    MEMBER SERVICEMembership CardsAll new members (11yrs old and older) willreceive a bar-coded membership card which they are

    required to scan each time they enter the Y facility. Fora family membership, each family member needs to scanhis or her card upon entrance into the facility.

    Day PassesNon-member guests who would like to use the facilityare required to pay for a day pass at the front desk.Guests are expected to follow all rules set for members.

    Lockers and LocksFor your convenience, lockers are available inthe locker rooms for daily use. We strongly

    recommend you bring a lock to secure yourpersonal items.

    Age guidelinesYouth under age 15 must be accompanied by a legalguardian or be participating in a YMCA program while inthe facility. Ages 11-14 must be accompanied by alegal guardian in the Wellness Center areas and havecompleted a fitness center orientation.

    As a leading nonprofit strengthening community through healthyliving, the Y holds an annual Healthy Kids Day event to teach healthyhabits to families and kids while inspiring a lifetime love of physicalactivity. At a time when one in three children in the United Statesare overweight or obese (according to the Centers for DiseaseControl and Prevention), developing healthier habits that includeincreased physical activity is more important than ever.

    YMCA Healthy Kids Day brings families and communities together tocelebrate healthy living with a FREEFREEFREEFREE fun-filled day of interactivegames, family activity, giveaways and more. You can also get

    information about or register for summer camp, sports and otherpositive Y programs that support more than strong bodies - theyredesigned to help shape kids character, too!

    At the Jersey Shore Branch YMCA, we know that parents struggle tofind the time to incorporate more active play and healthier habitsinto their kids daily routine. Doing so doesnt have to require extramoney or resources. Its as simple as making a play date with yourkids, with two key requirements be active and have fun!

    Tiadaghton Race 10K & 5K Run & 5K WalkSaturday, June 30, 2013

    Join us in the 42nd annual Tiadaghton Race this summer! Choose to do the 10KRun, 5K Run, or 5K Walk that supports our Ys annual Strong Kids Campaign. TheStrong Kids Campaign is a fundraising effort to increase support for the JerseyShore Branch YMCAs scholarship fund. Proceeds from the race will directly fundscholarships that allow children and families to benefit from programs thatenhance youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

    SHANGRAW WELLNESS CENTEROur NEW wellness center upgrades are complete andopen for use! Sign up for a FREE Fitness Orientation

    which is available to all adult members. To use theShangraw Wellness Center, youth 11-14yrs old mustcomplete a Fitness Orientation and have a parentpresent in this area during use. Fitness Orientationsmay be arranged at the Front Desk.NOTE: Children under 11 yrs are not permitted inthe Wellness Center or in group exercise classes.

    POWER STEP AEROBICSJoin this enjoyable, challenging workout that can beadapted to any fitness level! This class combines circuittraining with steps, aerobic exercises, weights, andkettle bells resulting in a powerful workout that willburn fat and tone muscle.

    ZUMBAZumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before you knowit, youre getting fit and your energy levels are soaring!Theres no other fitness class like a Zumba fitnessparty. Its easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating,often building a deep-rooted community amongreturning students.

    ZUMBA GOLDThis class takes the Zumba formula and modifies themoves and pacing to suit the needs of active agingadults, as well as those just starting their journey to afit and healthy lifestyle. What stays the same are all

    the elements that the Zumba fitness party is knownfor: the zesty Latin music, easy to follow moves, andthe invigorating, party-like atmosphere.

    SPINNINGSpinning class is a great way to get in a vigorousworkout, burn calories, and keep your muscles in shape.Spin class is Instructor lead and it takes the participant

    through a warm-up, steady up-tempo cadences, sprints,climbs, cool-downs, etc. The participant controls theresistance on the bike to make the pedaling as easy ordifficult as you they choose.

    CHILD CAREENSURE A

    BRIGHTER FUTUREY-KIDS LEARN PRESCHOOL

    Our preschool program, for ages 3 to 5 yrs,provides children with a safe environment inwhich they can grow and develop to their fullpotential. We have a dedicated and professionalstaff who will help your child grow socially andeducationally while also teaching the values ofcaring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

    While enrolled in Y-Kids, your child willexperience: Weekly educational themes Kindergarten readiness skills Field trips

    There are three preschool class options: there isa M/W/F class, a Tu/Th class, or a M-F class.Preschool hours are 9:00 am until Noon.

    Preschool fees:

    Mon/Wed/Fri class - $120 per month Tues/Thurs class - $100 per month Mon-Fri class - $200 per month

    Scholarships may be available to those whocannot afford YMCA fees. Please call or stopby the YMCA for an application.

    SACCOur School Age Child Care, for ages 5 to 12 years,

    provides a safe and structured environment with manyactivities to keep your child busy and focused. Someof the activities your child will experience whileenrolled in the Jersey Shore YMCA SACC program are: Homework time Crafts Games Gym time Outdoor Activities

    Child care is available Monday through Friday, beforeand after school or on an as needed basis. We alsoprovide all-day care for scheduled, non-weather re-lated school closings (i.e. Act 80 &selected vacationdays). We have three locations to serve your needs: Jersey Shore Elementary: 6:00am-6:00pm Nippenose Elementary: After school-6:00pm Salladasburg Elementary: After school-6:00pm

    SACC fees:

    Brick House is an after school program for adolescents and teens, generallythose in junior high and high school, that is offered at no costno costno costno cost through the

    generosity of the Lycoming County United Way.

    The program is designed to prepare youth and teens for success in lifethrough activities that build self-esteem and teach important life skills. BrickHouse promotes healthy lifestyle decisions and habits and is focused towardkeeping kids off the street after school. Our friendly and caring staff membersprovide each teen with a unique experience. Teens will be engaged in

    activities that include homework help, tutoring, mentoring, goal setting, sportsactivities, teen leadership opportunities, career planning, educational

    opportunity, and workshops about preventing drug and alcohol use. Service

    learning is stressed and encouraged. The program is both fun and educational.

    CHILDWATCHOur YMCA has a pleasant environment foryour children ages 3 months to 5 years old inour child watch room. While you work out,your children are cared for by our qualifiedYMCA staff. This service is FREE to membersand $1.00 per child, per visit fornon-members.

    The Child Watch hours are as follows:

    WINTER YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUESAll of the YMCA youth basketball leagues give players the opportunity to enhance theirplaying skills as well as work together as a team. Sportsmanship will be stressed as

    YOUTH INSTRUCTIONAL VOLLEYBALLExperience what volleyball is all about! Players ages 13 to 17 will spend time on thecourt working on individual skills plus group activities and games. Learn how to serve,dig, pass and set as well as fundamentals ofdefense and team play.Details:

    SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITYYMCA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMThe YMCA works to ensure that regardless ofability to pay, we make it possible for everyone in the

    community to participate in our programs andactivities. For that reason, our Y has a scholarshipprogram to make our programs and activities moreaffordable. In previous years, the Y awarded over$250,000 in membership and program subsidies tothose who could not afford the fees.

    If you believe in the mission of the Y and youbelieve in how the Y can help individuals andfamilies in our community with improving their health,then please consider a donation to the Jersey Shore
