Uhh…Plagiarism?

What’s the big idea?

What’s wrong with it?

•It’s taking credit for something you didn’t do

•It’s STEALING, LYING, CHEATING, and being LAZY!

• It’s unfair to the creator

•In schools you can get suspended and in college you could be expelled

• You could go to jail

•Always give credit to the place that you got your information

•When sources are cited-How do you cite your sources?

•Depends on what you are writing about, how you use it, and expectations of your teacher

•You should mention author(s), the title, and depending on what it is, the genre

•You can cite your sources in any sentence, or even as its own paragraph

•You should use quotation marks when quoting some one, or writing the title of something

Some Sources are not Cited?

When sources are not cited-

•A consequence of plagiarism is people who do it only hurt themselves

•Research and writing, putting sources, taking good notes, putting appropriate quotations, and giving credit to others for their work

•People who plagiarize never learn these skills and life can be difficult without them

The Remix-

The Misinformer-

The Photocopy-

The Ghost Writer-

The Customer- Buying a pre-written paper or essay from someone who copies them from the internet and sells them to make money

Taking someone else's work, not changing even one word, and turning it in as his/her work

•Just because it is remixed doesn't mean it's not plagiarism, you still need the consent of the maker

•Even if you're remixing a song and just going to release it, not sell it, it’s still plagiarism

The Writer copies a bunch of text straight from just one source without changing it at all

Incorrectly citing sources; giving the wrong source information making it so that you are unable to find them
