Dear Parents,

We had a great celebration of Catholic Schools Week last week and thank you for all the support from Open House, Family Mass, Vocation/Career Day speakers, and Catholic Schools Got Talent, to our Plaid Bag collection. We are blessed with such a generous community and truly appreciate all the effort that is put into keeping St. Laurence Catholic School successful. When we have a need, our parent community always steps up and we could not do all that we do on a daily basis without your help. This week we are looking ahead to several big events that are led by our amazing and hard-working PTO. This Friday, is Grace Before the Race, which is a fun family event in partnership with the Knights of Columbus. Many of you might remember our Family Movie Nights. It has evolved to both dinner AND a movie in our very own gym, so I hope you will join us this Friday night. Next week is the big Steps for Students Race on Saturday. If you have never participated, I encourage you to join us downtown for another great family-friendly event. Whether you enjoy running or walking, this is a fun way to see all the other Catholic schools and socialize with other Saints parents. If you know you can’t make the race, you can always register and “snooze”, to show your support. Everything is over by 10:30am that morning, which gives you plenty of time to clean up and head to the ever popular Father/Daughter dance that evening. We even give you Monday off to recuperate, so if you haven’t already signed up to participate, please do so! Please keep in mind that Steps for Students is the only PTO fundraiser and it allows us not to charge for nights like the Father/Daughter Dance or Hoops and Dogs. PTO sponsors so many events for the community and all of you are already members! We have some incentives for the students who register so see the details below and don’t miss out on those special upcoming rewards!

God bless,

Suzanne Barto

WHAT HAPPENED TO DECATS AT ST. LAURENCE?

If you have had a child attend DECATS at SLCS in the past or if you have heard that we normally host this great program for students who qualify, you may be wondering why it has been moved to St. Theresa in Sugar Land this summer. We are actually having some construction taking place over the summer and due to the amount of time and work it will entail, the school building may be off limits for the months of June/July. We hope to welcome all our DECATS scholars and crew back the following year! Thanks for your patience.
