As president of the Franklin County Historical So- ciety, he endeavors to preserve Franklin County historical sites for future generations. Tom Nix, landscape artist, started painting seriously when he retired from teaching in the late 1990’s. He prefers to paint in acrylic, oils, and oil pastels. He has studied painting under Jane Stogner and Vera Dickerson, and is a member of the Bald Knob Artist Association.
