Urban Architecture

What is Urban Architect?

Urban architecture consists of buildings made for an urban (city) setting, specifically for

large or growing cities. With almost half of the world's population currently living in urban

cities, urban architecture has become a massive part and thriving field of design. Special

considerations of this area of design are concerned with the practicalities of city life,

including high-capacity housing and workplaces, friendship of form and function, and,

more recently, energy-efficient design such as your solar energy which is still improving to

be even better.

More about Urban Architecture

Those were some of the examples of Urban Architecture. The point of views also makes it a

factor which make people get attracted to these images too. These structures that you

see are real and are out there in the world. Its weird how some of them look super super

futuristic. But in my opinion these buildings, as good as they're, I prefer the old looking ones

that look modern but not futuristic. Here are some examples:

Rural Architecture

What makes Rural different from Urban is the fact that Rural buildings and the setting

would be outside of the city. The buildings designs would have a variant. But most of them

would be bigger and be more spread out compared to the urban areas. Also since its not

in the city so there will be the poor areas sadly. The best part is that the true history and

culture tends be from rural areas in the country/city.

Social Identity

Social Identity is as import as individual Identity. Everyone is different. It could be to do with

what race you are, what country you're/family from, personality, age, gender and many

other things. All of these things make everyone unique but social identity is where people

are identified as something together in individual groups. I will be going through them in

different slides.

Social Identity- Race (Human)

What is a race?

The term Human race has been used since the 17th century to class as person from their skin colour also the ethnic background. Examples for skin would be white (Caucasian) people, black people and Asian people(brown people)

Ethnic background is in depth of that. Its where you're from country wise. For example, if you or your family is from Asian you will be classed as Asian. But you talk about ethnic, you talk about what specific country your from in Asia. So if your from Pakistan, you will classed as Pakistani, if your were from India you will be classed as Indian, if you were from china you will be classed as Chinese or if you were from japan you will be classed as Japanese. It’s the same thing if u were from America, England or any other country. You are classed as something as a group. Which is an example for social identity .

Social identity – Economic Status

What does that mean?

Economic Status is where one is classed as a upper class, middle class or lower class. This is

still a thing as people get judged on how much wealth they have. If you go back 100

years + you will you would clearly see that hierarchy in effect. But now we live in a world

where we do have those who may not have that much wealth but are being put into

programs like the benefits system in England. So it wont be as obvious to class someone

rich or poor as we don’t really bothered as people. But that cant be said in the business

world or the media industry. Your wealth does matter there and its not always a bad thing

when it comes to business at times but there’re some who would judge you for how much

wealth you have specially in the media industry.

Social identity – Personality- Nerds and

cool people

Personality is what makes person unique. However not everyone will get along with you

due to who are as a person which is not good but it’s the world we live. People tend class

a person as someone. For example, if someone was really smart, had glasses, reads comic

and plays video games would be classed as a nerds. If you fit into those examples really

well then you might be nerd too so people who are nerds would tend to hang around

people who like them which would form a group.

If you someone who does sports, go outs with friends, does parties, who is popular , has

upto date clothing on and the list goes on but you can understand what I mean.

Anyway, those types of people would classed as being cool would be another example.

They would also hang around with people who like them. But there the majority who have

abit of all of that In them so they tend to get along with anyone really.

Social identity - Power

This topic could be carryon on from Economic status but it also follows the lines of the

personality topic too so I thought just talk about it separately.

There's a lot of way you can go about this but I wanted to talk type of power where how

much a person as over people. Some people use and some may use it for bad but not

everyone will happy with your choices. The best examples for that would be politics. Being

a President or a Prime minister makes you to captain of that country you're supposed to

lead the people the “right way” forward. Which is generally not always true because as

leader you will stuff that’s stupid but in your eyes its for the “greater good” and you will do

stuff the people will love you for.

But to have that type of power you need to start from the bottom to work your way up.

president

The best way to show this type of power I think is this process which running an election to become a President. I wont go into detail but I will talk about the key aspects of this whole process.

Running a campaign

To kick this off you need to get your name out there. Its totally down to you on how you do that. You can use social media or you can go out to public places and talk about your campaign. You will need to have some serious knowledge about all of this, perhaps having a degree in something that will relate to this would help you. Law degree would be a good example. It shows the public that you have that knowledge in the law system. Thats how you will be making rules anyway, by going though the law system.

Once you have your name out there you need make people believe in you. This where you have to say and do stuff that would get people to understand you. I talked about how people have different personality and they tend to connect to people who can understand them. That’s what you will have to do.

Im sure you wont be the only one who will try and run for being president so you will have to tackle all of that too. But as youare doing that you would to get more peoples attention and of the best ways of doing that is using posters to get people to vote for you and then after while if things go well then you might be the president. But a lot of work as to be done. Going to different states and meeting different people is a tough job f you want to convince them. You also have to follow the constitutional. Which just are some set of “rules2 that even the president should Most countries have them too. You don’t break the law if you don’t follow but it shows that you don’t value what this county is about.

Constitutional - Preambles.

Preambles essentially means that its just a shorter version of an actual Constitutional. It’s a opening statement to the constitution. An introduction to the constitutional . Here's the US preamble:

“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquillity, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

Its sounds so strong and the words show a lot of emotion. Its something that everyone that’s lives in the US and loves the country would know. That’s how I would want my preamble to be like.

Social identity-Power – Becoming a president – Posters Here are just some of the posters that have been

used. Some of these are done by the public. That’s how you win. If You get people believing in you, you wont hardly have to spend a dime on posters as they will do it for you. That’s another example of power. A person who make people do what he/she wants done which is not always a bad thing. It depends on what you want people to do.

and the paint effect. It looks like someone done

the paint effect in photoshop or illustrator.

Social identity- Power –

using it the wrong way Going back to this another example of

controlling people would be Hitler. He used his

power for evil things and tired to dominate the

world. He did a lot of damage but never had

done that alone. Back then there was no

internet. The only way Hitler got to people

was by TV, posters, violence or radio. Here are

some examples of posters that would’ve been

used.

My favourte

poster form the

two slides.

I dont like what's in the poster in the left but the way the poster is laid out and the art styles is really really good.

I love the seconding poster. The typography is what caught my attention to this. The colour scheme and fonts style is on point. Its right in your face to get your attention. To make it even better there's drawing that’s so action packed which makes the poster so strong that it would've got people to do their part.

Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria is one of the Spanish Canary Islands. Its off

northwest Africa and its known for its white sandy beaches,

its black lava ands its capital city called Las Plamas. It’s a

major stop for cruise ships and for its shopping which are

duty free. But there's so much more to this place which

makes it beautiful to explore.

What I would want

I would want this islands to be more rural and have places just like those that I have put in

my research about rural places. I don’t want it to be super futuristic and I don’t want to

have one place in the island where all the attention goes to like the las plamas. I want big

open roads and big houses and more of the nature side instead of the cities that we live

in today. A peaceful place. But for that to happen the war that's happening between the

rebels and the Rorporation must end. The corporation have took this place and ruined it.

There's no freedom. Gran Canaria is place where anyone from any country can live there

and not be judged for where they're from, their skin colour, their personality. Just like other

country we too have a preamble constitution.

Gran Canaria’s Preamble.

We the Gran Canarias are people who believe in freedom. We believe that everyone is equal regardless of where you’re from, what religion you are and what skin colour you are. Her majesty has given this glorious island hope and we prey the beauty of this place shall never be destroyed. We unite against those who harm Gran Canaria and its people. God bless us all with love, strength, happiness and guides us to the right paths together. Que Dios bendiga a Su Majestad la Reina Isabel y bendiga a Gran Canaria. Amén

(God bless her majesty Queen Elizabeth and bless Gran Canaria. Amen)

The who story about this island Is that this place has gone through a lot of wars. Its been raided by so many counties but that all ended as the Queen of England gave it new life by eradicating those who tired to corrupt it. It was great for 10 years but after the vendetta battle that happened in London . Some members called “The Fingermen” managed to escape and formed a group called the Corporation who have invaded Gran Canaria. Now the people of Gran Canaria are seeking vengeance.

Flags!!

Flags give things an identity. A face. So when people see

that flag they know what its representing. Every country has

one. Some look good and some look bad but the main

purpose is to represent the country so it doesn’t matter how

good or ugly they look. Flags don’t always have to be

about countries. It could represent a city or even football

team. It just has to present something

Flag 1

This is the flag of Gran Canaria. It’s a mix of the union jack (my English version) and the Spanish flag.

The top picture was a method Rudy showed me. He told me to describe the book in words and then showed me how to use those words and make drawings out of it.

The bottom picture was just me drawing my first thought and it was the first one that I really liked. The ‘v’ at the bottom represent the word vengeance but also forms a heart which is why I added that it. The two things that are on both sides of the English flags were first supposed to be the stripes that you see on the union jack but I wanted to make it my own so I made it look like the bio hazard sign to warn those who want to harm the people and ruin Gram Canarai .

Flag 2

This flag is the same as the first one but

this flag represents the rebellions who

are fighting against the Corporation. I

made it black and white to make it

serious. I also made it so it can be used

on clothing just like a logo.

The picture shows my ideas for the

sending flag but when I tried them out

in illustrator, it didn’t work so I just

modified the first logo.

This flag represents the corporation. The

picture below was the thought process. I

wanted this flag to around the logo that

was used by “the Fingermen”.

My poster Made a poster as an example from when I

did the research. This poster is about getting people to fight against the corporation.

After looking at so many posters, I came across this one which is the picture on the left. So I instantly had an idea so I started to draw a concept which is the bottom picture.

At thought having two icon buildings. One from England and one from Spain but when I did it, it didn’t work out so I just stuck with one which was the Spanish one. Its called the Seville Cathedral. It is the largest Gothic cathedral and the third-largest church in the world.

The story of this poster is That it was supposed to be a message from the Corporation to get people to come to the island but then rebellion's scribbled all over the poster to send their own message.
