YKOR celebrated Chanukah in style last Thursday. All of the talmidim gathered in the auditorium eager for the mesibah to begin. The amazing show performed by Master Ventriloquist- JONATHAN GE-FFNER was a resounding hit, as the pic-tures here will attest. Songs, shows, donuts and so much more were all part of what made the second day of Chanukah something to re-member by all YKOR stu-dents.

A Peek into Upcoming YKOR Calendar
Save the Date! The second annual YKOR Project Based Learning Fair was launched this week. This year, the entire middle school will be designing and building projects that relate to the theme of travel. 6th graders--model bridges. 7th grad-
ers--model ships. 8th graders--model air-planes. Parents and younger students will be invited to view and learn about the projects on Sunday, February 25 IYH and will also partake in hands-on sci-
ence activities related to flight, buoyancy and forces in our science labs run by our students. Awards will be handed out in the following areas--research and information in sci-ence and history, design and engineering, collaboration. The boys have begun the preparation and planning in their teams.
Would You Be a Patriot or a Loyalist? 7th graders are analyzing primary and secondary source docu-ments pertaining to the years leading up to the American Revolu-tion and writing about whether they would choose to be a patriot or loyalist based on the evidence in the documents. The boys appreciated hearing Rabbi Gottlieb share from his own experience about the value of good debating skills and the ability to support an argument.
The eighth grade talmidim were tested on an amud full of gamara, rashi and tosfos by Rabbi Medetsky, Rabbi Genack, Rabbi Bam-berger, Rabbi Vilinsky, Rabbi Kahana, Rab-bi Lichtenstein and Rabbi Yehudah Brodie.
