Early Childhood (ECC) Summer Camp is the introduction to the day camp experience. Children enjoy the vibrancy of our JCC atmosphere, coupled with the intimacy of caring, professional staff and dedicated space. Campers who currently attend the ECC will benefit from the continuity of care, enjoying summer in a familiar environment. For JCC newcomers, camp is a chance to experience the diversity of our membership and the loving support given by our staff. Our experienced counselors provide each child with developmentally appropriate activities in the areas of art, music, sports, drama, and Judaic traditions, as well as daily water-play in the MJCC Water Park.

New campers swim abilities and comfort levels are assessed within the first few days of each session and they are placed into Red Cross Learn to Swim instructional groups based upon the results. What is TAG?TAG stands for Torah (learning and living), Avodah (service and spirituality), and Gemilut Chasadim (acts of loving kindness). TAG introduces Jewish content, finding ways to integrate Jewish values, experience and concepts into the centerpiece of MJCC Day Camp. Jewish values fall directly in line with overall human values, so this program is for everyone! Last summer, we introduced the TAG curriculum with great success and we are excited to watch the program grow even more this summer.

MJCC Summer Camp StaffStaff is hired based on experience with children, previous camp experience and/or experience in education. We hire trained professionals for our Specialty Camps who love to work with children. We hold our staff to the highest possible standard and require our staff to go through an intensive training period prior to working each summer.

LunchCampers must bring a lunch EVERY DAY. Lunches can also be ordered on a per session basis from Holy Cow. To order lunch for your child(ren) please call 598-1152. Lunches are stored in the MJCC kitchen. Lunches will be stored in a cool, dry place, but will NOT be refrigerated. Please DO NOT send money for lunch – vending machines are not available to campers.

Day Camp Drop-off and Pick-up

In order to keep your child(ren) safe at camp, we have strict drop-off and pick-up procedures. Cell phone use is prohibited during drop-off & pick-up

Drop-offParents must drive to the back of the building. All upper camp campers should follow the cones to the edge of the camp pavilion. Camp staff will be on duty beginning at 8:50 a.m. to open car doors and greet campers. Campers arriving late to camp should be brought to the Day Camp Office in the camp pavilion.

Pick-upAll upper camp campers will be picked up at the camp pavilion. When you enter the MJCC via the back parking lot, your child’s name will be announced at the camp pavilion. When you sign your child up for camp you will be given a sign to put on the passenger side of the dashboard that will contain your child’s first name, last name and group. It is very important that you have this out so we can quickly read the name and call your child so he/she is ready when you pull up. Staff will escort your child to the sidewalk and wait for your car to arrive. While in the pick-up line you will be asked to sign-out your child and the staff will assist your child into the car. Please DO NOT get out of the car.
