1. THESE DRAWINGS AND THE SPECIFICATIONS FORM THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. ALL WORK SHALL CONFORM TO THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, WHICH INCLUDE THE ADDENDA AND MODIFICATIONS ISSUED BY THE ARCHITECT. ALL WORK, TO BE ACCEPTABLE, MUST BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THESE DOCUMENTS, AND MUST BE OF A QUALITY EQUAL OR BETTER THAN THE STANDARD OF THE TRADE. ANY CONFLICTS OR DISCREPANCIES IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS SHALL BE REFERRED TO THE ARCHITECT IN WRITING PRIOR TO PROCEEDING.
2. ALL CODES HAVING JURISDICTION ARE HEREBY MADE A PART OF THIS DOCUMENT AND ARE TO BE STRICTLY OBSERVED BY THE CONTRACTOR IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROJECT. THIS INCLUDES THE CURRENT EDITION OF THE ONTARIO BUILDING CODE INCLUDING AMENDMENTS. IN CASE OF CONFLICT BETWEEN THESE DOCUMENTS AND THE CODE, THE CODE SHALL PREVAIL. IN CASE OF CONFLICT OR DISCREPANCY IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE OWNER AND ARCHITECT.
3. THE CONTRACTOR IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION MEANS, METHODS, TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES AND PROCEDURE AND FOR ALL SAFETY PROGRAMS AND PRECAUTIONS IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROJECT. NEITHER THE OWNER NOR THE ARCHITECT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTRACTOR'S FAILURE TO FOLLOW PROPER SAFETY PROCEDURES.
4. ALL INFORMATION SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS RELATIVE TO EXISTING CONDITIONS IS GIVEN WITH THE BEST PRESENT KNOWLEDGE. ANY DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN THE DOCUMENTS AND THE EXISTING CONDITIONS SHALL BE REFERRED TO THE ARCHITECT IN WRITING PRIOR TO PROCEEDING.
5. PRIOR TO BEGINNING WORK, CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND ENSURE THAT ALL WORK IS BUILDABLE AS SHOWN. CONDITIONS THAT ARE NOT REFLECTIVE OF THAT WHICH IS SHOWN SHALL BE REFERRED TO THE ARCHITECT IN WRITING PRIOR TO COMMENCING CONSTRUCTION.
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL AT ALL TIMES PROVIDE PROTECTION TO MAINTAIN ALL WORK, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT FREE FROM DAMAGE. SUPPLY HOARDING WALLS WITH LOCKING DOORS C/W CLOSERS, TO ISOLATE WORK AREA AS REQUIRED; SUPPLY THREE KEYS TO OWNERS' REPRESENTATIVE; SUPPLY DUST PROTECTION & COMPLY WITH OHSA & REGULATIONS CONCERNING DESIGNATED SUBSTANCES.
7. CONTRACTOR SHALL DEMOLISH/REMOVE FROM SITE ALL EXISTING CONSTRUCTION AND IMPROVEMENTS AS NECESSARY FOR COMPLETION OF WORK; CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPPLY SHORING C/W ENGINEERING WHERE NECESSARY AND AS REQUIRED.
8. PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION WASTE BIN AND RECYCLING BINS. RECYCLE ALL MATERIALS WHERE FACILITIES EXIST. A SMALL WASTE BIN CAN BE ACCOMMODATED ON SITE IN COOPERATION WITH THE OWNER. THE WASTE BIN SHALL NOT INTERRUPT THE DRIVE LANES, WILL BE MAINTAINED & PROTECTED AT THE SOLE EXPENSE OF THE CONTRACTOR. THE WASTE BIN WILL BE PROMPTLY DEMOBILIZED AT THE REQUEST OF THE OWNER. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF WASTE DISPOSAL.
9. MATERIALS, PRODUCTS AND EQUIPMENT SHALL ALL BE NEW, EXCEPT AS SPECIFICALLY NOTED OTHERWISE. SUPPLY SHOP DRAWINGS FOR REVIEW; PROVIDE A LETTER OF CONFIRMATION THAT SUPPLIES ARE IN INVENTORY IN ADVANCE OF MOBILIZATION.
10. CONTRACTOR TO PRECISELY LOCATE ALL UTILITIES PRIOR TO ANY CONSTRUCTION AND/OR EXCAVATION.
11. PATCH/REPAIR AND MAKE GOOD ALL SURFACES AFFECTED BY CONSTRUCTION. PROVIDE ADEQUATE BLOCKING AND/OR BRACING AT WALL HUNG OR WALL BRACED ITEMS. CUT AND PATCH FLOORS AS REQUIRED; SUPPLY AND INSTALL HIGH EARLY STRENGTH CONCRETE (24 HOURS MAX TO MEET REQUIRED STRENGTH) FOR ALL PATCHES/REPAIRS.
12. ALL WORK NOTED "BY OTHERS" OR "N.I.C." SHALL BE PROVIDED BY THE OWNER UNDER SEPARATE CONTRACT. COORDINATE AS REQUIRED TO ASSURE ORDERLY SEQUENCE OF INSTALLATION.
13. DO NOT SCALE DRAWINGS. ALL DIMENSIONS MARKED "CLEAR" SHALL BE MAINTAINED AND SHALL ALLOW FOR THICKNESS OF ALL FINISHES.
14. "TYPICAL" OR "TYP." SHALL MEAN THAT THE CONDITION IS REPRESENTATIVE FOR SIMILAR CONDITIONS THROUGHOUT, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED (U.O.N.). "ALIGN" SHALL MEAN TO ACCURATELY LOCATE FINISH FACES IN THE SAME PLANE. "SIMILAR OR "SIM." MEANS COMPARABLE CHARACTERISTICS FOR THE CONDITIONS NOTED. VERIFY DIMENSIONS AND ORIENTATION ON PLANS AND ELEVATIONS.
