    MEMBER SERVICEMembership CardsAll new members (11yrs old and older) willreceive a bar-coded membership card which they are

    required to scan each time they enter the Y facility. Fora family membership, each family member needs to scanhis or her card upon entrance into the facility.

    Day PassesNon-member guests who would like to use the facilityare required to pay for a day pass at the front desk.Guests are expected to follow all rules set for members.

    Lockers and LocksFor your convenience, lockers are available inthe locker rooms for daily use. We strongly

    recommend you bring a lock to secure yourpersonal items.

    Age guidelinesYouth under age 15 must be accompanied by a legalguardian or be participating in a YMCA program while inthe facility. Ages 11-14 must be accompanied by alegal guardian in the Wellness Center areas and havecompleted a fitness center orientation.

    Summer Day CampThis summer, send your kids to camp at the Y and ensure that they get the

    traditional outdoor camp experience! Our hope is that years from now, yourchild will look back on their time at Summer Camp and remember it as a very

    special time in their life. Camp is open to kids entering Kindergarten through

    finishing 8th grade.

    adults, anyone can enjoy practicing and learning about all different types of

    mediums and art styles. No experience is necessary. Check back often for new

    Healthy Kids DaySaturday, April 27, 2013 11:00am - 1:00pm

    As a leading nonprofit strengthening community through healthyliving, the Y holds an annual Healthy Kids Day event to teach healthy

    habits to families and kids while inspiring a lifetime love of physicalactivity. At a time when one in three children in the United Statesare overweight or obese (according to the Centers for DiseaseControl and Prevention), developing healthier habits that includeincreased physical activity is more important than ever.

    YMCA Healthy Kids Day brings families and communities together tocelebrate healthy living with a FREE fun-filled day of interactivegames, family activity, giveaways and more. You can also getinformation about or register for summer camp, sports and otherpositive Y programs that support more than strong bodies - theyredesigned to help shape kids character, too!

    42nd Annual

    Tiadaghton Race 10K/5K Run & 5K WalkSaturday, June 29, 2013

    Join us in the 42nd annual Tiadaghton Race this summer! Choose to do the10K Run, 5K Run, or 5K Walk that supports our Ys annual Strong Kids

    Campaign. The Strong Kids Campaign is a fundraising effort to increasesupport for the Jersey Shore Branch YMCAs scholarship fund. Proceeds

    from the race will directly fund scholarships that allow children and familiesto benefit from programs that enhance youth development, healthy living,

    and social responsibility.

    10th Annual Ride/Walk with the YSunday, September 29, 2013

    Join us at this popular, family-oriented event on the beautiful 'Rails-to-Trails' in ourarea! Choose to participate by foot or bicycle on one of four different trail lengths.All four courses feature sight-seeing opportunities, such as fall foliage andspectacular land marks. Optional transportation is provided from parking areas toeach course starting location, with all courses tentatively ending at the Jersey ShoreBranch YMCA. Lunch and prizes will be served until 5:30 PM at the Ys rear parking

    lot. This years courses will be announced soon!

    SHANGRAW WELLNESS CENTEROur NEW wellness center upgrades are complete andopen for use! Sign up for a FREE Fitness Orientation

    which is available to all adult members. To use theShangraw Wellness Center, youth 11-14yrs old mustcomplete a Fitness Orientation and have a parentpresent in this area during use. Fitness Orientationsmay be arranged at the Front Desk.NOTE: Children under 11 yrs are not permitted inthe Wellness Center or in group exercise classes.

    SPINNINGSpinning class is a great way to get in a vigorousworkout, burn calories, and keep your muscles in shape.Spin class is instructor-lead and takes the participantthrough a warm-up, steady up-tempo cadences, sprints,climbs, cool-downs, etc. The participant controls theresistance on the bike to make the pedaling as easy ordifficult as you choose.Mondays - Tuesdays - Thursdays 7:15 - 8:00pm

    PRACTICE PEACEA combination of Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, meditationand breathing exercises to relieve stress, stretch tiredmuscles and find harmony in your body.Wednesdays 7:15 - 8:00pm

    YOGAA basic yoga class using Hatha and Vinyasa styles tobuild your fitness level and increase your range ofmotion.Fridays 10:15 - 11:00am

    PILATESPilates is a conditioning program that improves musclecontrol, flexibility, coordination, strength, and tone.Appropriate for all individuals, regardless of physicalcondition or age. Mat-based exercises promote goodposture, proper breathing and body control. Pilatestraining lengthens and strengthens your muscles,

    especially the abdomen, buttocks and thighs. It relievetension, improves posture, and helps protect againstinjuries.Tuesdays 5:00 - 5:45pm

    CARDIO BALLThis is a great group exercise class that will give you afun and effective workout in just 30 minutes. This clasincludes the use of an inflatable exercise ball.Thursdays 11:15 - 11:45am

    CHILD CAREENSURE ABRIGHTER FUTUREY-KIDS LEARN PRESCHOOL

    Our preschool program, for ages 3 to 5 yrs,provides children with a safe environment inwhich they can grow and develop to their fullpotential. We have a dedicated and professionalstaff who will help your child grow socially andeducationally while also teaching the values ofcaring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

    While enrolled in Y-Kids, your child willexperience:Weekly educational themesKindergarten readiness skillsField trips

    There are currently 3 preschool class options:Mon/Wed/Fri class ages 4 &5- $120 permonthTues/Thurs class age 3- $100 per monthMon-Fri class age 4 & 5 - $200 per month

    More classes may be added based on interest.For further information, please speak with ourChild Care Director.

    Scholarships may be available to those whocannot afford YMCA fees. Please call or stopby the YMCA for an application.

    SACCOur School Age Child Care, for ages 5 to 12 years,

    provides a safe and structured environment with manyactivities to keep your child busy and focused. Someof the activities your child will experience whileenrolled in the Jersey Shore YMCA SACC program are:

    Child care is available Monday through Friday, beforeand after school or on an as needed basis. We also

    provide all-day care for scheduled, non-weather re-lated school closings (i.e. Act 80 &selected vacationdays). We have three locations to serve your needs:

    Jersey Shore Elementary: 6:00am-6:00pmNippenose Elementary: After school-6:00pmSalladasburg Elementary: After school-6:00pm

    SACC fees:Before and after school care - $70 per weekBefore or after school care - $55 per weekAs needed, per session - $25 per day

    Brick House is an after school program for adolescents andteens, generally those in junior high and high school, that is

    offered at no cost through the generosity of the LycomingCounty United Way.

    The program is designed to prepare youth and teens forsuccess in life through activities that build self-esteem andteach important life skills. Brick House promotes healthylifestyle decisions and habits and is focused toward keepingkids off the street after school. Our friendly and caring staffmembers provide each teen with a unique experience. Teenswill be engaged in activities that include homework help,

    tutoring, mentoring, goal setting, sports activities, teen leadershipopportunities, career planning, educational opportunity, and workshops aboutpreventing drug and alcohol use. Service learning is stressed and encouraged.The program is both fun and educational.

    CHILDWATCHOur YMCA has a pleasant environment foryour children ages 3 months to 5 years old inour child watch room. While you work out,your children are cared for by our qualifiedYMCA staff. This service is FREE to membersand $1.00 per child, per visit fornon-members.

    The Child Watch hours are as follows:

    Monday - Thursday...4:30-7:30pm

    ADULT BASKETBALL LEAGUESUMMER 2013

    Shoot for better health and sign-up a team in the summer series of ourAdult Basketball League at the Y! All games are officiated by two trainedreferees, plus statistics are kept by the Y and posted online weeklythroughout the season. All players age 18 and up are encouraged to jointhe fun!
