1. UKIERI ICT Workshop
In April 2008, the British Council in Delhi hosted a series of ICT workshop showcasing the potential ways in which the Internet and free online software could be used to develop international links. From the UKIERI London – Delhi Indian School (aka The Hub) cluster, the following members took part:

The British CouncilChris SwiftChris managed the British Council’s E-Languages site and is in charge of managing the UKIERI site. He helped to co-ordinate the programme in Delhi with members of the British Council in Delhi.
ICT ConsultantsBaldev SinghBaldev runs an independent ICT consultancy called Imagine Education and co-ordinated the ICT workshop with Ewan McIntosh.
Ewan McIntoshEwan also contributed to the ICT workshop and was a French teacher for many years, now working for Channel 4 as a producer and as a social media specialist.

Much of the software required to enable collaborative projects through the Internet is free
Children have a multi-sensory lifestyle and adopt new technologies easily - the use of the Internet is part of most children’s lives
Use the British Council UKIERI site to summarize and document projects taking place, including links to outcomes

2. Collaborative Podcast Pilot ProjectOverviewThis pilot project is an ICT collaboration between Fortismere Secondary School, St.Aidan's VC CE Primary School, The Banyan Tree School and The Modern School VV.
BriefStudents ask each other questions, which are recorded as audio files, edited together using Audacity and then used to create a response using animoto or a similar audio visual application.

Good communication with Indian Schools
Project is manageable and achievable
Use UKIERI site to only post up written documentation and include links to other applications
Design projects with free web 2.0 software as such applications are free and easily available for students
Podcasts are immediate and students enjoy the process
Work can be shared easily online, downloaded onto computer or mobile phone
Project could be integrated into Citizenship curriculum in the context of International Relations and Development
3. ICT Potential Outcomes
Sharing and commenting on images using Flickr
Online radio podcasts, where students interview each other about out-of-school interests
Joint news style interview, where video is swapped and used to edit a short news programme
Using slideshare to exchange presentations on a specific theme and collaborate on sections together
Use Fortismere VLE or a Edublog site to pose questions, which students can answer in forums
Use of Google Maps to geotag images and add information about local area
