SIXTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME FEBRUARY 17, 2019
My Dear Parishioners,
Praised be Jesus Christ! This week marks one month since the official start of our Jubilee Year and the visit of Bishop McIntyre to our parish! Since that me, our Jubilee Celc Cross has been vising homes of the
parish and our families connue to pray for all our many intenons. Thanks to all who have signed up to host the Cross, I believe more weeks are available through the year. Visit our parish website for details.
In light of how quickly me moves, please be advised of the following dates and items:
Sunday March 3: Fr. Connelly will be offering a connuaon of his faith formaon series on the Church.
Wednesday March 6: Lent Begins!
March 10, 11, 12: FORTY HOURS AT ST PATRICK’S! Fr. Steve DeLacy will be our guest preacher each evening. Father is a young, dynamic preacher and this special me will lead us right into our Parish Feast Day!
March 17: St. Patrick Feast Day and our Parish Gala at the Mendenhall.
In addion to those events, March will bring a few projects to us as well:
1) New Roof for our Parish Office Building on Lafayee Street
2) New upper ramp for our handicap ramp on the side of the Church
3) New Landscaping Prep for our Columbarium at the cemetery.
Last weekend in addion to our Annual Valenne’s Mass/Social, we had a fruiul gathering for our parish leaders and ministry heads to discuss the various ministries and acvies being done here at the parish. We asked aloud and shared in depth among ourselves “How we might achieve a greater alignment of our ministries, our community and our parish mission?” It was an excing gathering and among the items being considered is the addion of a new posion to our parish staff. Someone to assist with parish communicaon, co-ordinaon, families and young people. Please keep this in your prayers as we connue to learn best how to share the joy of the Gospel in current mes.
Finally, this week brings us to the Meeng of the Holy Father with the Heads of all the Bishop Conferences of the World to discuss the Abuse Crisis. This gathering was called by the Pope in response to the McCarrick atrocies and the connued revelaon of unfaithful bishops. The meeng runs this week, Thursday to Sunday. While I hope for the best and that is in my opinion a clear, unequivocal process for dealing with bishops who have been unfaithful; there are respected people suggesng not much will happen at the meeng. Nevertheless, I ask you to join me in prayer for the connued purificaon of all the filth in the Church. I ask you to pray to St. Peter Damien, a great Doctor and Saint of the Church who dealt with clergy abuse back in the 11th Century. Ironically/ Providenally, his feast day is this Thursday, the day the meengs begin!
May St. Peter Damien intercede to God the Father Almighty and send The Holy Spirit upon all the bishops, priests and deacons of the Church so that they may be reformed inside and out and be the men they are called to be. AMEN.
Peace,
Fr. Rogers 236

Our Lady appeared to a young girl (Bernadee) on February 11, 1858 in Lourdes, France and said to “PRAY THE ROSARY EVERYDAY” and es-pecially to pray for poor sinners.
Our Lady also performed a miracle by having a spring appear in the ground which sll exists today. Thousands of people visit the miracu-
lous spring at Lourdes every year and experience miracles. Dur-ing the month of February, you will have the special opportunity to bless yourself with the spring water from Lourdes because there will be a Holy Water font in the back of St. Patrick’s Church next to the large Holy Water container. Please take advantage of this chance to bless yourself with this holy water from Lourdes and you can experience a miracle as well!
Bernadee became a nun and died when she was only 35 years old and then was declared a SAINT. Bernadee’s body never decayed and you can see her incorrupt body on display in the convent in Nevers, France. You can also see her body on the internet at hp://www.pbase.com/shaunwin/the_incorrupble & YouTube: hp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMSCubd3hAg.
Let’s PRAY THE ROSARY EVERYDAY like Our Lady asked us to do!

REMEMBER WHEN?
The 4th and 5th grade classes were together in the downstairs classroom.
DID YOU KNOW? The subjects of the stained glass windows in the church were chosen by the pastor in
1907, Fr. John O’Donel. The windows depict on Mary’s side, from front to back, The Blessed Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus (in memory of Mr. & Mrs. Felix Slavin), St. Patrick (donated by Mr. & Mrs. William O’Neill), St. Agnes (in memory of Margaret Cunch), St. Mahew (in memory of Gerald McCarthy) and St. Luke the Evangelist (donated by Reverend Father Hugo).
