About our facilities:Camp sessions take place on the beauti-ful St. Thomas Episcopal Parish School seven and a half-acre campus in Coral Gables. Indoor activities are held in our building’s air-conditioned classrooms. Specialty classes are held in classrooms designed and equipped for these purposes. Campers enjoy the use of our spacious �elds and playground.

About our sta�:All St. Thomas Summer Programs are sta�ed by quali�ed St. Thomas teachers whose reassuring attitudes encourage creativity and exploration. We feature numerous specialty teachers who have been trained to build skills in their areas of expertise. Safety is a primary concern of the St. Thomas sta� and our mem-bers have been trained in First Aid and CPR. The low camper- to-sta� ratio allows time for individual attention and maximum supervision.

Snacks and Lunch:Summer camp tuition includes snacks for all campers. A hot lunch from area vendors is available for an additional fee of $30/week. There will be only one choice per day for lunch. Campers with particular tastes or allergies are encour-aged to pack a lunch. Further informa-tion on weekly lunches will be provided. Daily attendees must bring their own lunch. 

Extended Care: Extended Care will be available to all campers in the mornings and afternoons at an additional charge. Service is available on an hourly basis at a rate of $10/hour. Campers may arrive as early as 8:00 A.M. and may be picked up as late as 4:00 P.M. A fee of $1.00 per minute will be charged for campers not picked up by 4:00 P.M. After care can be prepaid - see schedule of fees.

Absences/Changes: A deposit of 50% of the total camp fees must accompany the registration form. The 50% deposit is non-refundable. You may pay it ONLINE. Camp groups are sta�ed based on enrollment. Therefore, changes to your child’s registration cannot be made after May 31st, 2011. A fee of $50 per camper will be charged for any changes made after the above-mentioned date. There will be no make-ups or refunds for days missed. Camp Gear: A T-shirt, water bottle, and bag will be distributed only to campers attending a full week. Campers are encouraged to bring their water bottles, sun block, and caps daily. T-shirts must be worn on �eld trips. All equipment and clothing must be labeled.

Fine Arts Camp at St. Thomas is an excep-tional performing and visual arts program led by experts and highly-respected teaching artists. This program provides an exciting combination of traditional summer camp experiences with a special-ized performing and visual arts program. Tap, Hip-hop, and Irish dance classes will be o�ered. In this four week camp, children will experience many di�erent art forms. The camp will culminate in a spectacular arts performance. Please join us for this creative and inspiring time together!

Creative Kids camps are perfect for �rst time campers and full of exciting surprises for our experienced veterans! Creative Kids is designed for preschool and kinder-garten children wishing to go to camp and is the perfect introduction to the St. Thomas family!

A half-day program (9:00-12:00 p.m.) is available to entering junior preschoolers (age 3) only.

Adventure Fun Camp is a fun-�lled summer camp that includes 5 weeks of activities that will keep your child wanting to come back for more.  Every day is an adventure!  A typical day of camp will include: games and sports, hands-on science lessons, arts and crafts, and cooling o� with water games.  Each week will also include a �eld trip to a local establishment.  Adventure Fun Camp allows the campers to play, create, explore, and have FUN!

Reading/Writing:  This camp emphasizes developing READING �uency, learning comprehension skills, and building vocabulary in a fun, hands-on environ-ment. Campers also practice WRITING skills by working through each step of the Writing Process and publishing their work. Small class size provides an intimate reading and writing experience, tailored to meet your child’s needs.

Math: This camp will allow your child to explore the world of mathematics! Camp-ers will develop mathematical under-standing through the use of “yummy” hands-on learning and interactive games.  Campers will be taught to apply multiple strategies for developing number sense, problem solving, and fact memorization. The goal of this program is to build con�-dence and success in math skills for camp-ers and help them to get ready for the next grade! 

Thrills and Spills Camp o�ers fun, creative science projects in which campers will share in science discovery while being introduced to science concepts through hands-on experiments, activities, and take-home science projects.

In some of the activities, the campers will have the opportunity to create, custom-ize, and test a working model. All materi-als will be provided, including the use of either LEGO® or K'NEX® pieces.

During the second part of this awesome camp program, the participants will have opportunities to invent and create wild and wacky experiments to share with the whole camp! Sometimes, they will even get to eat their creations!

Session B: June 13 – June 24Week One: Robots and PolymersChildren will build Robots using K’Nex model building sets that are powered by motors and solar power. Children will also create a solar oven and then use their creation to experiment and cook s’mores in them. Children will have fun making magnetic slime, moo gloo, and other gooey substances. Students will make snow�akes in summer.Week Two: Amusement Park and Edible ChemistryChildren will create and build an Amusement Park using K’Nex. There will be roller coasters zooming up and down and twisting round; Ferris wheels turning round and chair swings spinning round. Students will use chemistry procedures to create their own bubble gum, candy and soda. Students will also bake and decorate cupcakes.

Session C: June 27 – July 8 (no camp July 4)

Week Three: Paleontology and GeologyStudents will create a volcano using cardboard boxes and plaster of Paris. Students will grow crystals and attempt to make their own geodes. Students will create their own dinosaur digs and fossils. Students who are up for a challenge can build wooden dinosaurs. On Friday the volcanoes will erupt with molten lava �owing.Week Four: Transportation and MotionStudents will use K’Nex to invent their own di�erent types of transportation such as airplanes, trains, boats and cars. We will explore di�erent sources of energy that will make vehicles move like wind power, solar power and chemical reactions. Students will build small catapults and see what �ies further macaroni or marshmallows.

Each camp session will also include: Field & Indoor Game Activities Arts and Crafts Computer Lab Waterslide & Sno-Cone Fun!
