De hecho, ¿acaso no hemos sido nosotros mismos los cabezas duras? Quejumbrosos. . . impacientes. . . rápidos para enojarnos. ¡Qué suerte la de Moisés y qué suerte la nuestra que Dios es precisamente lo opuesto! Y ni siquiera tenemos que adivinarlo. El Señor nos lo dice directamente. Y en concordancia, Moisés hace lo que todos necesitamos hacer. Pese a tener las tablas en las manos, se postra y pide el perdón y la gracia de Dios. Alentándonos a vivir juntos en paz y con el favor de Dios, el apóstol Pablo sabe de esta gracia, e invoca con alegría la gracia del amor de Dios y del Espíritu Santo sobre nosotros. “Estén alegres”, dice. GRACE AND ETERNAL LIFE Moses is a man after our own hearts, for haven’t we all dealt with more than our share of stiff-necked people? Indeed, haven’t we all gotten a little stiff-necked ourselves at times? Complaining . . . impatient . . . quick to anger. How lucky for Moses—how lucky for all of us—that God is exactly the opposite! And we don’t even have to guess about it. The Lord tells us so directly. Accordingly, Moses does what we all need to do. Even with the tablets in hand, he bows down and asks for God’s forgiveness and grace. Encouraging us to live together in peace—and in God’s favor—the Apostle Paul knows all about this grace, joyfully invoking Christ’s grace on us along with God’s love and the Holy Spirit’s. “Rejoice,” he says. And when it comes to rejoicing, John offers us the gladdest words of all: the assurance of eternal life through Jesus.

O Mary, you always shine on our path

as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick,

who at the cross took part in Jesus' pain, keeping your faith firm.

You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so

that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after

this time of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love,

to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus,

who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us,

through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen. Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of

God. Do not disdain the entreaties of we who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger,

Oremos por nuestros enfermos, de nuestra Parroquia, de nuestra

comunidad, de nuestro país y de todo el mundo para que el Señor les dé la Salud de

cuerpo, alma y espíritu. Amén

Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas en Cristo:

“Estén alegres, trabajen para su perfección, anímense mutuamente, vivan en paz y armonía. Y el Dios de la paz y la armonía, y el Dios del amor y de la paz estará con ustedes. Salúdense los unos a los otros con el saludo de paz”. La alegría, el bienestar, la necesidad

del otro, no debería ser circunstancial, sino una decisión que refuerza la salud mental y la sintonía espiritual con nuestro Dios; eso no quiere decir sentirse a veces abatidos, es propio de las emociones, donde el buen manejo de ellas hace que se drene lo que afecta y dando razón de la esperanza se suelta y se convierte en una enseñanza más que nutre el alma. Son los caminos misteriosos de Dios y más misterio la Santísima Trinidad, lo que sí es descifrable que es la perfecta comunidad y en el Dios Uno y Trino seamos su pueblo santo.

Y así sigamos enfrentando esta realidad

matizada cada día con hechos que no ayudan a alejar lo que nos está dañando, vivir en una cultura de muerte. Aquí prevalece la ley del talión y con efectos devastadores que rayan hasta en vandalismos cuando se protesta contra el abuso, se responde con otras formas de abuso. Vivimos en un panorama que amenaza nuestra integridad y convivencia social, cada vez con estos sucesos vamos opacando estos conceptos que nos definen como seres civilizados.

Añoramos volver a juntarnos sin distancia

física, ni prevenidos, por ahora así es y debemos ser pacientes; en esta espera activa, seguir orando para que la Santísima Trinidad, nos traiga salud, vida y vida en abundancia, pongamos de parte para que esos días estén cercanos. Nuestras oficinas ya las hemos reabierto a medio tiempo de lunes a viernes de 9:00 a.m. a 1:00 p.m. estamos a la orden.

Gracias de nuevo a quienes, con sentido de

From the Desk of the Pastor... Del Escritorio Del Párroco... Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

“Rejoice. Mend your ways, encourage one another, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss." Joy, our well-being and the need for others should not be based on circumstances;

rather it should be a decision that reinforces mental health and spiritual harmony with our God; that does not mean that at times we will not feel dejected which is normal. But we can dissipate our negative emotions by managing them and then have reason to hope offering us a means to nourish our souls. These are the mysterious ways of God and in the mystery of the Blessed Trinity, the perfect community of the Triune God is revealed to us his holy people. And so we continue to face this obscure reality every day with data that do not help to put aside that which is harmful as we continue to live in a culture of death. Here the law of revenge prevails, with devastating results that border on vandalism while protesting against abuse which in turn is responded to by other forms of abuse. We live in an environment that threatens our integrity and social coexistence, and those concepts that define us as civilized human beings are being overshadowed by these events. We long to get back together without physical distance and restrictions. This is our situation for now and we must be patient. During this time of active waiting, keep praying to the Holy Trinity to bring us health and life in abundance; let us do our part so that those days come soon. Our church office has already reopened part time from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 1:00 p.m.; we are available to you. Thanks again to those who, with a sense of belonging, have continued to give their offerings for all these weeks. May the Lord doubly compensate your generosity. Remember that the church is open three hours from 8:00 to 11:00; come to the House of God to pray for our Church and for the whole world.

REOPENING ST. FORTUNATA CHURCH Bishop DiMarzio has given authorization for the opening of Churches: There will be three phases of reopening; the 1st phase for private prayer and devotion only: St. Fortunata will be open Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 11:00 in the morning for those who want to come to pray. The 2nd phase is daily Masses from Monday to Saturday, still pending; and the 3rd phase is Sunday Masses, still pending. More information to follow. • The faithful must clean their hands with hand sanitizer and wear masks at all times in the church. • There is to be no congregating of people. There should not be more than ten (10) people in the church and there cannot be a group gathered. • The faithful must not touch statues or other devotional objects in the church. • The faithful must observe social distancing rules. • The elderly and all who are health-compromised

MUST be advised to stay home. • There is to be NO holy water in the fountains. • There is still no order to celebrate daily
