consider participating in the upcoming Apologetics II class in September. This study will be held on Thursday evenings from 7-8:30 P.M. for 10-12 weeks. (Dates soon to be announced.) This class will cover various Catholic Doctrines and Dogmas from the perspective of the Early Church Fathers. Marc White and Mike Newberg will lead the sessions. Feast of St. Monica Thursday, August 27

Please join us for Mass at 6:00 P.M. followed by the praying of the Chaplet of St. Monica. These wonderful, powerful prayers are said

in her name most often by parents, and grandparents for the return of their children/family members to the Catholic faith. (Chaplets will be available at the church entrance.)

Much of what we know of St. Monica revolves around her son, St. Augustine, and the long seventeen years in which she prayed and labored for the salvation of his soul. We read in St. Augustine's Confessions of the perils of his former life: "See what I was in myself and by myself. I had destroyed myself, but He who made me remade me." Though by his own admission he at one time lived a life of laziness and impurity. St. Augustine is today one of 33 Doctors of the Catholic Church, the Doctor of Grace and the Doctor of Doctors.
