not able to be used at the

moment. Even though it is not hot, it is

important for students to stay hydrated

throughout the day. Students should not be

sharing drink bottles.

I would like to remind parents and caregivers

that if your child is unwell with a fever, cough,

sore throat or headache please keep them at

home. Although life is slowly returning to

normal we still need to be vigilant with regard

to keeping everyone safe. We have definitely

noticed a decrease in the number of students

with coughs and colds at this time of year,

which is great. We will continue our good

hygiene practices to keep the germs at bay.

Now is the time of year that our Year 12

students would start to attend HSC study days.

With excursions still unable to go ahead, our

three Year 12 students will attend study days

via platforms such as Zoom. There have been

Agriculture sessions this week and others will

happen across the term.

Until next week,

Terrie Payne

Year 5/6 have been studying poetry. They have looked at poems that contrast life in different times, for example, traditional Aboriginal life with post European Aboriginal life. They then wrote their own contrast poem of life before and after COVID-19.

YEAR 5/6 SCIENCE

YEAR 9/10 SCIENCE

YEAR 11 BIOLOGY

Year 11 students Michelene Izzard and Kadee Gerhard- Scali dissected the digestive tract of a pig as part of their depth

study on ‘Mammalian Digestion’ for an assessment task in Yr 11 Biology.

The Year 9/10 Science class have been learning about electricity. Students used the static electricity in the charged

rods to bend water flowing from a tap. They were very impressed at the results they achieved. The Van de Graff

Generator also provide examples of static electricity by attracting hair and provided a long spark between the two

metal balls. The noise from this electricity was loud and surprised the students.

Ungarie Preloved

For those of you who haven’t heard of Ungarie Preloved, this is a group I have

started, to support our committees in Ungarie.

My Dad’s sister sends clothing and extras from Shepparton and a friend from

Evolution delivers them to West Wyalong every second week. All proceeds go to

Ungarie charities.

So far we have raised over $1,500 for the Cemetery Committee and $500 for

the Tennis Club.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support.
