The candidate’s answers show comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the facts, conceptsand principles in the Biology curriculum. He/she demonstrates proficient skills in questions related to scientific investigation (e.g. photomicrograph recognition in Paper 1 Q.3, Q.4(b) and Q.6(d); experimental design in Paper 1 Q.6(a), Q.6(c), Q.7(a) and Q.7(c)) . He/she also handlesthe questions set on unfamiliar situations competently (e.g. Paper 1 Q.5 and Q.9; Paper 2 Q.1(b)).He/she is able to select relevant knowledge from different topics and use scientific terminology to communicate ideas coherently and effectively in the essay questions (Paper 1 Q10).
